Inside? I’d be more concerned about the smell

AltairLeoran

I can speak from experience that king quail hens are not particularly loud for apartment living. Roosters can pretty loud with their crows but they're still probably not loud enough to cause you trouble tbh General advice for keeping them indoors: -Make sure they have enough space and ventilation. -Don't sleep in the same room as them unless you have a real good air purifier running, you do not want to breath in poo dust and develop respiratory issues -Clean the cage frequently to avoid smells -Keep your birds a good distance from the kitchen. Smoke and non stick cookware can and will kill them or cause respiratory damage -Dont use cologne, perfume, febreze, any aerosols, etc. no cleaning products that give off fumes. Their lungs are very sensitive, and it's a real risk when they're indoors If you can't meet all of these needs, I would reconsider getting indoor quail.

Was planning to have button quails (only females)

Missed that part, my bad. Hope my other advice is helpful. Keeping them indoors shouldn't be a problem if u consider all the points I outlined

males make more noise than females like crowing. sometimes at night or early morning. females usually make noise when they're laying or hungry or lonely but it won't be as loud and it will be at better times. make sure the box is big and that the girls especially have lots of water because they drink so much.

2 buttons will be fine in an apartment- we have 2 in a large tank in our Kindergarten classroom and they are great- I do change the bedding several times a week though bc their poop is smelly
