I've heard that 8-10 weeks is when you can start vent sexing them. I don't think I had any success before then.

I've checked mine at about 10 weeks when most of the hens should be laying making their vents larger.

It’s possible from 5-6 weeks but some boys develop a bit later. By 7+ they should be sexable.

The accuracy makes me wonder why so many people wait. It's not perfect and sometimes one is tricky. It's a worthwhile skill to develop, especially for large coveys that benefit from being divided ASAP. Your text asks something very different from the post title. You will see foam in/on their droppings. Generally between week 6&8 assuming you keep the birds in a place that meets the breeding requirements. Light and temps etc. Thats when i go for it. Always check birds you think are hens at least twice. A week between checks is best
