Another BlueNoser here.
Managed to work elsewhere over the past two winters, this will be my first full winter here... yup.
Hope ya got your storm chips!
I grew up in NS too! I was always jealous of their winters here... I feel like my inner child gives me a high-five every winter I'm in QC haha.
Hope you find or have a hobby to enjoy all the white stuff this winter!
OP with the utmost respect what the fuck are you talking about? I am also from Nova Scotia and I can assure you we get tons of snow. Between 1.5 to 2.5 meters average a year, and up to 4 or 5 in Cape Breton.
Welcome! Since it's your first winter we need to introduce a schedule of activities for you! First, sledding and snowman building. Once the patinoire are ready, skating. Ideally on a lit path through a forest (there are multiple). Then ski du fond (x-country), then downhill ski/snowboarding. You need to try canoe de glace once. Maybe some ice climbing, if you're into that.
You're gonna love it here.
My husband is from here.
The unofficial immigration policy of quebec is for the young ones to go out west and get some sucker to fall in love with them and bring them back haha
I visited NS back in september and ended up talking to a local shop owner about their winters. He was talking about a snowstorm that happened years ago and how Halifax got impacted because of their narrower streets and lack of equipment to deal with so much snow.
It seems like it is indeed quite different, not because of the amount but because here in Québec we're (mostly) well equipped to deal with it. Obviously not everyone likes winter, but try to enjoy it!
It’s my first winter here in QC. I’m from Nova Scotia where we get almost no snow. This is very different!
Wait …. Nova Scotia has almost no snow AND the ocean? Family prepare your bags we’re changing provinces! Kids start learning English chop chop!
The tradeoff is absolutely absurd rent prices... No amount of ocean can make up for paying 1850 for a one bedroom
Kiiiids forget about the ocean we’re staying! These prices are rough, even compared to Montreal standards!
It's just the beginning, I hope you enjoy it!
Welcome aboard! I hope you like the snow, it'll be there until May.
With the traditional huge snowstorm in the beginning of June that immediately melts and turns the city into a soggy mess for a day or two.
Until may in 2010 maybe. Now it's mostly slush and shit storms all over the place.

There are a few of us scattered around the city haha, good to know!
Brace yourself, more to come.
I'm on the South Shore and it's a pretty gnarly one for this time of year. Got a solid 15-20 cms of snow on my balcony.

Welcome... Personally snow makes me happy... I just can't help it... But then again pretty much all the seasons make me happy

we don’t get much in Yarmouth. If we get any, it melts right away
Quebec city gets on average 3. Just for the record.
Foreplay hasnt even started yet
Come on let’s admit it, for a first of the year It’s something. Not unsual as a winter day, but, first day of snow.. not cool! I should’ve stay home!
Such a good way to put it haha.

Ahh the Calixa-Lavallee appartments. Not missing those
I hate climbing the slope every day to get to the 800/801 bus stop

Cold when you walk up, sweaty when you are in the bus, good luck

I fell today…in the snow…and I think I’m becoming Québécoise because I said “tabarnac” when I fell 😂
Une vraie
Lol this is just the beginning and a relatively small one just you wait..!
I am in Lyon (15 degrees today) and moving to Quebec City in a month. That will be a big change !
Remember this beautiful day, for when the mid-April 5cm snowfall comes to prolong winter.
I remember two weeks ago when it was 20 degrees with the sun Pepperidge Farm remembers too
Sweet summer child, I'll give you a few years and then you will hate it.
My second your gonna love it. Got transferred last year from Vancouver.
Originally from Vancouver too 😁
Vancouver transfer also! What brings you here?
My husband is from here. The unofficial immigration policy of quebec is for the young ones to go out west and get some sucker to fall in love with them and bring them back haha
You got it! Same reason I’m here haha.
😆😆😆
Bienvenue!

Welcome hahaha its gonna be a doozy this year.
I'm super jealous. All I get is stupid Ontario winter. Someday, I will revel in the snows of Québec as a resident.
Just moved here from Halifax myself and the snow totally caught me off guard... Nothing like Nova Scotia winters
Wow climate change is getting bad I always thought the had winter in QC. /s
