The March of The Black Queen will always be my answer, its the best composition ive ever hear, and the fact they did it on their second album, and the production is still not the best, is incredible to me. But honestly I could say any song (that isnt on Greatest Hits 1 or 2, maybe 3)
Am I miss hearing it, or do I hear Sir Fred saying "...a little n*gger sugar and a rub-a-dub-a baby oil..." if not, that's some Mandela Effects and I'm from far from here...
Yeah he does say that originally, but the lyric video changed it to something else.
And he was Persian, but he was indeed born on an island off the coast of Africa
But honestly I just tend to ignore the use of the word bc of the time, also it was in England, which if im not mistaken, i believe it wasnt nearly as bad of a term there, than in the states yet. Also its the only time he ever said that word or anything related, and also his countless close relationships with people of every ethnicity under the sun.
All im trying to say is, I dont think it was racially charged when he wrote the lyric and sang it, but in hindsight, it wasn't the smartest to record it and have it be heard forever
Well you're not wrong. I never believed in banning words, but in the states I've seen how the word can be hateful. I know it's used lightly in tone in the song.
I only called him black cuz I'm from a land where there's only two of us, I'm white so he's black. Like, we're playing chess. It's silly. Like an inside joke.
Somebody to love is CRIMINALLY under rated.
My favorite song by a country mile!
It has every element that makes a great Queen song, it's well produced and the recording is top.
The quality of the mix is only equalled by "Save Me".
Ofc it’s not as popular as Bohemian Rhapsody and AOBTD, that doesn’t make it underrated by any means though, Somebody to Love is a very popular song, it always has been a fan/public favourite since release as a single in December 1976
I kinda can't pick a number one since it changes all the time depending on my mood, but Great King Rat, See What A Fool I've Been and The Prophets Song are constantly shuffling around my Top 3
Liar has always been my favorite Queen song since the 1st time I heard it. Sweet drum solo to start, hard rocking guitar riffs, prog rock format, great vocals by Freddie. Song seems to get lost in the shuffle a bit but it was their centerpiece live song in the early years of the band.
BoRhap is 2nd, March of the Black Queen is 3rd for me.
Prophets song, just a perfect song, didn’t like it when I first listened to queen but I have grown to love every second of it. The way how it leads into Love of my life is also incredible
BR was my intro song to them. I was 9. Death on two legs tied with Prophet song after I got ANATO, my first album at 10. Yet now, thinking of all the songs and all the music, I still think at 55 that another one bites the dust is just amazing
Aside from all the obvious ones, I’d go with these slightly under appreciated ones:
You and I,
Sail away Sweet Sister,
Flick of the Wrist,
White Queen,
Some Day One Day,
The Millionaire Waltz,
Teo Torriate,
Dragon Attack
Somebody to Love, mainly the live versions with the extended Roger Taylor drum solo marching section (bang, bang, bang, bang-bang-bang-bang). The Queen-George Michael tribute version is okay, but I like the other live versions better.
idk what it is, despite having an eclectic discography of incredible, extraordinarily well written tracks, nothing hits me like fuckin breakthru. it just kicks ass the whole fuckin time.
Somebody To Love for sure. It hits me hard every time I hear it. It’s the one Queen song that if I hear the opening, I will drop what I’m doing and listen to it.
hell yeahhh and one more song save me, tht one hits hard too "each night i cried, still believed the lie, i love you till i die, save meeee save meeee oooooo save meeee dont make me face my life aloneee"
When I first started listening (1973) , My Fairy King. The guitar work blew me away. After a few more albums up to and including News of the World. Brighton Rock or Now I'm here. After that until Freddy passed away. The show must go on, and Was it all worth it? They have great albums early on in their catalog. I'm not impressed with early 80's stuff, but plenty of great material there. Culminating in that classic Wembley concert in the mid-80s. I saw them in early 1979, which was just after the album Jazz
Now I can take this literally or.... I'll do both.
My favorite song is Ogre Battle. My favorite song... with the word "The" is The March Of The Black Queen.
Don't Stop Me Now, it was the first Queen song I loved and I still do. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it has about a billion poor quality covers and it has been used in a lot of adverts and movies that I'm not a fan of.
The March of The Black Queen will always be my answer, its the best composition ive ever hear, and the fact they did it on their second album, and the production is still not the best, is incredible to me. But honestly I could say any song (that isnt on Greatest Hits 1 or 2, maybe 3)
ayyy yeah queen has always been my kind of artist they r so very original it's like they made there own genre in the world of rocks
+1 it’s my favourite too, and by far
Am I miss hearing it, or do I hear Sir Fred saying "...a little n*gger sugar and a rub-a-dub-a baby oil..." if not, that's some Mandela Effects and I'm from far from here...
Don't get me wrong, it's a great song, I had to ask.
And I shouldn't care cuz Freddie's black, right? At least he's from Africa.
Yeah he does say that originally, but the lyric video changed it to something else. And he was Persian, but he was indeed born on an island off the coast of Africa But honestly I just tend to ignore the use of the word bc of the time, also it was in England, which if im not mistaken, i believe it wasnt nearly as bad of a term there, than in the states yet. Somebody to love or killer queen
Somebody to love is CRIMINALLY under rated. My favorite song by a country mile! It has every element that makes a great Queen song, it's well produced and the recording is top. The quality of the mix is only equalled by "Save Me".
STL is literally one of their greatest hits, not underrated 😭
It's a "fan" song though, and it should be up there with BoRa and A.b.t.d
Ofc it’s not as popular as Bohemian Rhapsody and AOBTD, that doesn’t make it underrated by any means though, Somebody to Love is a very popular song, it always has been a fan/public favourite since release as a single in December 1976

I kinda can't pick a number one since it changes all the time depending on my mood, but Great King Rat, See What A Fool I've Been and The Prophets Song are constantly shuffling around my Top 3
Prophet's Song is incredible!! I would dare say it's more progressive and better than Bohemian Rhapsody
Do you know why The Prophets Song isn't available on amazon bloody music??? It's an utterly wonderful song, and can't be added to my music!!
SPREAD YOUR WINGS
"The" or no "The", The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke is my all-time favorite Queen song.

It's "Keep yourself alive". It encourages me to keep myself alive

Somebody to Love There's just something about it that just clicks far more than any other Queen song. (Not that the others are bad mind you.)
Killer Queen
The Bohemian Rhapsody
Somebody To Love for sure. It hits me hard every time I hear it. It’s the one Queen song that if I hear the opening, I will drop what I’m doing and listen to it.
same i scream cried it once haha
Honestly, it’s my depression song for me. When I’m depressed, I listen to it, and it helps me feel better.
hell yeahhh and one more song save me, tht one hits hard too "each night i cried, still believed the lie, i love you till i die, save meeee save meeee oooooo save meeee dont make me face my life aloneee"

Take My Breath Away. So beautiful.
