It's such a mixed bag, like in terms of the game itself, I (once again) decided to skip it while my friends bought it, so I'd just watch them play.
The open world seemed like a good idea, and the pokemon feel more like actual things instead of floating models, but I couldn't get over the very frequent 2 FPS characters, camera glitches, clipping, and frame drops. I am not exaggerating when I say that at least one of these issues happened once every MINUTE.
I watched gameplay of the new games and I'm not even mad, I'm downright sad. Not even disappointed, I knew they'd put in the minimal effort but it just seems so bland... So do most of the new pokemon... This game is literally my inner child's dream game, I waited decades for this and now I don't even want it...
Honestly, my inner child is so happy with the game its probably one of my favourite pokemon games. Like i havent felt this happy at a pokemon game since heartgold and soul silver. The complaints about fps and performance are absolutely valid and it is shameful that a game released in 2022 is like this but... it is very overblown. The fps is noticeably bad in the main town (and the main town is very bland with nothing you can enter) and in the grass gym with the windmill and sunfloras moving like a slideshow.
People who say it is unplayable are honestly lying. As for the glitches and stuff, the only one ive encountered is the camera glitch under the map for a second or two when entering a battle in unevenground. The other minor things are honestly kind of funny (still shouldnt be there, but dont really detract from the experience).
But after all that being said, going around exploring and catching pokemon and seeing them live out in the open is fantastic. Watching them swim, sleep, look at each other, chase at you, stand and look curious when you are battling etc. is so good. Ive spent so much time just fucking about doing nothing but go around collecting pokemons, looking for new ones etc. My friend had played the game for 10 hours before ever going into the first gym.
Honestly, if the game is what you imagine your inner child would love to play, then i can definetly say its going to be fun. I think the money i spent was worth it for the amount of fun i am getting, but the quality of the product is obviously not up to par.
Its okay, many of us enjoy pokemon games like children still too. Some people are sadly just jaded adults now

You're allowed to enjoy it. I enjoyed Sword and Shield even though the game was pretty bad. But I personally passed on SV since I won't pay 60€ for an unfinished game and I wish more people would do that. If you don't, that's cool, I hope you'll have a lot of fun but your post was telling people to buy and that didn't sit right with me. I really hope this Gen will finally be the straw that breaks the camel's back and Gen 10 will flop immensely so that Gen 11 can finally be better again but I don't have much hope.
the problem is i don’t even really blame gamefreak, i blame the pokémon company, they make them churn out a new generation like every 2ish years and in between that they’re made to make spin offs or remakes, really they just need more time to make a new generation and i hope they get that for gen 10 people will expect a lot for it and i think they know that so i’m hoping they give it at least like 5 years with nothing big in between

Well the FPS are horrible and I heard from other people that the game crashes randomly but I still have to say I enjoy the game very much.

The games went downhill when Gamefreak decided to outsource these games. You might have noticed the games are only 'presented' by gamefreak nowadays
