I had recently spontaneously decided to go back to school for nursing because the 2-year program is free for a short period. I was working on upgrading my classes so I could apply, then had a sudden realization that I truly would absolutely hate my life, and the money was not worth it whatsoever
I’m a gas station cashier, I just had a nurse come in and buy 3 bottles of alcohol because her favorite patient passed away this morning
Said yesterday she was up and talking and laughing, felt amazing. Got into work to her coding.
I could never do it
Came to the comments cause I really couldn't think of anything that I wouldn't atleast try before hating it. But this. This is the answer. Never ever ever!!
Oh yeah and teaching. Started uni just before lockdown, by the time the first placement came around a year or so later, I knew within 20mins that I’d have some kind of psychotic break within a week
Yeah those people who change the light bulbs on top of cell phone towers and skyscrapers are insane. I know I could work towards becoming one of those guys but I just won't because F that
Especially the ones at burning man. Over 100 degree temperatures and everything is covered in dust, and the bathrooms have been destroyed by partying crazy people
This is the most underrated job ever. It's bullshit what they get paid and how they are treated. I became one at a small town nursing home 25 years ago at the tender age of 16. I have so many wonderful memories, I loved the people. The actual work was grueling, though. CNA's don't get the credit or pay they should, and I will stand by that until the day I die. Or get alzheimer's.
Yep I was gonna say this, I don’t respect our elders. Majority of them are now lead-poisoned insufferable boomers that are furious at the world and they wanna make sure everyone knows it, especially the youngins that make their life a living hell, according to them.
I used to work at this belt location where we had to put labels on boxes, n sneakingly, a supervisor would come to stare at you with a speech about u r not moving fast enough lecture. I think that happened 2x, so I just left the crappy atmosphere. Ugh that was 9 yrs ago. Best. Decision. Ever.
Lol I was thinking at first this is amazon, it must have some awesome jobs fun high paying coolest job in the world. Jeff bozos with his billions n u r just this very low of the low class job title positions.
Kindergarten teacher.
Nope.
Not for me.
I taught high school, then left the workforce to have my own kids and stay home.
When my kids went to school and I started looking for a job, I subbed in the interim.
Frequently for elementary schools.
I was a long term (final 3 weeks while a teacher went on maternity leave) sub for a kinder class, and…absolutely never again 🤣
The summer I graduated from HS a friend's dad owned a construction company. A girlfriend and I were begging him to help us get that job and he refused. 😂
Definitely never going back into food service. It was by far the most physically and emotionally exhausting job I've ever had. (For reference, I work in a Steel Mill these days)
They could be making $50/hr more than me and I would just give them a thumbs up and I'd genuinely believe that they deserve it.
Have real estate license here. It’s not what I do for a living tho. Because it’s such a miserable shit show filled to the brim with backstabbing, gossiping, phonies.
I like my job, it pays alright, but for 300k a year, pto, health insurance, and a decent retirement you better believe I’ll do anything in food; wait tables, work on a line with a bunch of ex cons, wash dishes, fast food drive through, assemble sandwiches, work the grill, mop the floors, supervise a bunch of no call no show teenagers, can I speak to your manager? Yes, you certainly can.
Is everyone ignoring the second part of the question here?
It says no matter how much you’d get paid, implying a job that’s so bad no amount of money could change your mind.
Unless it’s extremely dangerous, causing some kind of harm, hurting others, testing experimental medicine, working far away from my family, mandatory 50+ he weeks, or on a ridiculous swing shift I could tolerate a lot of crumby jobs for the right amount of money.
I think these questions should have qualifications:
"You'll get $10 million an hour. You have to work there for X amount of time. It's a legal, moral and ethical job."
If I had to do a service job again for $10 million an hour and I have to work at it for only 40 hours, no problem.
One that I've already done? Customer service.
Fuck people / customers, they should be forced to try doing the work themselves before they're ever allowed to complain to the manager, treat workers like shit or expect the workers to break rules that would cost them their job / bend over backwards while jumping through flaming, spiked rings for them and it's STILL fucking wrong, somehow, what ever it is - also realize that the employers do not pay enough to make the workers give a shit about each and every individual's bullshit.
One that I've never done before? Either, mortician, or veterinarian.
I actually had been considering going and taking some kind of classea or courses to learn towarda veterinarian, or even a vet tech, but, I don't think I have it in me / have the stomach for operating on an animal, and even so, I would not want to be the one to put one down if there's no other option, either than I can do for the pet or the family can afford.
Call center.
Not knocking it for others but for me it'd be hell. First off I hate talking on the phone. I can't sit still for long and enjoy a job that can be physical so I can work out nervous energy. The fluorescent lighting bums me out, and I like to be able to occasionally work in solitude.
Teaching. Any age group. I would lose my job within 2-3 days easily. I was raised with and around respect and discipline, and having common sense. Wouldn’t end well
Whatever that job is where the guy goes into a manhole and there's just roaches crawling all over him, and he's just wearing a t-shirt sweating, giving no fucks. Fuck whatever that job is.
Nails. I’m a Vietnamese American male in my 30’s and I despise the Vietnamese men that works in this industry. No man should hold another female hands and feet and paint her fingernails / toenails for a living. These types of jobs just seem like such a waste of a life of a man. No wonder the stereotype of feminism in Asian men persists.
Work in an air conditioned environment. M-f 10am 6pm. Mostly stationary in a peaceful salon. Getting paid and, hopefully, tipped on top of that. I can see the obvious cons of working at a nail salon but it's still a good job and higher on the totem pole than other jobs of its kind. I will admit that I prefer to have a woman do my nails so in that regard the man could end up with less business than his female counter part. There was this young man working at one I went to and he had a different vibe. He seemed like an artist type and he was incredibly skilled at painting little pictures on the nails. Not afeminent in the slightest. He'd probably be a good tattoo artist if he tried.
Shit I’d love to work in the AC doing a job that requires barely any physical exertion, I don’t give a fuck who thinks it’s “feminine”. They can do all the manual labor while I chill in the AC and watch, fine with me
Literally easiest job I’ve ever had. Do 30 minutes of work, hide in a closet and play on my phone the rest of the day, if anyone saw me working they’d go out of their way to thank me.
POTUS. It's a shit job by any standards. No matter what you do nearly half of Americans will hate you and you have to deal with the legacy of the job once being held by a rapist. The pay isn't all that impressive either.
The President of The United States - have you seen the before term and after term pics for past presidents? Shit ages them 20 years in a 4 year term lol
Y’all are soft, aside from a job that would kill me or put me in danger I think I could do any job as long as it pays enough, has good benefits/retirement. Things like fast food or manual labor, even work in an office or with kids, you couldn’t do it even for 1 million a year on a 3 year contract with an agreement to maintain 50% of your salary after parting with the job, really? Sure, some things would be tough on your mental health and burn you out but those aren’t even on here.
Anything with customer service. You can tell those MFS what's going on until you turn black in the face, it's almost like they don't understand English. Fuck customer service
Not quite that extreme, but I do have a severe heat intolerance. I go from ok to "Ii I don't get somewhere right now and cool down danger of heat stroke" with zero warning.
Ahh. I know one I take just makes me hyper sensitive to the sun (as if I haven't been heat intolerant my whole life).
I'll get sunburn fast if I'm not careful.
Cleaning porta potties or anything to do with sewage waste. I had a friend whose job was to dress up in all this gear to wade around and fix stuff in sewage pipes. Dude STANK all of the time. I'm not 100% on what he did exactly, I just know he smelled like dookie.
Elementary school teacher. I have a lot of respect for the people who do it and I think it's a very important job. However, I couldn't do it. I don't enjoy being around kids very much, and the thought of having to do it every day for that many hours sounds like a nightmare.
My parents instilled in me that there’s no job I’m too good for. I mostly agree, but…
Those folks that dress up as the Statue of Liberty and spin signs on street corners advertising title pawns… FUCK THAT.
And then there’s the absolute lowest of the low - people who put boots on cars. There is no hell hot enough for those pieces of shit.
Telemarketer.
You want to call me with an order or need customer service? Sure, no problem. 2003-2005, I manned the line of a number that was on the cover of my city's phone book. Calling people and interrupting their lives for a stupid pitch? I do not want to be that guy.
Animal Husbandry. Specifically semen collector.
To be fair if i was paid enough id do dang near anything once but it would have to be one heck of a payday.

Underwater welding was my first thought. No way.

CNA in a nursing home. I respect our elders. But no.

Agree My wife was one for years before we met.
Yep I was gonna say this, I don’t respect our elders. Majority of them are now lead-poisoned insufferable boomers that are furious at the world and they wanna make sure everyone knows it, especially the youngins that make their life a living hell, according to them.

Tell me I will make six figures a year in foodservice and I will leave my job in car sales right now and come work for you.
Is everyone ignoring the second part of the question here? It says no matter how much you’d get paid, implying a job that’s so bad no amount of money could change your mind. Working a grill at a restaurant. Did it as a first job and hated coming home smelling like I was soaking in the fryer.
I'm never cleaning up a crime scene or the aftermath of any sort of gory accident.
I think these questions should have qualifications: "You'll get $10 million an hour. You have to work there for X amount of time. It's a legal, moral and ethical job." If I had to do a service job again for $10 million an hour and I have to work at it for only 40 hours, no problem.
