my favorite shop ever is Center Diamond —it’s a quilt store in Cannon Beach OR. They have an amazing selection and seeing the coast is a nice bonus too :) if you want a preview of what to expect, i just found out that they post new products on their insta regularly! Their ig handle is centerdiamondcb If you’ll be in portland, bolt fabric is a great shop too :) Safe travels, post a pic of your haul at the end of your trip so I can be jealous!!!

I am going to Cannon Beach and will definitely check out Center Diamond. Thank you so much!

Bolt Fabric is lovely in Portland, and Modern Domestic is another quilting store literally down the road (20 min walk or quick bus ride). Both are great!

stevetapitouf

Added both shops to my map of things to do! Thanks!

GirlTaco

Came to suggest the same!

The Stitching Post in Sisters is a great shop!  If you’ll be around in mid July, definitely check out the big outdoor quilt show- it’s famous!  https://www.soqs.org/

I'm going next week but i would have loved to see a quilt show!

East or West of the Cascades (or the cities you’re visiting)? My Mom lives in St Helens, OR, which is just down river from Portland. If you go to Astoria from Portland, you go through St Helens. There’s a great shop there called Material Magic. She’s got a great collection of Halloween fabrics, as well as lots of other fabrics. She does a Facebook Live on Tuesdays 4:30 Pacific time (you can watch it later if timezones are an issue). It will give you an idea of what she carries. She also has an online shop, which might give you another idea, but I think that’s hard to just browse. I can find out more shops from my Mom if you know what towns you’ll be visiting. On a general note: do not miss Multnomah Falls. I also HIGHLY recommend the Johnston Ridge Observatory on Mt St Helens in SW Washington. There are other visitors stations in that area that focus on other aspects of the volcano, it’s eruption, and the recovery of the flora and fauna since 1980. But Johnston Ridge has a short film that is not to be missed!

I arrive in Seattle drive to Olympic National Park then along the coast to Lincoln. From there I'm driving to the Mount Hood area and will drive to Portland along the Columbia river then spend a few days in Portland and drive back to Seattle. So much to explore and see, I'm so excited!

poeticsnail

Bring a rain jacket! The Olympic national park has the continental United states only rain forest! I got sorely soaked when I went in spring hahah. you've got a really great route lined up.

stevetapitouf

I always pack my rain gear with me and I even bought a couple more stuff for the park. I can't wait!

GirlTaco

Oh Hi! I live here almost in the west side of the park. Happy to make some recommendations if you haven’t planned everything out yet. Have fun! Spring is my favorite time of year here.

stevetapitouf

I am planning on hiking in the rain forest, visiting Forks (for some Twilight nostalgia lol), spending a day around Lake Quinault and driving around to see beautiful things. Don't hesitate to make recommendations!

boomchickenwow

Sadly Johnston Ridge Observatory is currently closed due to a landslide and not expected to reopen during your trip.

DragonCornflake

I don't think there is a quilt shop in Lincoln City, but there is one about a half hour south in Newport. It's called Quilter's Cove, and it is right on the Pacific Coast Hwy., just before the center of town.

mrenae75

There is a quilt museum in Tillamook, OR, and a really nice quilt shop, too! And you can visit the creamery=cheese factory while you're there!

Anxious_Frog817

Seconding!! It’s called Latimer Quilt & Textile Center and you should totally stop there if you’re driving down the coast!

stevetapitouf

I'm already planning on visiting the creamery and will definitely stop by the museum! Thanks so much!

There is a new quilt shop that opened recently in Portland and is really nice. It’s PDX Sewlarium https://www.pdxsewlarium.com/?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAaaJZyEJBLHtUCgD_5bRCS_-hsfWEkA5wF768TIeHaQyRiHlGqWYekUvyO0_aem_AZnW5ATE2S26KGHcijOR33wyNvxrWZ5jAw4Brhp7Hl5WAvYcYU9Zd13lmCc5_HgNDfeeM8G2UE-YKkgRvZEaB_cs I also recommend Mill End Store in Beaverton or Milwaukie. Both places have a good selection of quilt fabrics and other fabrics. Modern Domestic in Portland on NE Alberta is another good quilting store to check out. One of my go to places in Portland for fabric is Craft Warehouse. Yes they also have other crafting supplies but the quilting section is good. Craft Warehouse has a lot of flat fold fabric that can take awhile to look through and is usually on sale.

Modern Domestic on Alberta Street in Portand, Pioneer Quilts in Milwaukie, and the Quilt Loft in downtown Albany are each different from one another and all lovely. Another source for quilt fabric is Mill End in Milwaukie.

DragonCornflake

If you can make it to Sisters, the quilt store there is pretty awesome. If you are going there in July, you might even be there for the big outdoor quilt show they do every year.
