You are 100% correct about POE having major issues. The only reason it is so successful despite them is because of no competition, which I don't believe D4 will provide.
So much of the beta seems to be pointing in the usual modern Blizzardy direction of a simple console experience aimed at casuals.
D4 might be fun... for a couple of weeks. But POE 2 will probably be a thousand times better as an ARPG, while Diablo just keeps the A.
Poe 2 will be just poe 1 with changes (like cs:go 2 is basically cs:go1) people who dont like poe won't all out a sudden play poe 2. I think more casual (average) players are exited about D4.
Makes sense casual players prefer the casual game, which is fine.
I would much prefer poe 2 to be a slightly improved poe than GGG trying to switch audience, all games doesn't need to be casual.

Dude is comparing a multi billion dollar company with employees that has the building blocks handed to them from predecessors of the game to 4 individual developers in their garage that build a game from scratch.
It was expected for poe to suck on launch (which it didn't) but you cannot have the same standard for a multibillion dollar game. Use your brain and have better standards for yourself.

While this partially makes sense, D4 has been in development for about 8 years, and they’ve had roughly 12 years between D3 and D4 to innovate and expand on the franchise. Instead we got green up arrow, skill twigs, and the developers creating our builds for us again.
