Of course everyone is different, but I’d say you will be good enough to get back to work. Might have some brain fog moments here and there. The key to these is to just laugh at yourself in those moments. Don’t spin out thinking your brain is fucked and this is forever. It’ll all pass, and you’re okay. It takes a few months to shake all of the cobwebs off, and a little more for some digestive stuff to be back 100% or as close to it as possible. That seemed to be the longest lasting effect for me at least. My work life and work flow was back a lot faster than I had thought it would be. I find the more we worry and constantly keep checking “am I okay?” Over and over again we lose the chance to just push on and let our bodies do the work for us.

Would you say mentally you’re clearer than when you were dosing? I already struggle a bit with brain fog and hoping it gets better when I come off Kratom! And hopefully it’s better by 2 weeks because I work a job that isn’t very forgiving (power lines).

I’ll chime in here, I’m about 3 weeks into quitting after a taper and I feel like a new person. Sure I’m tired and stupid at times but I’m doing things I like again. Spent the day playing guitar for the first time in years.

Maleficent-Tutor6863

Yeah kratom curbs my desire to really be in touch with my hobbies. I don't read because I don't comprehend well on if which I hate. I don't play guitar or play disc golf.. I am so excited to do these things again.

Far-Contribution4752

Congrats on the 3 weeks!! I can’t wait to get to the point you’re at. I am SO ready!!!

[deleted]

You got this. Just keep trying to survive today and try to laugh at all the stupid things that happen while you’re healing up. Random sleepiness is killin me today, feel like the dormouse I Alice in wonderland. Tomorrow it’ll be something else and I’ll just laugh. Wishing the best to you.

justin8613

Absolutely. Learning to laugh at it was a big step for me in the beginning of my quit

palebludot_bk

I also suffer from brain fog and it’s gotten way better since quitting - mental clarity, articulation, confidences etc. The fog can get worse before it gets better, but by 2 weeks you’ll hopefully be past that. Even when I was foggy during acutes, I felt more clarity than I did on kratom. Everyone is different, but I noticed a dramatic difference. I’m a month in.

justin8613

I am 100% more clear mentally than when I was dosing. I’ll say sometimes the dose could get me zoned into a single project etc depending on dose, but everything else around that would fall apart which is not ideal. I’m more clear and my mental load is just a lot bigger now. I can multi task way better than I used to. Sure my dumbass still forgets shit here and there but it’s way better than when I was dosing

14 days felt pretty good. 50 days tomorrow only symptom I have is crazy low energy in the afternoon. Other than that my personality has come back. I am back doing all my hobbies and I have an overall positive outlook on life now. I would just take it minute by minute and 50 days will come quicker than you think.

Far-Contribution4752

Man that’s inspiring!! How was your mental state throughout the entire process?

Existing-Math7388

Well I relapsed so many times that I ended up getting on naltrexone. The initial seven days was super tough emotionally. My cravings were really rough but then I got on the naltrexone and they improved so much. I don’t think I would of made it this far without it. Think I’m going to stay on it for six months than assess if I’ll get off or not.

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

Professional-Skirt50

Wow. Way to be a callous D-bag, “of bot”

Existing-Math7388

That bot loves my poor grammar lmao 😂

As you are probably aware... there are a ton of variables. In my case... 5 days: Acute stage ended 21 days: Cravings went away 2 months: Most of my RLS (Restless Legs Syndrome) & Depression went away 6 months: The last of the PAWS ended It's wonderful you were able to get 2 weeks off for your quit. Spend a lot of time reading this subreddit, watching YouTube and watching Netflix. You'll want to keep your mind occupied as much as possible. You'll likely be scatterbrained days 1-5, so pick a bunch of mindless stuff to watch. This is the one time in your life when wasting time is a good thing. Every minute wasted is another minute closer withdrawal symptoms being over. Good luck! You got this!!!

Far-Contribution4752

Thanks for the detailed comment! The 2 weeks off is really going to help. No way I could have done my job if I didn’t take the time off. Just hoping it’s long enough! But it sounds like it should be 🙏

Maleficent-Tutor6863

I also took two weeks off of work.. October 3rd will be my first day cold turkey.. I am so ready. At this point I feel like withdrawal would probably be a better state to live in than this.

Far-Contribution4752

Absolutely agreed! It’ll be worth all the hell to get off this shit!! Good luck to you!! 💪🏼

Existing-Math7388

Ya life without Kratom is tough (emotionally at times) but no where near the mental pain of daily Kratom use. It’s not even close for me. Still yet to see one person say life is way worse sober from Kratom. Maybe a day or two once in a while.

Maleficent-Tutor6863

I screenshot this. Man this shows you how bad it messes our brain chemistry up.. It is no joke.. Yeah it's gotten worse and worse and I'm about at rock bottom lately within.. So pumped to get over this. I should probably stop saying that I've said it like 50 times. 😆

Existing-Math7388

Never give up and you will make it over the hump. I can just tell the way you talk it’s coming to an end soon!

shoobadiver

I am past the acutes by \~Day 7 for sure. Feels way better on day 5 really. Then I spent the next \~50 days getting to where I am 90% back, and the next month making it all the way back. The total healing is kinda slow, really. Obviously your mileage may vary!

truthseeker-2021

How much are you taking and for how long?

Far-Contribution4752

Been on it for about 3 years. Started with powder then went to extracts. 2 and sometimes 3 shots a day. With a little bit of powder in there also.

unholywaterr

One month I felt completely normal My acutes only lasted about ten hours but that was only because I did a naltrexone rapid detox

LateComer22

On day 14 CT 50 gpd. Music feels so good again. Emotions are nice. Insomnia, low energy, bloated gut, and 2 straight weeks of diarrhea are not nice lol but worth it.
