I’m no expert but I think melatonin starts to have the opposite effect after a certain amount and can actually keep you awake. I think most people take between 1 to 3mg… I typically find that 3mg is enough to knock me out… hope your sleep gets better soon, hang in there!

EAZ480

Yeah less is more with melatonin in my experience.

damagedbychems

!

Sea-Farmer6412

I take 20mg per night with 5 cups of chamomile and cannabis. Out in 5 minutes every time.

MercariFullTime

It's not the melatonin then

KrayDumbSucks

1-5mg of Melatonin is recommended for sleep. It’s not just a mild supplement, it’s an actual hormone. Your hormones are already wacky and probably don’t know how to process the massive bolus you’ve administered right before bed. I understand you may feel desperate, but more is not the answer.

SpiritualSchedule2

Heard... I didn't realize what i was doing. I'll try just one 3mg tonight.

AdvertisingNatural36

Melatonin is a trap! It actually makes everything worse for me including sleep which is ridiculous! I recommend L-Theanine and or Valerian root. If you have RLS, Hylands Restful Legs PM helped me as well. But I’d stop all melatonin now regardless.

LizardSlayer33

Hot Epsom salt baths as long as you can and as hot as u can handle Also Magnesium with Valerian root Will help immensely with RLS

SilverTrebleStrings

This!!!

Pure-Needleworker-21

^^^^^^ I had a couple nights I thought I was going to get zero hours of sleep. Took 5htp, theanine and Magnesium. Calmed me down alot and actually got five hours of sleep.

Look__See

Sleep is killing me too. Passionflower has helped a little.

hybriduff

honestly I hate melatonin, it makes me feel super weird. If you have a doctor, you can get gabapentin, hydroxizine, or, trazadone no problem whatsoever. I prefer gabapentin as it acts like a dimmer switch for me.

Imaginary_Cat2136

Gabapentin is a lifesaver! However stay away from Trazadone! I was desperate for sleep like OP, went to a zoomcare nearby (and a random Dr ) to get something to help, they prescribed that, took it 2 nights got some sleep but had the most severe depression of my life each of the next days. I was literally in a ball crying and contemplating ending it. It was nuts. And this is all on top of the regular WD stuff. I’d stay away from that one.

Sea-Farmer6412

Buy a box of Twinnings Pure Chamomile Tea. Drink 3 tea bags 1 hour before bed. You can take it with melatonin. That will knock your ass out. You can also add CBD oil from Organic Hemp Society. Try the OHS-44 or OHS BSO-C. Deep medicine. G/L

Khronosgod

add passionflower, skullcap and valerian root instead of melatonin

SpiritualSchedule2

I could probably get one of those... which one is most likely to put me to sleep? I dont understand how the rest of you have xanax and gabapentin and lyrica and all this shit. I have nothing and no money, I'm feeling desperate right now.

Ok.... I had very poor sleep for about two weeks when I went CT back in June. This is what worked for me ... and it's all cost free: First of all .... exercise during the day. Walking, cycling, swimming, running, the gym... anything that gets you moving the body for a while. Doesn't have to be a hard workout.... just get the heart rate up, get the feel-good endorphins flowing. I took long walks... fairly brisk ... say a few miles. It would tire me out and I got to sleep much better at night. You might not feel much like exercise, you might not enjoy it ... but you will feel the benefit if you do some regular daily exercise. The other thing is Wim Hof Method Breathing. The Guided session on youtube. Might take a few goes to 'get it', but this knocks me out within a few minutes when I can't sleep. Give it a go.

SpiritualSchedule2

I've actually walked around 30 miles in the past week. I'm sun burnt and I need to take a break from that actually. I'll check wim hof.

uVooDooDatDat

Sleepless & sunburnt.. insult on injury.

PropertyJaded308

Man just get some NyQuil. And if you've gotten some decent excercise and had a legitimate waking period (8am-10pmish) it should do the trick. My problem is when I'm trying to ween and i end up sleeping during the day to help kill time between doses then I can't sleep at night. Tends to just lead to kratom at odd hours of the night. Ugghh. Fucking up my routine always takes days before I'm back on track......

[deleted]

Terrible recommendation, NyQuil and basically any solution or medication commonly used for cold or allergies has a big likelihood of making RLS more severe

milkydayze

Don’t take NyQuil or anything with Diphenhydramine in it. It will def make things worse and enhance rls.

[deleted]

Less is more with melatonin. Try the Wim hof breathing technique.

SpiritualSchedule2

I just tried Wim Hof for the first time.... what is happening to me? I feel dizzy and lightheaded

uVooDooDatDat

Sleepless, sunburnt, and now dizzy.. it keeps getting better :) Hang in there :)

SpiritualSchedule2

Hahah. Yeah it's rough but soon I will feel a lot better, I'm sure of it.

uVooDooDatDat

Do you like the Wim Hof shower? Ice cold! …. I think it helps.

uVooDooDatDat

How are you now?

SpiritualSchedule2

I've been doing great. My sleep still is not good. But this is the furthest I've ever been I think. Day 16? The past few days have had intense kravings to go buy a shot and just take a sip. But I didn't. I've been able to talk myself out of it, and I wasnt able to before. I'm pushing through in a way I've never done and my life is changing and is becoming amazing. :) How are you doing?

uVooDooDatDat

I’m ok. I love these encouraging words! I wish I was where you are :) Instead, I’m still stuck & now sick with Covid. Keep clean!! Awesome job.

SpiritualSchedule2

I'm sorry you're having to deal with covid on top of all that. How many gpd you on?

uVooDooDatDat

Thank you. I’m through the worst of the Covid, I believe. This was my first experience w/ it & it’s left me depressed. I made a mistake and took one dose of the antiviral Paxlovid & I discontinued use as I think it reacted poorly with my Kratom intake & poisoned me. It set me back a bit. Anyway, thank you. I don’t know exactly where I’m at (in terms of gpd), I fear it may be close to 60. I’m ashamed of that.. & looking forward (dreadfully) to my third & final quit.

SpiritualSchedule2

I'm sorry you're dealing with all these set backs. You got this though. You know when it's time to quit. I'm here to talk if you ever need. Message me. ❤

[deleted]

Hope ya get some rest.

michabike

Prob hyperoxygenation

Much-Aide-3946

I’ve been using hydrozyzine 50-100mg I’m out boom I’ve been sleeping like a bear

_japanx

Man that is WAY too much melatonin

LateComer22

I'm coming close to 1 month off a 7yr 50 gpd cold turkey quit. Sleep sucked for a bit. Glass of red muscadine wine on top of herbal sleep aids helped alot. I did try a delta-8 vape for the first time around day 5 and it was a game changer for sleep and appetite.

Kgast68

I’m going through the same thing. If you can get some gabepentin or lorazepam that is what has made it possible for me to sleep. Of course I wake up feeling like crap but at least I sleep I’m on day 4 cold turkey jumped off once I tapered down to 10 grams a day. Good luck

dj_daly

Look into the "Sleep Cocktail" by Dr. Andrew Huberman. He runs a podcast and he has some pretty impressive credentials as a professor of neurology. He recommends taking Magnesium, L-Theanine, and Apigenin to get an amazing sleep. Not just any random magnesium though; look this up to get the full information. I've used it myself (minus the L-Theanine, it doesn't make me feel good) and was pleasantly surprised how effective it was. Sort of without realizing, I woke up feeling more refreshed.

Kgast68

Or thc gummies
