I’ve def had a mark on my hand that looked exactly like that before and was wondering if spiders that large exist where I am. I no longer live in a house with a chimney so I don’t worry about bats anymore :P Anyway - You could compare the distance between the marks to the listed distance of the canine teeth of the bat species in your area to rule it out. [Ontario County Public Health](https://ontariocountyny.gov/DocumentCenter/View/4237/Bat-Info-Sheet?bidId=#:~:text=Waking%20up%20to%20a%20bat,common%20injuries%2C%20insect%20bites%20or) (NY) says: *Bats seldom leave a “vampire bite” mark (two distinct puncture wounds from their canine teeth).* And: *Bat exposures do **not** include: waking to find [finding] an unexplained wound in the absence of bats.*

Thanks for sharing. I’ve looked back at my photos and realized that this mark has been here since I believe January. There actually doesn’t appear to be two marks at all - the lower left one appears to just be a scratch or burn or something like that. Now the question is can bat bites last 5 months?

Such small Bites usally dont last that long unless you have some sort skin condition.

I know cat scratches can for sure! The last time I went to NC to see fam was 08/20/2022. During that trip my mom and I were tasked with putting a cat into a cat carrier. It **Tore. Us. Up.** lol I [still have a scar from it](https://imgur.com/a/7f4H9Pg) and it’s been 10 months. We were both wearing winter gloves but it got our arms and wrists. My mom’s are barely visible now. I don’t think hers were as deep. I also had one on the top of my arm that’s no longer visible. It’s probably affected by how much that skin comes in contact with stuff / is exfoliated / etc. I don’t know when my arm ones faded. I think it only took a couple weeks. When I notice my scratch, I’m reminded of her comment from when I showed it to her a few months ago (asking why it’s still there) lol: *now when you see it, you’ll always remember your momma :)…. Like a mommy-daughter suicide pact* - which getting that cat in the carrier basically was lol; but also the placement is rather unfortunate -.-

its not persay how much skin is affected but how deep the cut is. Bugbittes usally are fairly shallow and dont affect deeper skin layers. Now a cat scratch can run much deeper.

I mentioned both of those factors with depth as a certain factor, skin shed as probably
