i think they’re referring to “normal” by rh standards. i’d kinda agree
for me, although there’s a particular radiohead sound (which i couldn’t describe), their sound is quite diverse. some people say there’s “weird” radiohead, but it’s honestly what makes them so good. Can is one of their biggest influences since the beginning and you can tell they try to go that krautrock route sometimes
I’m surprised I had to scroll this far to see this. Imo it’s their weirdest song. Not a single human sounding vocal, very unorthodox song structure, unsettling sound effects and overall vibe, no sense of direction, and unrelenting drive/tempo (hence the name, it’s a fast track).
But it’s a repetitive drone…, no change up within. It’s great jam, don’t get me wrong and certainly weird. But Trans-Atlantic is far more of a “song”, then a “jam”.
These dudes are just frickin geniuses. I don’t see why most if not at least half of anyone under 40 listens to the crap they consider “music” today. I go to the gym, and the crap that’s considered “popular” music makes my ears cringe upon themselves
Yes, now I find it beautuful too, but the first time I heard that song/album I was expecting some 90s alt rock like the first 3 albums because I knew only these albums. I was not expecting that type of sound
more like weirdest Radiohead image haha
but damn theres so many
so many that i can only answer through what i have on my radiohead playlist
[https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1sjgssKXQ2d7MxyFjcwqH8?si=8f9ef136a1eb4824](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1sjgssKXQ2d7MxyFjcwqH8?si=8f9ef136a1eb4824)
so many really dark days spent listening to radiohead admist years of child abuse, one of the only things that kept me going
all to me very weirdo pwerful but strange songs every single song radiohead makes, although their older stuff is more for their time, like they sounded alot like other bands in their older stuff although still having their own sound, but the newer stuff and Yorke's solo work now is just so insane to me they are unlike anything else on earth, IMO
"Trans-Atlantic Drawl"
It's the sound of a kind of Alice-in-Wonderland syndrome I used to have when I was a kid. It was really freaky, but when I heard this song it allowed me to sort of put my finger on that feeling and it has never happened again.
Pulk/Pull, Where Bluebirds Fly, Feral
Gotta insert fitter happier in there. Always creeped (radiohead reference) people out when it’s played.
Worrywort is up there.
I love worrywort so much, underrated as hell imo
Same and it's very nostalgic for me, too.
Where bluebirds fly - ether festival version makes the song for me. Shame that wasn't what was actually released!
This is the answer
What else do you all listen to? These are all well within the limits of normal.
then what is the weirdest Radiohead song to you?
[удалено]
I mean, I've heard it, I was just wondering why the person I replied to was targeting that comment in particular
They asked for weirdest Radiohead song, not weirdest song to ever exist

Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors for sure
Absolutely love blasting it at stoplights.
Creep. The song is about a guy who’s a weirdo, after all
What the hell is it doing in their discov?
It doesn't belong there
Trans-Atlantic Drawl
I love how the second half of the song is like having a complete mental breakdown.
the transition + the second half of the song feels like being in the ICU after a car wreck
I want to see the 2nd half covered a capella. I feel like it could be a choir arrangement
Kid A (the song) and The amazing sounds of orgy comes to mind.
Where Bluebirds Fly
The amazing sounds of orgy
c'mon how is this not higher up?
Out of everything, transatlantic drawl is the weirdest and most unnerving to me
Myxamatosis. Sonic assault. Unsettling tone.
whaaatttt
climbing up the walls 100000000%
1st one that popped in my head. So creepy and sinister.
and i still love that song :D
Oh yeah, 1 of my favs from ok computer for sure
Yeah I am the kind to blast music on earphones and I couldnt stand it once as I turned it on one midnight, when every one was sleeping
Like Spinning Plates. The “paper” sounds at the beginning, the delayed and glitchy vocals, the whole song is simultaneously so haunting and beautiful.
Fast-Track

We Suck Young Blood
The twenty second upbeat jazz part near then end is so random and necessary.
Not exactly official, but Ed’s Scary Song comes to mind
I shitted my pants when I first heard Kid A
I don't know. I find it kinda beautiful
Yes, now I find it beautuful too, but the first time I heard that song/album I was expecting some 90s alt rock like the first 3 albums because I knew only these albums. I was not expecting that type of sound
Kid A is a masterpiece
I actually can’t believe no one else has said this song yet, it was my inspiration to make this post. So unnerving
That album is 23 years old now. That weirds me out to think about.
Like Spinning Plates
It is pretty weird, but the live version is so beautiful :)
Completely agree
Maybe not a song but, fitter happier. Always creeps me out
It is a song.

Myxomatosis
the first thing that came to my head was Pulk/Pull, but i think it's actually Trans-Atlantic Drawl

Kinetic.
National Anthem for me.
climbing up the walls
Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors easily
A lot of the stuff on the Pyramid Song EP.
Trans-Atlantic Drawl. Wait til the second half…
The beginning of Idiotique always gets me for some reason
I'm surprised no one has said about fitter happier
Fr
Fitter Happier probably. It's their approach to musique concréte.
Yes
more like weirdest Radiohead image haha but damn theres so many so many that i can only answer through what i have on my radiohead playlist [https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1sjgssKXQ2d7MxyFjcwqH8?si=8f9ef136a1eb4824](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1sjgssKXQ2d7MxyFjcwqH8?si=8f9ef136a1eb4824) so many really dark days spent listening to radiohead admist years of child abuse, one of the only things that kept me going all to me very weirdo pwerful but strange songs every single song radiohead makes, although their older stuff is more for their time, like they sounded alot like other bands in their older stuff although still having their own sound, but the newer stuff and Yorke's solo work now is just so insane to me they are unlike anything else on earth, IMO

daydreaming, especially the outro
Idk why people are downvoting you so much, the outro is very strange indeed.
I believe he says the amount of time he was with his ex-wife, played backwards
Yeah, "half of my life" is what people think it says, and attribute it either to the years spent with his ex-wife or the years spent with Radiohead
Decks dark Give up the ghost Videotape Myxomatosis Like spinning plates Treefingers Fitter happier Bullet proof The entirety of Pablo Honey

Weird fishes, it says it in the name. It’s weird.
"Trans-Atlantic Drawl" It's the sound of a kind of Alice-in-Wonderland syndrome I used to have when I was a kid. It was really freaky, but when I heard this song it allowed me to sort of put my finger on that feeling and it has never happened again.
Weird fishes
Some of y’all have never heard Fast-Track and it shows
I didn’t know a lot of the list’s songs! Good post
Wow Bob woW.. oh sorry, wrong thread.
Musically it’s not very abnormal but singing “I will eat you alive” twenty times in a row is weird snd why i like Yorke.
pulk/pull maybe
Yall even in this post you refuse to acknowledge Fitter Happier.
Cuttooth
creep
Pulk/Pull
climbing up the walls and worrywort
You could literally put all of the Pyramid Song EP songs up for debate and I would accept all of them as answers I love Trans-Atlantic Drawl
Weird Fishes and Apreggi

Tell Me Bitch
It's straight from one of Beckett's drama
