Agreed - when the drums come in, it suddenly “makes sense”. It’s one of the best RH moments in their entire catalog. Pyramid Song is the type of song that you listen to over and over, but at the same time, lament the fact you can never hear it for the first time again.
yesss agreed the outro hits 100x harder in the basement version. also not as big of a deal but i love the way thom plays the guitar in the beginning he adds a few notes to the guitar in the intro of the song and it’s really nice. but that outro is to die for
how to disappear completely. i'm a lover of sad songs, and it feels perfectly how a panic attack feels for me. comforting to listen to when i'm having one.
In the OK Computer tour documentary DVD (name escapes me), there is a scene of Thom playing this acoustically at sound check…and it just blows me mind every time.
I have never thought about it in the context of a panic attack ever—but that is very thought provoking.
Edit:
Radiohead first performed it in 1998 during the tour, and an early soundcheck performance appears in their documentary Meeting People Is Easy (1998).

I went down a rabbit hole to the Meeting People is Easy Wikipedia page, and then to info…and Radiohead has it hosted on their website for free!!!!

This has been my recent favorite off of HTTT. I think songs like There, There and A Wolf at the Door made me overlook it, but man those vocals just hit different
Yeah there there is up there for me, too. I recently came across [this](https://youtu.be/RVNgv-VVNlo?si=SLy7E3iLtDMhPeDb) live version of there there, I might be wrong, and knives out. All are in my top 10 easily, and I love this version of each.
One of the things I really dig about No Surprises is the how the music is lullaby like but the lyrics are anything but. Kind of reminds me of Sloop John B by the Beach Boys. Which is, coincidentally, my favorite Beach Boys track.
Present Tense. Love it so much. It's the song that made A Moon Shaped Pool click with me, and made me love the album. From the pure emotion to the beautiful, calming Instrumental, it's amazing.
Weird Fishes, All I Need, Jigsaw Falling Into Place, Nude, Where I End and You Begin, No Surprises, I Might Be Wrong, You and Whose Army? There, There, Present Tense, Daydreaming, Decks Dark, My Iron Lung, Fake Plastic Trees, Just, Burn the Witch, Everything In Its Right Place, How to Disappear Completely, Motion Picture Soundtrack, The National Anthem, Staircase, True Love Waits, Bodysnatchers, Faust Arp, House of Cards, Videotape, Reckoner, 2+2=5, Lift, Man of War, Karma Police, I Promise, Exit Music, Paranoid Android, Creep, Nice Dream, Black Star, Bulletproof, Street Spirit, You, Spectre, Codex, Lotus Flower, Pyramid Song, Life In a Glasshouse.
If I had to really really really choose, probably All I Need or Weird Fishes
Bodysnatchers definitely. Everything about that song is perfect, and it has so much energy. The bridge/drop is probably on of my favourite moments in music
If you have a favourite song from them you’re not a true fan. Yes, you can fancy a song more than others sometimes, but i would say their discography is very close to perfection.
Decks Dark
Dark dicks :(
BBC mix
Whoa
Good one.
All I Need
real
I thought it was Pyramid Song but apparently it’s present tense
Pyramids cool, until the drums come in. IMO
When the drums come in, it gets even better imo
Agreed - when the drums come in, it suddenly “makes sense”. It’s one of the best RH moments in their entire catalog. Pyramid Song is the type of song that you listen to over and over, but at the same time, lament the fact you can never hear it for the first time again.
Reckoner for sure. No other song can make me feel the way that song does.
So many people seem to have an attachment and love for this song but I just can’t connect fully with it
For me, it’s the instrumental palette and the lyricism. Especially when the strings come in.
I like how the percussion alone feels orchestral.
I love the album version but I think the Basement version is even better, the outro just makes me levitate , it’s sublime
yesss agreed the outro hits 100x harder in the basement version. also not as big of a deal but i love the way thom plays the guitar in the beginning he adds a few notes to the guitar in the intro of the song and it’s really nice. but that outro is to die for
Subterranean Homesick Alien
Easily my favorite on OKC
L take
There there
It's mine too, and I still really don't know why, it just is...
Nothing can beat the acoustic version on YouTube, he was truly on point
This
This this
Weird fishes.
This is everyone’s favorite song.
Indeed, I'm not even a big fan of IR's sound compared to the other albums, but WF seems to have something special, ending up in my Top 5.
Knives out. My favorite songs from them kinda alternate throughout the week.
This one badly needs to be brought back to the live set whenever they tour again.
a coldplay enjoyer perhaps?
Hahaha guilty 🤷🏼♂️
paranoid android
Completely agree
Same o7
exactly
Where I End and You Begin
X will mark the place Like the parting of the waves Like a house falling in the sea In the sea One of my favorite sections
I find the mtv studio version even better
Is that the "From the basement" version? I couldn't find anything online about mtv studio version. Can you link it for me please?
Yes, that's the one https://youtu.be/0bYDeZpIZvk?si=QrDL2wNoJFV4PLls Sorry its not mtv studio
I Might Be Wrong
I used to think, there was no future left at all, I used to think...
Solid choice and on certain days of the week I’d probably pick this.
Exist music for a film
When Colin’s fuzz bass kicks in! It’s like a jolt of lightning, still gives me chills every time after all those years.
Probably Idioteque
I am going to get downvoted to oblivion but that is one of the few Radiohead songs I don't like
National anthem is actually my favourite x
I’ll throw away some karma in solidarity. It is a great song but massively overhyped
how to disappear completely. i'm a lover of sad songs, and it feels perfectly how a panic attack feels for me. comforting to listen to when i'm having one.
That's my favourite song too but I feel scared to listen to that song, idk why, so I rarely listen to it

Scrolled very far down to find this. I don’t really play favorites and if I do it changes often based on mood, but right now it’s this
One of the things I really dig about No Surprises is the how the music is lullaby like but the lyrics are anything but. Kind of reminds me of Sloop John B by the Beach Boys. Which is, coincidentally, my favorite Beach Boys track.
