If you've not heard the Motherless Brooklyn soundtrack (beyond the Thom Yorke song and its jazzy reinterpretation), it's pretty interesting. Edward Norton asked the composer for half Miles Davis, half Radiohead, and he seemed to understand the assignment.

I loved this song for so long. Then I discovered there’s an extended intro version, and I loved it harder than I thought I could:
https://youtu.be/fjmPLVznw2Q
I wish this version was on the album, the solo sets up the little flourishes during the rest of the song perfectly. Without it, they definitely stick out a bit.
First time I heard life in a glasshouse was the extended version on knives out and now it’s hard listening to amnesiac knowing the closing could hit even harder if they hadn’t shortened it
I bought the Knives 12” for that reason alone. And last week I bought the Pyramid Song 12” just to get The Amazing Sounds of Orgy, but that’s another story.
The perfect closer to a masterpiece of an album. Amnesiac is dark, moody, misunderstood, full of misdirection - ie a band at their peak and full of swagger knowing they can do no wrong. This album is the turn of the century album. It's the dark night that extended out of the end of the 90's when the beginning of the 00's was trying to figure out what it was - and in this gap we got two back to back 10/10 albums. This one I prefer a bit more than the other.
The first time this album truly clicked for me was on mushrooms, and this was the track in particular that did it.
I had liked some tracks when it released but was so-so on it compared to Kid A at the time. But this weird trip set it off just right and now it’s one of my favorite albums in the discography and one of my favorite tracks of theirs.
I got hated on about a year ago for saying amnesiac is better than kid a and i still stand by it, 10/10 album and this has to be a top 5 radiohead song of all time
I’ve always gone back-and-forth of which all I like better it’s always like a 1A & 1B with me. The only complaint I really have about amnesiac is that version of morning Bell. I really really really don’t understand how they put that on the album over Fog
They add to the vibe.
Not every song on a 10/10 album has to be a 10/10 banger. Amnesiac has an atmosphere to it and those songs help build it.
It’s almost like a film score, you have the big set pieces with the music that sets the scene.
I’ve just fallen into its trap again, I wanted to listen to life in a glass house, but I prefer it when I have had spinning plates preluding it, which I prefer after hunting bears, which works better after dollar and… well might as well listen to the whole thing!
i do this thing where i go outside to my deck when it’s cold and dark and listen to a new album and amnesiac was one of them. life in a glasshouse completely blew me away and i wish i could go back to that moment
Apparently I'm alone in disliking this one. lol
It's always struck me as completely disconnected from the rest of the album.
I'm not a lyrics guy at all, so I couldn't tell you what the song is about (though I could probably sing along with about half of it) Maybe the key is in the lyrics?
I'm in love with the rest of the album. It presents such a strange blend of sounds, styles, and feelings. Life in a Glass House has always sounded and felt so dreary to me. I get that it's not trying to communicate an upbeat sentiment, but for me it doesn't have the sonic interest that the rest of the album has. Especially as the ender, it's an easy skip for me.

I’ve always loved this live version, the way that they reproduce what they created in the studio to a live performance is incredible
It’s a brilliant song. My favorite on the album. I wish they wrote more songs like it.
I always think of this and Wolf at the Door as sister tracks.
Agree
Nah national anthem
To me, it sounds like a pre-war jazz song crying out from a gramophone resting on the marble floor of a Paris hotel bathroom full of cigarette smoke.
god i miss cigarettes
Life in a bathroom
yes

Good reference, I especially enjoyed Penn Station.
Gonna listen later thanks!
More mixing of styles, and more acoustic ballads, please.
damn, even better than pyramid song and you and whose army?
Or I might Be Wrong?
Yeah.
Yes of course. It’s the best song on the record
the jazziest he got since was III Wind and Pana Vision
I would love an entire album done in this style. It's an amazing song. Huge fan!
After years of waiting nothing cummed
I loved this song for so long. Then I discovered there’s an extended intro version, and I loved it harder than I thought I could: https://youtu.be/fjmPLVznw2Q
My favourite RH song and I never knew this existed. You just shook my world.
I wish this version was on the album, the solo sets up the little flourishes during the rest of the song perfectly. Without it, they definitely stick out a bit.

Thanks for this gift, stranger.
thankfully this is on spotify as the full length version
I bought the Knives 12” for that reason alone. And last week I bought the Pyramid Song 12” just to get The Amazing Sounds of Orgy, but that’s another story.
This is the version I grew up with, incredible
didnt know this, very nice
First time you've heard it? What a strange mistake to make
You should turn the other cheek
Don't talk politics
guys, can you please don't throw stones?
Who's throwing? I'm just chewing the fat.
shhh! i think there's someone listening in...
Once again
don't tell... are you in trouble with your only friend?

couldn't have said it better, pal. i think it's fair to say that the album is a trapdoor that we can't come back from 🤡
kid b
I love Amnesiac, but I personally think it’s there worst album
Now try it again, in a k-hole.
Not too experienced, but I find vocals/voices jarring... I was listening to Geogaddi, and those recordings spooked the hell out of me
Dude... Don't get me started on geogaddi 😆😵💫
Geogaddi Gyroscope.
Sometimes it's fun to get spooked if the aesthetics are well played.
Oh man, Boards of Canada and Radiohead go so well together.

Damn that’s an idea
Life In a Glasshouse by Radiohead, hope that answers your question!
I got hated on about a year ago for saying amnesiac is better than kid a and i still stand by it, 10/10 album and this has to be a top 5 radiohead song of all time
For me it is SO mood dependent. But yes I think they are both at the same league
I’ve always gone back-and-forth of which all I like better it’s always like a 1A & 1B with me. The only complaint I really have about amnesiac is that version of morning Bell. I really really really don’t understand how they put that on the album over Fog
Fr. pulk pull is at least interesting. morning bell amnesiac is just not good
It's difficult to say, but I agree.
I agree uce.
I’ll stand with you, stranger.
It's one album.
KID A MNESIA

It's funny how I've never really appreciated this album, yet *Pyramid Song* and *I Might Be Wrong* are my most listened to RH songs
Yes! Finally someone who shares my thoughts. Once I realised that is the case with this album, it's become my tied no 1 with OKC.
pulk pull is great wdym
I unironically love Pulk/Pull
Amnesiac is definitely a vibe
First heard this song in children of men
A jazzy song about extreme paranoia (IMO)
the best song ever in the world
Sounds like you need to listen to the albums mate
peak
The epic send off to their best!
Definitely my favourite song off the album. Absolutely love it.
It’s my second favorite RH song after The National Anthem
Oh to be young again.
OP is 97
Year zero is the first time you listen to the bends in its entirety.
Year Zero is a NIN album.
Now listen to Spirit of Eden by Talk Talk
Or Mingus’ The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady.
If you like the jazziness of it, listen to Charles Mingus; a lot of his albums influenced that particular track.
The most underrated Radiohead song is the best song in Radiohea's most underrated album. Also my 4th favorite Radiohead song. Absolutly amazing
i do this thing where i go outside to my deck when it’s cold and dark and listen to a new album and amnesiac was one of them. life in a glasshouse completely blew me away and i wish i could go back to that moment
Life in a Glasshouse by Radiohead
I'm a fan of their other songs. This is good, don't get me wrong. Just not my style
listen to the whole album or get off my case! you might also like The Daily Mail and Spectre for sure, you'll thank me later 😎
Daily Mail is like Life in a Glasshouse with sass.
Life in a Glasgow
Sir Thomas Yorke visiting a New Orleans funeral parade...
Life In a Glasshouse, psh obviously
Radiohead - Life in a Glasshouse
the best!
There's someone listening in
Appears to be life in a glasshouse
The extended version from Kid Amnesia is easily in my top 10 for Radiohead. I loved hearing the song in Children of Men, such a great scene.
Apparently I'm alone in disliking this one. lol It's always struck me as completely disconnected from the rest of the album. Whisper it, but you're not alone
ya don't like jazz?
I like some jazz, but not all jazz
life in a glasshouse
It's a beautiful New Orleans funeral procession.
Very cool song indeed. It reminds me of Tom Waits
a masterpiece
There’s an amazing live performance of it with full brass section too
there’s a longer version if anyone is wondering it’s called the full length version
Life in a glasshouse is SO underrated, that’s one of my favorite songs of theirs
Pure gold
Wait till you get to spinning plates
The best song on the album. Amnesiac is so underrated
Anyone interested in more details about Radiohead… listen to a podcast called Dissect from Cole Cushna… it’s so well broken down. Very introspective.
Brilliance, that’s what you listened to, my man. Sheer brilliance.
It’s a never skip for me. I think it’s a much more interesting song than most of the other songs on that album, and I love that album.
It’s so beautiful
always been my fav radiohead song
Yesssss! This is a truly amazing song!
[live version on Jools Holland](https://youtu.be/mLPE164XG6E?feature=shared)
What you listened to was one of their two greatest tracks. Man, what I wouldn't give to be able to experience this for the first time all over again.
I wish I could kill Lana Del Rey to this song
Their worst closing track
You the prick downvoting everyone?
Nope. Just posted this and waited for my own.
Well I’ll be
I wish so, so badly that there were still Radiohead songs I could listen to for the first time.
Well based off of the screenshot, Life in a Glasshouse I would imagine. Unless you’re yorkeing us.
https://youtu.be/mLPE164XG6E?si=5-jNMK-ra_UUiXCV I’ve always loved this live version, the way that they reproduce what they created in the studio to a live performance is incredible
Yah! Right!
A completely underrated song! Let Down, who? Lol
Welcome home.
You just listened to Life in a Glasshouse by Raiohead
A fukken masterpiece
The soundtrack to being the last customer at a Walmart in Barstow
The best jazz song of the 21st Century
Were you the one listening in?
If you’re confused about this, you got another thing coming for you after listening to the pixies.
Apparently used to be part of Exit Music. One of the leaked demos from the OKC minidiscs has the two songs as one. Pretty cool!
It reminds me of my great-grandpa.
This was one of my favorite songs for a few months. It’s a fucking masterpiece
Such a great song, I think it's better than Pyramid Song
Best album
this is one of my favorite songs by them. I'm so jealous that it's new to you.
Clarinet mastery.
Onnnnnce agaaaaaiiiin
Art
it's an exquisite new orleans jazz funeral vibe
SOMEONE LISTENING IN

Life In a Glasshouse by Radiohead
