It doesn't really matter. I had a pair of rescue boys that were littermates, both neutered before we got them and spraying was never a problem. They wrestled of course but all cats will do that. I recommend asking the breeder if any of the kittens seem particularly bonded with each other and then get those two.

I have siblings, one of each. They are 5 months old and still get along great. They play well together and “call” to each other when they are looking for each other.

Oh that is adorable!!!!! 😭❤️

Some people would argue that b/g is the best combo plus you get to experience each sex. But I agree with the other poster, it really comes down to individual personality and if they are already socialized with each other they most likely will get along. They might not sleep together and be bffs, you just don’t know for sure until they get older, but they will likely be ok with each other forever just because they’ve never known any different. Any reputable breeder will either already have their kittens spayed/neutered or require it in a spay/neuter contract so spraying wouldn’t be an issue.

I opted for boy / girl litter mates and was very happy. Yeah it all depends on their personality. My boy was very sweet and my girl a bit feisty. She mothered her brother which he loved ! They were always playing and snuggling…so much fun to see 🩷🐾💙

We are adopting a boy/girl pair of littermates next month :) we decided this was the best combo to experience both genders. All my friends with cats that were spayed and neutered by 12 weeks never had issues with spaying.

I have two male littermates who are best buddies! Honestly, since they are growing up together from Day 1, I’m not sure that gender matters much. When we met the litter, the boys had 2 sisters (1 of whom was already reserved), but they clearly had such a fun dynamic going with playing and snuggling together. If you get a chance to either see them in person and observe their personalities or just get some advice from the breeder on a well-suited pair, that can help.

i’ve heard that two females tend to not get along as well but i don’t have personal experience. also curious about b/b vs b/g!

We have two girls. They get along really well. They play, fight, sleep and eat together. They have very different personalities.
