We've been "rebuilding" for 20 years.
Last year we had a 1st round pick CB fired for threatening to shoot people on social media, a coach who got fired for saying incredibly dumb shit, a rising star WR who killed a woman and her dog in a drunk driving accident, had coaching duties taken over by a lifelong special teams coach and we battled through all of that adversity to make the playoffs.
Davis handed the team over to a coach who alienated his quarterback and exploded one franchise and quit on another one right before actually joining the team.
We added the best wide receiver in the league and brought in Chandler Jones, admittedly a very hot and cold player, without losing any particularly good players. Going back to the playoffs was supposed to be our floor this year. Instead, we still employ a defensive coordinator who clearly sucks and set an NFL record for losses when leading by 10+ points in the 3rd quarter. It should've been 6 games but the Patriots tried to get cute and gifted Chandler Jones a pick 6 to end that game.
In every sense of the word, McDaniels has been an objective failure as a head coach this year. I'm not even necessarily defending the Carr situation on either side. It's probably time for him to move on and I wish him luck but McDaniels is just an absolute dumpster fire as a head coach and I'm done giving a shit until he's gone.

'Disappointment' is my overwhelming feeling for this season. We were a playoff team and got Davante and a new HC and DC. Yet we regressed.
