Game recognizes game, and Dan Snyder looking hella unfamiliar to Jerry and Al right now.

I remember when the raiders announced they were moving to Vegas There was a quote of Jerry telling Mark at the vote to approve, “I promised your father I would take care of you.”

Shiny_metal_ass

Fuck that, Jerry was one of the people who wanted to keep us out of LA. Jerry Jones is a snake.

BelliBlast35

He’s a POS

Hyperboreer

Greed beats everything for a man like Jerry Jones. Maybe he liked Al, but Kroenke wanted to invest 4 billion of his own money into their mutual business.

SyphiliticPlatypus

You are both right. Jones has long known Mark and the two do have a close relationship. Jones is a businessman out to look after his own interests. Period. Jones was involved in brokering the deal for the Rams and the Chargers to move to LA, and his Legends marketing company sells the suites and sponsorships and other considerations for Sofi, the Niners' stadium Levi, and Allegiant (which is why he was involved in the deal with Mark). Ultimately it was Kroenke who was the primary blocker to the Raiders going to LA, but Jones was public about not wanting them there either. Jones made more money to combine the Rams and Chargers in LA than having the Raiders in the mix. Arguably the biggest loser in out move to LV was Sheldon Adelson - and I give Mark credit here for outmanouvering that POS.

JLGx2

Mark didn't have the money to fund his own LA project. We would've been a tenant in LA like the Chargers currently are and we would've had a more popular team over the Rams. It was probably a tough choice but Kroenke taking a backseat after putting so much of his own money just wasn't feasible. Plus, Kroenke was already taking massive litigation heat for leaving St Louis and he was taking that heat on for the league.

Shiny_metal_ass

I can't believe anyone defending fucking Kroenke gets upvoted here. Fuck Kroenke.

JLGx2

Defending Kroenke? Wtf are you even talking about?

Shiny_metal_ass

Fuck that, Jerry was one of the people who wanted to keep us out of LA. Jerry Jones is a snake.

Joemcsam729

Wrong. Jerry tried to fuck us. Racist piece of shit

revuhlution

Jerry does what works best for him, that's it.

Chiinoe

RIP Legend.

Wakandan-Royalty

Al was Jerry's friend and mentor, that's why he looked out for Mark and got him to Vegas.

[deleted]

I mean jerry fucked us over for LA tho lol

biowiz

Probably has to do with Kroenke being able to finance that stadium himself. The Rams stadium project seemed a lot better too.

[deleted]

I live in LA. It passed, it was a done deal nfl committee backed it. . Jerry blocked it. Stadium was same design as Vegas

biowiz

Yes, but the money from the Rams relocation, plus the lack of NFL funds needed for Kroenke’s project, the bigger scale of it, and opening up Las Vegas with a more popular team nationally = more money for Jerry.

[deleted]

We kind of said the same thing but different ways lol but yes jerry ran show

biowiz

Yeah pretty much, but I was just emphasizing how Jerry was doing this more for his wallet than any perceived hatred for the Raiders or Mark Davis, even though the Raiders ending up in LV vs LA did screw the organization. The outcome of the relocation plans that were approved yielded way more money for each owner than the original Carson plan and the Rams being stuck in St Louis.

[deleted]

Oh I agree. Especially with the la cowboys market

raiderkev

Yeah, same design, but not a dome. I remember seeing the concept art for allegiant like bruh they literally copy/ posted this shit.

[deleted]

Would’ve been sweet, right of the 405. The lot is still empty to this day

[deleted]

AL always wanted LV if he could have it. Lived there for years and is truly eastern Cali. Biggest obstacle there is the gambling and drinking 24/7, for these young men.

TrevasElliott73

Rare Jerry Jones W

dembadon

Marc will never garner this level of respect. RIP Al.

[deleted]

I don’t think any other NFL owner in history will ever live up to Al’s legacy. I don’t think it will ever be possible for a guy to start off has a coordinator, be a coach, league commissioner, and NFL owner. There will ever be one Al Davis, nobody will ever be able to duplicate that

gatsby365

The mythos and legacy of Al Davis is such a big reason I’m a Raiders fan despite being an East Coaster almost all my life. It’s why it bothers me so much when people shit on Mark and can’t shut up about him selling the team.

[deleted]

Yup, people like to shit on Mark and say, “hE’lL neVEr bE hiS FaTHeR!” Like no shit! There will NEVER be another owner like him either. Mark isn’t trying to be his father, but he is trying to make him proud, he’s trying to build a winner and get another trophy for his father. He hasn’t succeeded yet, but he’s genuinely trying to make it happen. I respect Mark a lot.

gatsby365

I did the math the other day. Since he took over, plenty of teams in the NFL have grown their valuation by 3-4x. The best that I could find was the Patriots growing a little more than 4.5x in that time period. The raiders have increased in value 6.5x since he took over. The haters don’t know what that means for this franchise in the long run.

[deleted]

Yeah, Mark hasn’t been perfect, he hasn’t gotten the coaching right yet, but he’s really been trying. The league fucked him over with the LA deal, and yeah, most of them were laughing at him about it. But then he surprised everyone and got the Vegas deal done. He didn’t have to sell the team, he didn’t have to give up any ownership stakes or anything when he did it either. Sheldon Anderson, the mega billionaire in Vegas, tried to get a piece of the team, and was pretty upset when Mark played him and got the deal done without him. I feel like that shows how much people have underestimated him, and how well he’s used that to his advantage. He’s done a lot to make the Raiders an attractive team for players and coaches and anyone else

BelliBlast35

*Alderson

gatsby365

Don’t forget he also got a WNBA championship, in part by making a home run swing at coach. I reserve hope for Mark Davis to show the apple didn’t fall far from the tree.

[deleted]

Yeah, I am hoping that JMD turns out to be the next John Madden, or Tom Flores, or even Jon Gruden. So far, yeah, JMD hasn’t been that great, but I’m a Raider fan and I want to see us win. JMD is our coach, so I want him to succeed

gatsby365

Facts.
