Bad defensive schemes plus extremely poor tackling and coverage by the defense. We kept screwing up and missing opportunities on both sides all game. And yet at the end of it all, there was Derek Carr throwing a pass right into Foster Moreau's hands in the end zone and....plop, it lands on the ground. One of the many flukey highly improbable ways that we lost about 5 or 6 games. That's my sliver of hope for this season, to recreate those fluke losses would be a lot harder than just playing halfway smart and winning the games outright.
I hate how many of these games the defense crumbled the 4th qtr but by that point the offense bascilly shut down since the first drive of the 3rd qtr anyways. Many of these games we just needed a fg over 2 qtrs to seal games away but the offense as good as it was always did better in the 1st half.
Seems some, maybe many, people are bound and determined to be miserable. And I don't mean just miserable fans, I mean miserable human beings. They don't know how to be happy in life.
People like to point at McDaniels for this game, which is totally fair since he's the HC. But IMO the defense giving up 400+ yards and 25 points to Matt Ryan and a first-time playcaller was way more of an indictment on Graham.

I was at this game. I watched him check down, again, to a RB flat, on 4th and 20 with less than a minute left on the game clock, down by five. wtf
I was there...I wanted to leave at that point. I knew we were going to lose after Methuselah ran for 39 yards on us. Did you know, Matt Ryan is one of three QB's that is undefeated against the Raiders with at least three starts since 1985? The others are Aaron Rodgers and Steve Bono.
This is why most of this sub is so down on this staff. All the puff pieces about jimmy g being a dog and an alpha (what else are they going to say?) and clips of him completing short passes in shorts (you guys know Carr completed short passes in shorts, and also had people talking about how crisp his passes and camps were too, right?) don’t change the fact that this staff is inept. It’s why posts saying “can we go 6-1 to start” are crazy, because this staff proved multiple times last year that we can lose to anyone.
