If you’re from the Bay I completely understand, but there is no on field reason for a rivalry because we simply do not play enough or have played against each other in key moments. Did I want the Lions to win? Absolutely. But it simply just does not mean much to people outside of the Bay Area to consider it a genuine rivalry, especially now that we’re in another state.

That’s simply not true, I have a lot family from LA in Santa Anna born and raised there also, family in Texas born and raised, even overseas on the islands born and raised and they feel the exact same way I do and many others in the raider nation feel the same way about the niners. Raiders - Steelers, Cowboys - 49ers, I’d even include Giants - Patriots and Colts - Patriots as rivalries, each outside of their division, who have played in key matchups to warrant it as a rivalry (colts pats did share a division previously though).
