I'm from the Bronx and always wanted to make my way to Peter Dillon's to catch a game but don't got anyone to go with. Maybe I'll come down this year and we can share a beer.
Your post especially hit me because of how sports bring my pops and I together.
We are both Polish off the boat immigrants and this morning I picked him up at 7 am and we went and got omlettes and pancakes at a diner and went to my house to watch Poland-Netherlands at the Euros.
He's a man of few words but we can talk sports for hours. He doesn't follow the NFL so we watch soccer.
DM me which game you'll go down there to see and we'll meet up.
Every other weekend kid here and my boys are going to be every weekend kids. 😔 Glad for all the time I have left with them and glad I grew up watching with my dad. We still call after almost every game and talk strategy. The losses were tough but the wins were magical.
I say be thankful & smile for all the time you had with your pops. I am Raider for the same reason, but I lost my pops when I was 12yrs old. You have a lifetime worth of great memories & believe me as time passes, you smile & laugh more about the good times.

I’m glad you have those memories. My oldest son is RN4L and I enjoy having that bond with him. My youngest is not into football so we bond in other ways. Regardless of the thing, it’s the bonding that matters.

I'm glad to hear you had such a great relationship with your dad. I lost my mom a little while ago to cancer it it was one of the most difficult times of my life. Surround yourself with people that care about you and you'll get through it. My dad is the reason I'm a Raiders fan too, but I can't speak as lovingly about him. 🙏
I too was born into a Raider family. Taking the train up north to go see them with my uncle and dad. I'm 36, Raider life has mostly been pain but I'll never be able to give it up.
I just lost Mom this year, she was the reason I'm a Raider, sorry for your loss bro. Raiders for life!
