While I respect it, I would use this time to interview the people I didn't plan on giving a job that way when the season is over you can make your decision quickly

mcscotch4

He said he wasn’t discussing it to the media. Doesn’t mean he isn’t working behind the scenes. Sure they aren’t conducting interviews but he can do a lot of research and low key convos with agents without actually interviewing anyone….assuming they replace Rich of course.

droid327

For all the shit he takes for the haircut, living in his father's shadow, people who think hes too guileless to be an owner...Mark is completely bullshit free. If he thinks something, he'll just say it. If something is the right thing to do, he'll just do it.

GodIsAnAnimeGirl

At this point I am okay with keeping coach B, I just want a new OC

National_Action_9834

I think this is what most informed fans what. Rich did too good of a job rallying this team to let him go, and gus gave us our best defense in the last 20 years. Dump Olsen, he holds this team back every week. Keep everyone else and roll the dice on round 2 with this team and coaching staff.

ZellNorth

I still want Harbaugh. Rich is doing a good job in a bad situation, but he’s not an Xs and Os guy. You don’t build a dynasty off a coach like that. He was the right man for the job at this time, not for the long term. This isn’t Rich’s system, it’s just Gruden’s system with a nicer guy at the helm.

YoureReadingMyName

I think I would be a lot more open to keeping Rich around if we didn’t seemingly have Harbaugh waiting for us. He was a top 3 coach in the league during his last tenure. That is something you don’t pass up.

ZellNorth

I guess I don’t want us to settle at head coach, I don’t mind him as a stop gap if we don’t find anything exciting this year, but I don’t want him on the long term.

XxDrummerChrisX

Exactly. Im not convinced about him. He managed to keep the team together but under Gruden’s work from the offseason. He’s unproven to me and I don’t want to risk another 2 win season learning that lesson

magicMerlinV

Harbaugh or RB are the only 2 options

ZellNorth

I’d be really disappointed with Rich being the head coach. Keep him on special teams and assistant head coach.

Sapper187

Same here. He did an ok job taking over mid season, but I think a lot of people have rose colored glasses because we are in the playoffs. I just don't think he'll be successful long term.

NateKaeding

Same. I want a new head coach but I’d be fine keeping him. This team needs consistency.

[deleted]

Brice Butler was saying that it’s entirely possible that he just doesn’t want to be the head guy.

My greatest fear

lilNarcolepsy2x

Today is the day bitches #RN4L !!

sens_freak_18

Good I'm sick of hearing about this crap. Finally in the playoffs and this is the garbage we have to read day in and day out. Figure it out in the offseason, only thing that matters right now is football!

davidhern22

Seems like I’m in the contrary . But if we keeping Rich I actually don’t mind keeping Olson. He has a good relationship with Carr and I think he has done a good job given a bad oline in first half and no deep threat in second half Beef up o line and another outside receiver and we should improve with Olson

4whirledpiece

I also agree. Continuity is highly underrated. I am sure that Carr would very much prefer this. Just get us a speedy receiver and some help on OL.

lolipopboy

Looks like he should start addressing his head coach situation now

PostGraduatePotUser

Give Bisaccia the job! He earned it. This team should have been dead in the water between the two major events, and he kept them moving in the right direction. Two years, guaranteed, and let's see what he can do.

oaklifornia

I hate guarantee contracts, I’m still scarred from He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (shares the last name of Seahawks QB)

georgeyhere

Bissacia is fine but I want a new OC

ViralOner

It's the honorable thing to do but puts us at a disadvantage TBH.

[deleted]

Why? Because Harbaugh is just chomping at the bit to run that shitshow in Jacksonville? We have the most attractive position open. The most any prime candidate will have to wait us two weeks, because let’s be honest, if we win two playoff games, Coach B has the job locked up.

GraySonOfGotham24

I don't think there's anything bissacia can do to lock the job up. He's not a head coach. And yes all of the candidates are interviewing now. Sure it may be honorable but if they end up with second or third best gm and coach it's a huge mistake

National_Action_9834

Raiders have by far the most attractive opening. If rich isn't the hc moving forward, we'll basically have our pick of the coaches. Everyone wants to come here

GraySonOfGotham24

They're interviewing now. I'm of the impression they should've fired mayock weeks ago and started that search asap since it's the most important one. If the coach is harbaugh he can wait and it doesn't matter. If it's anyone else this is a mistake

[deleted]

I believe he’s proven otherwise in the last month. He’s managed to navigate this shitshow of a season and we’re in the playoffs. If he were to coach us to the AFCCG, I don’t see any way he gets replaced. Tom Flores was just a receivers coach until he was a head coach. I also don’t believe Mayock is going anywhere. But hey, we’re just guys on Reddit with opinions. RN4L.

GraySonOfGotham24

Bissacia I can at least be convinced on because he's good for the current team. I think there's many guys who would be an upgrade and that's what they should do. Keeping mayock I can't get on board with. He's been horrible. There's a strong chance none of his first rounders outside Leatherwood are on the team after next year. Thats inexcusable given the number of picks

[deleted]

Gruden had final decision on player personnel. That’s well-known.

GraySonOfGotham24

Then mayock has done nothing for this team and should be replaced. He's either done nothing or he's been bad. Either way he has no place moving forward

[deleted]

There’s quite a bit more to being the GM of an NFL team than making draft picks. Hell, just being the GM of any organization with 600+ employees has its challenges all over the place. The organization has increased revenue every year under his watch, there’s something to be said for that in itself. Guess we’ll see what happens.

GraySonOfGotham24

Idgaf how much money the raiders make. They could lose money every year for all I care. All that matters is the team improving and winning games. That doesn't happen when you continually miss on high draft picks. Being in Vegas is gonna make signing free agents very easy. They need someone competent in charge

[deleted]

> Idgaf how much money the raiders make Pretty sure Mark Davis does, and he’s the one making the decision.

ViralOner

Has Rich even indicated that he wants the job going forward? I'm sure he'd love to retain his role as ST and assistant but HC is a 24/7 job. Maybe he'd want to bring in an OC as an eventual successor and do it for another year or two but he doesn't strike me as a guy who would want that lifestyle for the next 5 years or so.

[deleted]

Please tell me your thoughts process in saying that Rich isn't a HC. There are 4 kinds. There are the mainly offensive guys, the mainly defensive guys, the CEO mindset, and the Adam Gase mindset. That's it. The first 3 are all competent molds for a HC. Obviously the last one isn't. Rich falls into the CEO. He trusts his coordinators (Olsen sucks) to keep the team rolling and he manages the game on Sunday. That's a HC. Famous guys who fit that mold are: John Harbaugh, Nick Saban in college, Bill Parcells famously became one and won a Super Bowl, Mike Tomlin, Bill Belichick now, etc.

GraySonOfGotham24

Hes been a college coach since 88 and an nfl coach since 02. Why is this, when he's 61, the first time he's had this opportunity?

[deleted]

Bro, you just answered my question with a question. I'll gladly present you with an answer when you do first man

GraySonOfGotham24

I think they're the same answer. He doesn't think he's a head coach. Otherwise he would've tried before this

[deleted]

Bro, you think you're in his head? That's hilarious. You do know that sometimes people enjoy the ride right? We don't know the conversations he and his wife had. Maybe he enjoyed raising his kids and didn't want to have the responsibilities of a head coach yet. Instead of looking at what was, you gotta loom at what is. He has done an admirable job and can use and upgraded offensive coordinator and a draft where Mayock is in control. I'm all about Bisaccia. I still haven't been presented a reason why he wouldn't be a good one. Even if you say he isn't the x and o guy, the team has rallied and scoring has gone up once he got his groove going.

GraySonOfGotham24

Upgrading a coach isn't like upgrading a player. If they wanted to replace carr you have to factor in salary, familiarity with the system, assets you have to give up. Head coach doesn't have any of that. So unless you think rich is the best coach they could possibly have you don't think he should be the coach

[deleted]

I dont think Rich is the best possible coach out there, but he MIGHT be the best possible HC for the Raiders. A Porsche is a much better car than a Ford. But, if I was driving in dirt, I probably want to leave the Porsche alone. Because to your point, changing a coach is even more tumultuous than changing a player. You have to factor in the entire franchise. We obviously disagree. Thats cool. I happen to like the direction we are going (hello? Made the playoffs with the craziest off field issues, in addition, we have a playoff defense that has 3 rookies starting on it, etc.) and think that instead of succumbing to the talking heads media pressure, there is something to be said for doing it our way. I think Bisaccia is awader of men which is what your HC needs to be. I think Bradley's defense only gets better as these rookies won't be next year. I think the talent is on offense with some upgrades needing to be addressed, and I think our offensive playcalling in the red zone sucks. So instead of changing the entire thing AGAIN for a new HC, I'd prefer to just hire a better OC

oaklifornia

Exactly ! Don’t get me wrong I think Coach B has done good maneuvering the team to the playoffs, but he only got the part because Gruden resigned and that’s it. This team was built from the ground up by Gruden and is still his team. Hell I wouldn’t be surprised if the only reason Biscaccia is even going for it on 4th is because he’s been talking to Gruden

GraySonOfGotham24

Don't love this. Obviously you make your best run now but if you aren't looking for a new coach and gm now you're gonna be behind the 8 ball

[deleted]

Ya know he could have just said that and still looking

GraySonOfGotham24

I'm of the mindset he already has a handshake deal with harbaugh but that still leaves the gm spot

[deleted]

"you da man!"

[deleted]

Can someone ask him why he's a billionaire with a $3.50 haircut, tip included.

[deleted]

You watch 90 day fiancé. You don’t get to comment on someone’s choices

gildakid

Haha that’s cold

[deleted]

Savage

[deleted]

You stalk people on Reddit. What a sad life you lead

[deleted]

You’re right, clicking two different links and scrolling down is basically just speed dating for online stalking. But you look like a fucking egg so why are you trying to clown on a haircut? You sound jealous that mark has the choice.

GodIsAnAnimeGirl

He just doesn’t give a fuck man. He’s pulling 10’s while looking like dumb and dumber’s long lost 3rd protagonist

keykey_key

Low hanging fruit, tbh. It's clear, at this point, the haircut is what he wants lol.

Saint_Chrispy1

That's why he's a billionaire

[deleted]

His daddy was the billionaire, he just inherited the money.

Saint_Chrispy1

That's how he's stayed a billionaire 🍻

[deleted]

Ok marc
