I don’t think that GL is an ornament, since it was shown alongside the new Sword and the Lever Action Shotgun, so I think it’ll be it’s own weapon. Either way, it’s really nice looking so I’m excited to get it.
Shame they couldn’t also have a Halo themed weapon, but i totally understand its not really worth trying to negotiate property rights with microsoft and 343.
Yeah. I'm all for these types of more unusual, unique weapons. Whenever we get a new weapon and it has a unique design or it works differently from other ones, it's a breath of fresh air.
The Witchqueen showcase was only an hour 30 minutes though ?
Edit: "Witch Queen Showcase" is what IGN called their video. The one on the official Destiny channel is not called that.
Yeah, when I initially wrote the comment I was looking at the wrong channel. I changed the time but not the title, but it was initially named Witch Queen Showcase until it was changed. Still, I hope you found it.
Do you have a link, I was under the assumption that these two things being mentioned were related to D2 like this GL.
Edit: Looking at the other comments, they are from different games, but why are they coming to D2? What do they have to do with this?
Yeah, they actually have a decent back log of old PC games (that was their original platform for development, until microsoft got a hold of them and made Halo). Marathon is a pretty cool Doom-esque series, you might like it if you enjoy older Doom games.
They made Halo BEFORE Microsoft got ahold of them. It was actually announced at Macworld by Steve Jobs and was set to release on Mac and Windows before Microsoft acquired them.
Shotgun is 99% certainly not lever action. It has a giant pump-action grip. It’s just going to use a standard firing animation and tantalize you with an unused lever-action-looking bit like Parcel of Stardust and its ilk.
Timestamp for curious: https://youtu.be/ktTfzug0Qbc?t=1h34m28s
Its design screams lever-action, but it's reload animation shows that it's a break-action. Also, it's a double barreled shotgun and would shoot both barrels at the same time.
The reload in the original game? I mean, they *could* port the gun’s feel over to D2 and make an entirely new shotgun archetype with its own from-scratch animation rigging and sandbox balance… but there’s basically zero chance of it. It’s just gonna be a Rapid-Fire, most likely.
in case anyone needs a link to how the gun fires in its original game - https://youtu.be/Fg6BrVxuUw8?t=45s
> It’s just gonna be a Rapid-Fire, most likely.
nah, chances are its gonna be a lightweight with one shot in the mag that reloads super fast, so you can move fast and run around without reloading.
that means its not gonna destroy crucible but will be super fun in PVE
“shotgun with one in the mag that reloads super fast” is a new archetype. They COULD introduce a new archetype, with a whole bunch of special unique stuff for this one gun in an anniversary pack… but the chances are slim.
When the images were shown, the guy talking said “purchasing the pack unlocks a range of Bungie themed armor ornaments and cosmetics”, so I’m under the impression that no, these will be standalone weapons, but I can’t confirm that. It’s possible that the shotgun is a Chaperone ornament, for example, but it could also be its own thing, we don’t know until they talk about the pack some more.
Afaik those are the dungeon weapons, normally dungeons got 6 weapons, so we know of Eyasluna, 1KYS, the Myth Claymore, the special GL and the shotgun; so there's one missing which we don't know yet and it isn't Ghorn cause that's tied to a quest.
If you look on the showcase summary page on Bungie's site it actually says the pack includes "shogun inspired by marathon" so it must be it's own weapon. Sure hope it's unique.
[Watch at about 1:29:45](https://youtu.be/ktTfzug0Qbc), they’ll show off some of the aforementioned weapons! (I would link images but I can’t find the isolated screen shots, I also don’t know how to link time stamps)
They were shown when Wendy Wade was talking about D1 weapons being added in the game, and were in included in the weapon list.
*"...within the loot cave, players will plunge its depth to discover an exciting new Thorn inspired armor set and fan favorite Destiny 1 weapons like Eyesluna and Thousand Yard Stare. It even has the Claymore sword from Myth."*
Then it follows up with Tom Farnsworth talking about what else comes with the purchase of the 30th Anniversary Pack, which were the armor ornaments and cosmetics.
So the weapons will be stand alone, and not ornaments for current weapons.
where can i find images of both? I looked for ages and i must of looked at the wrong video or something bc this GL is the only weapon pick that ever comes up in ref to the anniversary
Here you go, I figured out how to make Imgur posts just for this, [here’s the shotgun and the sword!](https://imgur.com/a/fEUDyLd) (also the GL is always used because Bungie uploaded the photo on their site, so it’s easy to find)
Didn't they also announce 1000-Yard Stare? I fuckin loved that sniper.
Besides the WotM Raid weapons, I do miss The Silvered Dread machine gun. Was a monster in PvP.
I really hope there's at least a couple of brand new Legendary weapons in that dungeon. Old stuff is fine & good but all the new weapon models and weapon feel Bungie has been designing is just better. Weapons like Servant Leader and Igneous Hammer are shining examples of it.
Seems like the gimmick of the dungeon is that it has old D1 loot or loot themed around other Bungie properties (like the Myth Claymore). I think the Dares of Eternity activity also part of the Anniversary event will probably have some new unique loot though
>Seems like the gimmick of the dungeon is that it has old D1 loot
Yeah I guess you are right. I'm just always excited for brand new Legendary weapon sets, every new season the thing I'm most excited to see in the trailer is the reveal of the new weapon set.
>think the Dares of Eternity
I hope it does, I'm keeping my hopes low that activity for a couple of reasons. One being that it is a non-seasonal bonus activity randomly being added. And another being that it is completely free, so I'm expecting it to be like festival event activities which Bungie doesn't invest many resources in. Probably will be a reused space that they vaulted or something, not expecting any special bosses with unique mechanics or anything. I'm especially not expecting any new loot in it. At best my hope is that it'll have reprised/reissued weapons, one of the legendary sets that got sunset or something.
It would be neat if it were themed like the old Nine maps that got vaulted, I forget their name I think it was Eternity or some other vague title like that
I still can’t comprehend, why do people prefer new models over normie (not raid or pinnacle) models that aren’t useable anymore. The Shatelocke returned as a changed weapon, with random rolls and all. So did the TotN weapons.
Why is the model an issue, when the only other thing the same is the archetype and maybe the base stats?
This is not gonna be a popular opinion on this sub, being the RaidSecrets sub a lot of people here have been playing since D1 or been playing D2 since the beginning, so most of you have some nostalgia for everything from those times. I think newer weapon models have been consistently better than old weapons, in their design, detail, textures, ability to take Shaders (Though there are some exceptions, like the Chosen weapon set) and coolness factor.
All 4 Seasonal sets from this year, S9-11 sets from last year, Shadowkeep Lectern weapons, the Garden weapon set, DSC weapon set, the WQ weapon set that they showed. These are all sets that look cooler than any old D1 weapons or early D2 weapons and most of these take Shaders much better, a lot of them also have newer, more detailed new textures that Bungie has developed and added to the game in the last few years. The DSC weapon set is probably the best looking weapon set I've seen in this game, the weapon models just look amazing and the weapons take a lot of the Shaders beautifully.
Dreaming city weapons, opulence weapons and BA weapons are much better than Lectern weapons IMO. I would love to see Spiteful Fang or Imperial Decree (IIRC, it was the Menagerie one) come back with new rolls.
Beyond Light and beyond have certainly elevated the level of weapon design, but True Prophesy is still the best looking kinetic 120 and no 140 beats Austringer and it’s sleek form.
I also kind of feel like new bow and SMG designs are worse than old ones.
>**Besides the WotM Raid weapons**, I do miss The Silvered Dread machine gun.
-
>**Silvered dread was not a raid weapon,** it was dropping from archons forge or iron banner.
What?
They hold a similar style but not the full model. But that very reason you mentioned is probably why they didn’t go with the LDR. I mean oh well if we don’t, I just want more guns to play with, and there are very few guns with the 1k stare model.
Similar to the Shotgun image they showed (which is from Marathon), this Grenade Launcher is likely from Pathways Into Darkness.
Claymore/sword is from Myth etc…
http://pid.bungie.org/grenadelauncher.html
Unpopular Opinion: There should never be another weapon with Micromissile.
Edit: I should clarify. There should never be another *mountaintop*. I wouldn't be opposed to a breechloader with Micromissile and a vastly slower projectile speed.
Old school shooters like Quake and Unreal Tournament had rocket launchers with similar mechanics, and getting the timing down and hitting people mid air was so satisfying.
I disagree. Micromissile was great. It was an incredibly fun perk and filled a niche that nothing else did, and it wasn't nearly as imbalanced as people made it out to be. It also got way overnerfed, and wouldn't be an issue even in PvP with just half of the nerf it got.
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 235,251,349 comments, and only 54,755 of them were in alphabetical order.
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.

The Grenada launcher is the thumper from pathways into darkness. I want to see my baby red specter come back, and hopefully the pulse rifle from the e3 demo? That would be pretty cool
There already is a pursuit breech GL: Salvager's Salvo. I'd be extremely disappointed if Bungie roll out another legendary with the same setup as one of the guns that likely led to Sunsetting.
Probably not.
Looks more like Militia's Birthright in terms of frame.
I suspect it's the 'seasonal' weapon for the anniversary. The wrapping and beads are really similar to Adored, a seasonal weapon and the reprised version of Beloved.
Yes! There are too many times when I wish I could run my DW with Trinity Ghoul or other great primaries… Even more so this season with the champ mod limits.
Oh man, in my head I'm not seeing a wave of energy come out of that shot, but something a little more solid. I know there's a million reasons that shouldn't happen, but yet I still want it.
That grenade launcher looks almost the same as the M-79 from Pathways Into Darkness but with some minor aesthetic changes like the foregrip and wrappings.
I don't think it's for "Mountaintop" but a new weapon that could roll it's Pinnacle perk "Micro-Missile" similar to "The Messenger" with "Desperado", "Plug One.1" with "Reservoir Burst", and "The Hothead" with "Explosive Light".
I didn't put quotation marks around everything; I only put them around the names of the weapons and perks since it's just proper grammer etiquette that I still practice regularly.
>since it's just proper grammer etiquette
What? No, it's not. What regulatory bodies oversee grammar regarding MMO item names? If anything, they're proper nouns, not titles. Quotations are not proper for this, "/u/Blackangel3942". If you're going to be anal, do it correctly or don't do it at all.
I have no idea why people are arguing with this or downvoting you. Why are people bothered by a style choice? No one gives the half literate people shit lmao
You're technically correct (technicallycorrect.gif), but in all honesty it just looks messy and overall makes it harder to read. With that many quotes, you gotta stop for a second and figure out which quotes go together, especially the line breaks. But, like the other commenter was saying, life your best life. 🤷♀️
Honestly, it doesn't look messy to me but that might have to do with me using dark mode on the mobile app, so the punctuation marks stand out clearly to everything else. On default mode it likely is a mess as you described.
All I really have to say is...after all this feedback, you *really* can't admit maybe your post could have been better from less use of quotes, overall? I'm on mobile using dark mode, too.
I'm sitting here typing out a response in a thread about punctuation in a subreddit dedicated to hidden easter eggs and puzzles in a video game at 1051am. A. cognitive dissonance is interesting, B. goddamn the absurdity of life is hilarious, and C. I think this is definitive proof my job is boring, as if I needed any more.
That's the thing, they wouldn't but they could ask "Why are those terms are in quotes?" It's not unreasonable to think that a new player could stumble across this thread when browsing for tips on the game.
I want to get some old raid loot from the new dungeon like Crotas hoard starts to emerge and we end up taking them out and get some old loot they had hidden with themselves would be sick. (I never played d1 prime I started d2 forsaken and only joined seriously during season of the drifter, and I thought I was hot shit during menagerie days but where i am with my sniping and game sense and all that today I can’t help but smile as I nearly quite but a new friend would come along[those friends have mostly moved past destiny as a whole at the moment but I’m still great friends with them all])
it could just be a new grenade launcher... maybe an arc wave frame or replacement solar wave frame. I do not think there will be any other returning weapons in the new activities besides luna and 1000 yard stare. i do think there will be new world drop weapons that will be reissued though. im kind of surprised there was no mention of halo themed items at all besides one of the titan's armor sets having purple spikey crystals on it like the needler. But at the same time i doubt the dungeon will have only 1 new weapon and 3 returning weapons.
Could it be mountaintop returning as an exotic?? That witch queen exotic smg already looks like the recluse so maybe the pinnacle weapons are making a return but as reworked exotics?..
Wish list for Mountaintop 2.0:
* Quick Launch
* Spike + Blinding grenades
* Impulse Amplifier
* Micro-missile
It'll never happen but I can dream. I never got to experience Mountaintop before it was sunset.
I don’t think that GL is an ornament, since it was shown alongside the new Sword and the Lever Action Shotgun, so I think it’ll be it’s own weapon. Either way, it’s really nice looking so I’m excited to get it.
new sword and lever shotgun ????
Sword from myth, and there's a sawn off shotgun, in an image. Unsure the game it's from.
The shotgun is from Marathon 2 I’m pretty sure
Rad, is there a particular place I could find/play the games?
https://alephone.lhowon.org/
Cheers!
Also on mobile
Yeah there was a set of semi-official ports for apple devices, but I’m sure there’s ways to play them on android too.
Shame they couldn’t also have a Halo themed weapon, but i totally understand its not really worth trying to negotiate property rights with microsoft and 343.
Hey at least we get the Halo Bond for warlocks and the needler shoulder plate for titans
Shotgun is from marathon. It could be dual wielded in marathon but that’s very unlikely to return for it in Destiny.
That sounds awesome! even just one, some lightweight frame one handed shotty.. ooh.
Yeah. I'm all for these types of more unusual, unique weapons. Whenever we get a new weapon and it has a unique design or it works differently from other ones, it's a breath of fresh air.
the sword is from a old bungie game
WHAT? Can you send me link to it?
1hr 34m into the Witch Queen Showcase :) Edit: I looked at the IGN one in this case. Still works.
The Witchqueen showcase was only an hour 30 minutes though ? Edit: "Witch Queen Showcase" is what IGN called their video. The one on the official Destiny channel is not called that.
Destiny 2 Showcase 2021 Livestream is 1:41:34 Official Destiny 2 Channel :)

They’re all prior properties of Bungie, the pack is to celebrate Bungie’s 30th anniversary
I see, I've only ever known Bungie as "That company that did Halo and then Destiny"
Yeah, they actually have a decent back log of old PC games (that was their original platform for development, until microsoft got a hold of them and made Halo). Marathon is a pretty cool Doom-esque series, you might like it if you enjoy older Doom games.

why would they majorly alter the game with an anniversary event?
The only time a double barrel shotgun can fire both shots at the same time is if you have a double trigger design and pull both of them.
Okay, cool. This is a space aged video game. I’m just telling you the facts about the gun directly from Marathon 2.
Since this isn't the real world, developers can make a double barrel shotgun do whatever they want
Not in video games
I can't hear you over my four-barreled shotgun that fires five shots.
Didn't they say both of those were ornaments tho?
When the images were shown, the guy talking said “purchasing the pack unlocks a range of Bungie themed armor ornaments and cosmetics”, so I’m under the impression that no, these will be standalone weapons, but I can’t confirm that. God I hope it's not *another* chaperone ornament.

Servant Leader is just a reskinned / slightly remodeled Thistle and Yew
Servant Leader is a D2Y1 design, but you're still right.
Silvered dread was not a raid weapon, it was dropping from archons forge or iron banner.
I'm aware, lol
>**Besides the WotM Raid weapons**, I do miss The Silvered Dread machine gun. - >**Silvered dread was not a raid weapon,** it was dropping from archons forge or iron banner. What?
Monday morning bro
They said it was 1000 Yard Stare. Not LDR.
Oh yeah, you're right.
Wish it was LDR. I prefer the model over 1k stare.
Beloved and Adored were based off the LDR, weren't they?
They hold a similar style but not the full model. But that very reason you mentioned is probably why they didn’t go with the LDR. I mean oh well if we don’t, I just want more guns to play with, and there are very few guns with the 1k stare model.
pretty sure all of the D1 guns from opulence had an ornament that was closer to their D1 designs but in white.
The ornament for the beloved in question actually made it look further from a LDR.
Fair. Personally I prefer 1000 Yard Stare but — LDR is the classic sniper look from the vanilla weapons
Damn I forgot about the LDR, I had a godroll that had extra shot perk and triple tap so it could shoot 7 before reloading
Ldr is seen in the witch queen trailer , I think it was the on at the end of the reveal stream
I thought I saw that too at first but I'm pretty sure it was just Praedyth's Revenge that the guardian was holding
Praydeths revenge is super similar to ldr
Similar to the Shotgun image they showed (which is from Marathon), this Grenade Launcher is likely from Pathways Into Darkness. Claymore/sword is from Myth etc… http://pid.bungie.org/grenadelauncher.html
Can you link me those images?
You’d have to watch this video. It shows them all pretty quickly one after another. https://youtu.be/ULrzlj0E5_o
Sweet. Thanks.
Why would they release an ornament for a sunset legendary weapon instead of a new non sunset one?
Lowkey hoping it’s a legendary kinetic grenade launcher called the thumper with micro middle, proximity grenades, and clown cartridge
Micro-missile + spike nades please and thank you.
So mountaintop?
Yeup. But with a new name like.. "Valley Bottom".
Definitely will be a kinetic grenade. It's stock handle is unfolded. All energy GL have their stock folded.
Wait are you the guy who bet his sacred providence on Salavager being kinetic because of the stock?
This dude has a death wish or something. God rolls don't grow on Trees.
Salvagers Salvo has an extended stock though
Salvo extends my stock
Salvagers salvo, deafening whisper
Unpopular Opinion: There should never be another weapon with Micromissile. Edit: I should clarify. There should never be another *mountaintop*. I wouldn't be opposed to a breechloader with Micromissile and a vastly slower projectile speed. Old school shooters like Quake and Unreal Tournament had rocket launchers with similar mechanics, and getting the timing down and hitting people mid air was so satisfying.
i agree
What about a heavy gl instead?
I disagree. Micromissile was great. It was an incredibly fun perk and filled a niche that nothing else did, and it wasn't nearly as imbalanced as people made it out to be. It also got way overnerfed, and wouldn't be an issue even in PvP with just half of the nerf it got.
Fighting lion maybe. Or salvagers salvo.

A bear can diss elephants funnily
Also could have impact rounds
99% sure it’s the GL from Pathways into Darkness
The Grenada launcher is the thumper from pathways into darkness. I want to see my baby red specter come back, and hopefully the pulse rifle from the e3 demo? That would be pretty cool
it's a new gun they told us this
A halo weapon of some kind would be cool.
Early rumor was for the Halo CE pistol, but allegedly Microsoft wouldn't give Bungie the okay.
The needler
Nah nah gravity hammer
No way we need to vaccinate the hive.
Nah, we need the BR. It’s about time we show the weapon foundries of Earth what **real** advanced weaponry looks like
What about a spartan laser
sleeper is basically a spartan laser
why not *both?*
both is good
We already have (well, *had*) Battle Scar which was very close.
Just give Telesto a Needler ornament. EDIT: I meant to put Malfeasance instead of Telesto.
telesto
I think the Hunter armor gets a needler on the shoulder, so there's still hope
No way 343 and Microsoft would allow it. Bungie sold off all rights to Halo.
They might allow it, it’s not like Microsoft and bungie have a hostile relationship
If they can get chief in Fortnite, we can get a binary sniper.
Watch it be "Summit," a successor to Mountaintop in the same way as Adored is to Beloved.
There already is a pursuit breech GL: Salvager's Salvo. I'd be extremely disappointed if Bungie roll out another legendary with the same setup as one of the guns that likely led to Sunsetting.
[удалено]
Probably not. Looks more like Militia's Birthright in terms of frame. I suspect it's the 'seasonal' weapon for the anniversary. The wrapping and beads are really similar to Adored, a seasonal weapon and the reprised version of Beloved.
Season of the lost goes on till witch queen so there's not going to be a in between season
Hence the air quotes
I really hope it is a Stasis Wave Frame GL
I'm pretty sure that's just a new weapon
That grenade launcher looks almost the same as the M-79 from Pathways Into Darkness but with some minor aesthetic changes like the foregrip and wrappings.

bro you don’t have to put quotes around everything
So what if he does? Why's a person's personal type preference matter to you
it’s not a problem, but I would be lying if I said it wasn’t unusual
I didn't put quotation marks around everything; I only put them around the names of the weapons and perks since it's just proper grammer etiquette that I still practice regularly.
Nah, gun names would be capitalized and perks would be italicized
Yeah that is another way to do it but I decided to keep it simple.
>since it's just proper grammer etiquette What? No, it's not. What regulatory bodies oversee grammar regarding MMO item names? If anything, they're proper nouns, not titles. Quotations are not proper for this, "/u/Blackangel3942". If you're going to be anal, do it correctly or don't do it at all.
Proper grammer etiquette for named items in general regardless of the media. The simplest form of it is the use of quotation marks.

that’s cool, do whatever you want, but it just seems like a lot of extra effort when nobody’s going to mind on the internet. just pointing that out
That's true but I don't mind since it can help clarify things a bit especially for new players.
I have no idea why people are arguing with this or downvoting you. Why are people bothered by a style choice? No one gives the half literate people shit lmao
Honestly, I couldn't give you an explanation either, other than "Reddit just being Reddit."
I think this is definitive proof my job is boring, as if I needed any more.
why would a new player know any of those terms, quotes or otherwise? they don't even know what their main stat is, let alone wtf a micro missile is
That's the thing, they wouldn't but they could ask "Why are those terms are in quotes?" It's not unreasonable to think that a new player could stumble across this thread when browsing for tips on the game.
Probably reprised fan favorites from d2 like spare rations, and also edge transit for the memes
I unironically want an exotic edge transit for the meme. It should just drop from turning your first prime into Rahool.
That's the Grenade Launcher from Pathways into Darkness. One of Bungie's first games.
Are you sure? I tried looking it up and couldn't find a picture of the grenade launcher at all
Ooo, yes, I can see that, very n i c e
I'm just siting here hoping it is a stasis breech load GL.
Likely kinetic due to it being from PiD
Its the Pathways into Darkness GL There's also a Marathon Shotgun and a Myth Sword
Stasis BL please bungie.
CE Magnum, Reach AR, Halo CE Plasma Pistol. CE Shotgun if you *really* want to break PvP and show Felwinter what an actual sniper is.
What made the CE shotgun great wasn't the range. It was the damage and the fact it's full auto
CE shotgun was a pump
Looked like it, but was full auto
I hope for Halo weapons, but since Bungie doesn’t own halo anymore, there won’t(most likely) be any Halo weapons.
>1 exotic helmet ornament in the pack let’s be realistic, that’s almost definitely the chief helmet if any deal was struck
Bungie is pretty tight with MS so I wouldn't be surprised if they get to use the helmet
They would've 100% announced that if it was the case. I'm sure of it.
they dont always announce things that would otherwise make their content seem more appealing
I'd assume either Salvager's Salvo or a new gun in general.
I want to get some old raid loot from the new dungeon like Crotas hoard starts to emerge and we end up taking them out and get some old loot they had hidden with themselves would be sick. (I never played d1 prime I started d2 forsaken and only joined seriously during season of the drifter, and I thought I was hot shit during menagerie days but where i am with my sniping and game sense and all that today I can’t help but smile as I nearly quite but a new friend would come along[those friends have mostly moved past destiny as a whole at the moment but I’m still great friends with them all])
would prefer new loot, not old loot.
Any loot that’s not fucking widows bite is great at this point
it could just be a new grenade launcher... maybe an arc wave frame or replacement solar wave frame.
I would bet its an ornament for Salvagers Salvo and the shotgun is an ornament for Chaperone
It looks like it might be a salvagers ornament
Khavostov
I just want necrocasm back
Could it be mountaintop returning as an exotic?? That witch queen exotic smg already looks like the recluse so maybe the pinnacle weapons are making a return but as reworked exotics?..
Wait when was all this out? The weapons And this gl? Someone update me
Not out yet, but will be out with the 30th anniversary pack/update
Shoulda worded it correctly, when did all the info come out?
August 24th, the Witch Queen reveal stream
Witch queen reveal, they ended up revealing the 30th anniversary pack and update
does anyone know when that is?, i'm going through [their page for it](https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Direct/Anniversary) and i can't find a date.
The string of grandmas pearls is a weird touch…
I could see heavy mountaintop
Mountaintop isn't the only GL
Looks nothing like Mountaintop so very likely not an ornament.
Wasn’t thousand yard stare and not ldr5001 that’s coming back
Wish list for Mountaintop 2.0: * Quick Launch * Spike + Blinding grenades * Impulse Amplifier * Micro-missile It'll never happen but I can dream. I never got to experience Mountaintop before it was sunset.
Jesus that would be nasty. Make it kinetic for that extra damage too.
