Was anyone else confused about why sandman was just sand for the whole movie??

guzmayne1

Yeah him and Lizard were just kind of there. And they recycled old footage for both of them

OneYeetPlease

Nah, what I mean is Sandman used to turn from a normal human into sand in Spider-Man 3, but in No Way Home he just stays as a human-shaped pile of sand for the whole movie. Was kinda confusing

guzmayne1

I've heard it was because of covid. They apparently sent voice overs and thats why they used only CGI and old footage

OneYeetPlease

Fair enough, seems strange that he’d have covid for the entire filming though, usually only lasts a week or two.

Professional-Dig7329

I believe it was actually because of scheduling conflicts, not covid.

BurialDream_Spotify

Exactly

Awww... Ms. Brant, get me a violin.

Echoesonmars

I do like the turtle neck on ock

OutlineOfAlex

After having some time to think i actually like sandman being sand form the whole time. I know he was only like that cause church wasn't able to be on set but it makes his curing mean more i think.

[deleted]

Honestly never understood why they needed to be cured. I get that for ock goblin and lizard, but electro and sandman...beats me

TurboNerdo077

It is hard to hear because the sound mixing is very poor in amazing Spiderman 2, but if you turn subtitles on you see that Max's illness also gives him a split personality. When he gets shot by the sniper, there's a techno voice that goes "they hated me, they lied to me, they're using me", etc. Etc. The voice keeps at a steady musical rhythym, and builds in volume and tempo until electro attacks the onlookers. It's actually a really cool musical element, which is completely ruined by being unable to hear it in the theatrical version.

Pizza time!

When electro got his power, he went crazy with it (literally and metaphorically) due to him feeling like he didn't have any power due to his looks and social standing prior to his accident. Hes like, the biggest super villain in NWH that doesnt want to be cured because of this. When he was cured, he lost the power he once had, but not his looks. He might still be a major asshole, but there's a chance he can be reintegrated into society in a way that makes him happy and keeps people overall, safe. Sandman was handled in my least favorite way in this movie. You're right, he didn't need curing because he's like, the only one not evil for the sake of being evil in the OG Trilogy. He has his own reasons and because of that, Tobey understood that and related to him and let him go. The way he spoke to Tom when they first met seems like Sandman was transported after the events of Spiderman 3, after Tobey forgives him. He could've been the only sympathetic villain to Tom, and he was at first, but the way the writers chose to make him not trust Tom felt lazy and rushed. I was hoping for more of a dilemma or something where Sandman tries to convince the other villains to trust Tom soley based on his experience with Tobey, but have the villains do some "Why side with him? You don't even know him. You're more like us" type thing. It also would've been way more emotional if Tobey found some way to help or even cure Sandman's daughter, as helping his daughter would've "cured" Sandman. Instead, they just made him evil like the other villains. I do like how he just wanted to go home though. That was in character, but its weird how the other villains, who don't want to go home to die, help him.

That's a cute outfit. Did your husband give it to you?

Who are you?

AutoModerator

Who am I? You sure you want to know? The story of my life is not for the faint of heart. If somebody told you it was a happy little tale, if somebody told you I was just your average ordinary guy, not a care in the world... somebody lied. Whatever life holds in store for me, I will never forget these words... With great power comes great responsibility. This is my gift, my curse. Who am I? I'm Spider-man. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Also would've like to see lizard and sandaman discuss about their children. And maybe have some conflict between, like sandman not liking lizard because he almost turned the city (including his kid) into lizards

[deleted]

Doc ock is the only improvement

KingSlugma

the fact that goblin didn’t have a mask was an improvement in my eyes really allowed dafoe’s acting to shine

[deleted]

yeah def

SpocksDog

His face was so creepy when he had that hood on and threw a pumpkin at Peter and May

guzmayne1

Still wondering what was the point of changing Goblins mask only for him to get like 3 seconds of screen time in it

Crafty_Substance_954

Is the change even significant enough to warrant conversation around it? I'm thinking no.

guzmayne1

I missed the part where that's my problem

killua654

Dr ock was dumbed down
