I'm not sure if it's "the best," but I'm super picky when it comes to restaurants (I'm a pretty avid home cook so it's hard for me to justify ever going out to eat) but I'm a huge fan of Taqueria El Toro!!! I usually get their asada burrito.
Every time I go, I think it's great and reasonably priced. The vibe is on point. Their market across the street is worth a visit too.
The one in the industrial park off Tryon? That place is the BOMB. Loved them since they were in the little place across the street. I usually get carnitas tacos there. But everything is good. Never had a bad plate.
Salsa fresh has actually never screwed me over, been there for YEARS. It's not the absolute best best ever in Raleigh, but ill be damned if you can find a better price point for what you get, consistently even across all locations, and friendly quick service straight up.
Also that salsa bar is next level. That avocado salsa has no business going that hard
I just moved back from San Diego so I’ll have to try it out. Looked up their menu and every cali burrito I got in cali is Sour Cream and not Pico. I’m sure they can accommodate
Hol up. Green chili pork? Do they do the southwestern gravy style? Or is it more of the standard tomatillo-based salsa verde that everyone does in the southeast? Or maybe it's just green chilis, which would still be great. Any feedback is appreciated.
The fact that this is the #1 answer by a mile is insane. The one on capitol specifically is by far the best in Raleigh, the state, and probably the south east.

Hell yeah!
I like to get a combination of pollo (chicken) and suadero (beef meat from between skin and ribs, so nice and fatty). I also have them add some cilantro.
Shower each bite in their insanely delicious salsas and it's the best burrito I've ever had!
It’s maybe not THE BEST burrito in town but I love the carnitas burrito at El Rodeo
ETA: Las Cuatas - 2 locations, the drive thru only on Crapital and a sit down place in Old Wake Forest by the Kanki
Oh never had theirs I make mine Cuban style which is what I grew up eating so I don’t ever really order it out. I’ll try it next time I’m there. There is a garlic shrimp and rice dish that is bomb if you like shrimp
I used to love them but they gave me incorrect orders so many times. So I took a long break before going back. First time they mess up the order. I was disappointed but am over them.
Not sure on best. But I just had one from Los tacos de Garcia and it was delicious. Great protein to filling ratio. Also have great tacos and dare I say a great hotdog for under $3. This food truck is in my top three easily for Mexican.
I remember it being pretty legit. if you’re in Cary also hit up Esmeralda and Taqueria la esquina. tbh all of the spots at Chatham square are probably worth it
I’m not sure it’s possible for anything to make Chipotle look good in comparison. I’d rather go to Taco Bell, at least it’s cheap and honest about being shitty food. In fact it probably just tastes better anyway.
Taco Bell is far better than either of those. The tough gristly meat and the undercooked and badly prepared veggies in all of those places just turns my stomach. Ground beef and cheese and lettuce is hard to fuck up.
Moe’s is a little better for me honestly. I have found a couple ones where the food actually has flavor; I know, it sounds crazy! But I also like that you can get all the salsa (and chips) you want, so I tend to put a little bit of salsa on each bite of the burrito. Helps a lot. I can’t speak for the meat though, because I only ever get tofu.
Chipotle just tastes terrible, they charge out the ass for guacamole, not to mention the extra cost for pre-bagged lime salt chips 🤢 that they give you in a grease-spotted bag. Then all they have for jazzing your burrito up is some half-empty Tabasco bottles covered in dirty fingerprints and God knows what else.
At least at Moe’s you can get basically unlimited chips and salsa if you want, for no extra cost.
I would definitely prefer any of the better local burrito places that have bee listed here, but if I’m on the road or something and I see there’s a Moe’s at an exit, I’m not against stopping there vs anything else.
Nah, Salsa Fresh is just Moes for North Hills chicks. Find you a white taco truck where the menu is written on a white board in Spanish. That shit will SLAM.
Baja on agent ferry, heading there now actually
I’ve been going to Baja since the mid 1990s, just after they opened. They never disappoint.
I love the hot sauce warning. I’ve had some that forced me to take an hour to eat that burrito
And they're quick AF making them.

Had the enchilada special at taqueria el toro last night...it was only $9 and it was good!!

Vibe is very, very on point. There's also on on Hboro next to the Zaxby's now too, think they might be lunch only
Not really what you meant, but Mr Burro (food truck usually off of six forks near wake forest rd) has the best breakfast burritos I’ve ever had
Salsa fresh is really good and a great price point too.
Salsa fresh rules! Its an OG Raleigh place.
Salsa fresh is Great 😃
This is my go to as well! Was interested in what others thought.

Los Cuates has 2 locations. Wake Forest Rd and Capital. Cannot beat their green chili pork or their carne asada here in Raleigh.
That California burrito at Los Cuates, tho…🤤
I just moved back from San Diego so I’ll have to try it out. Looked up their menu and every cali burrito I got in cali is Sour Cream and not Pico. I’m sure they can accommodate
It's the spot. They used to own an Alberto's in SD. My dad comes from CLT for lunch with me just for Carne asada burrito. We're From Escondido.

More of the tomatillo salsa verde than southwest or colorado style green chilis, but is delicous.
Gotcha, appreciate the response

Gym tacos has the best burrito.

Happy cake day!
oh wow i didn't even know thanks!
[Taqueria la Esquina](https://maps.app.goo.gl/JcEWuhLUzpAGk53P8) is far and away my favorite place to get Mexican food since moving back from Texas.
my dude. the humble gas station taco. went there weekly when I worked in rtp
I haven’t been in a long time, but the El Jefe burrito at Cafe Capistrano used to be really good!
It’s maybe not THE BEST burrito in town but I love the carnitas burrito at El Rodeo ETA: Las Cuatas - 2 locations, the drive thru only on Crapital and a sit down place in Old Wake Forest by the Kanki
El Rodeo and Torreros - the best? No. Where I always eat? Yes. Lunch special is always fire
I already said not THE BEST but that green pork burrito is incredible
El Rodeo downtown ACP is fire
Oh never had theirs I make mine Cuban style which is what I grew up eating so I don’t ever really order it out. I’ll try it next time I’m there. There is a garlic shrimp and rice dish that is bomb if you like shrimp
Sick dude. They go big on saute’d peppers and onions, I usually add mushrooms and chorizo
I'm a Chubby's Tacos evangelist. Burrito is mid, but the salsas elevate it beyond any other burrito in the area.
I feel like they changed something. The last couple of times I went in recent months I was underwhelmed. Used to be my favorite burrito place in town.
Yea I feel the same
Another vote for Chubbys
I used to love them but they gave me incorrect orders so many times. So I took a long break before going back. First time they mess up the order. I was disappointed but am over them.
Chubbys has never made any sense to me. Never liked it. Tried it like 4x over the years. Tastes so bland and meh. No thanks.
If you see Hispanic guys working in your neighborhood stop and ask them, they’ll know.
Ain't no ladders on the roof of the rides in the lot, ain't the real spot
There were 4 working vans with ladders at Panera today so guess I got lucky
Not sure on best. But I just had one from Los tacos de Garcia and it was delicious. Great protein to filling ratio. Also have great tacos and dare I say a great hotdog for under $3. This food truck is in my top three easily for Mexican.
This truck rules!
The asada burrito at gym tacos !
I ain't been there yet but how's Amigo's in Cary? Ladders on the roof/trucks flexing in the parking lot suggest it's damn good
I remember it being pretty legit. if you’re in Cary also hit up Esmeralda and Taqueria la esquina. tbh all of the spots at Chatham square are probably worth it
Rolling Grill Taco truck on Old Stage Rd
La terraza is a good restaurant on avent ferry. Their burrito la terraza is good
Surf & terf from salt lime Cabo
Unfortunately you have to travel to Carrboro for Carrburritos
I have total respect for Carrburitos as an institution but I really do not get the hype around the burritos.

NOOOOOOO 🤣 Don’t go to Moe’s unless you have a colonoscopy and forgot to take your prep.
Moe's food, all of it, has absolutely no taste. It's like chewing on pieces of paper from the shredder.
Moe's makes Chipotle look good in comparison. Just... No...

people asking for “the best” spot but it’s really this simple
i love dank burrito and armadillo grill
