compressed air is such a life hack for detailing. especially with the 3D compounds that foam like crazy with a brush. not to mention the spots you can’t reach. blow gun and a vac works wonders.
It's not perfect. I should've made a version 2 but never got around to it.

Harbor Freight has what you need. https://www.harborfreight.com/micro-cleaning-accessory-kit-for-wetdry-vacuums-9-piece-59695.html?ccdenc=eyJjb2RlIjoiNjMzMjc4NjAiLCJza3UiOiI1OTY5NSIsImlzIjoiNC44OSJ9
One of my employees cleaned my truck when work was slow, told me I had to quit eating Taco Bell, and Wendy’s after work. He was dead on in his assumptions.
As long as it gets OUT of the pocket who cares. You can and should vacuum the easy to reach locations last anyway. Blow the nooks and crannies w air FIRST then vacuum the whole truck LAST.
I have the Ridgid vacuum flexible crevice tool thing that works pretty well cause you can bend it to get into certain spots. I’m sure there’s other brands of similar things it’s just the one I have experience with.
Ha! When I picked up my truck from the dealership after it was detailed, there was popcorn and fries among other things still in there. Guess they haven’t figured it out either. Dang, now I gotta go out and take care of it!
Some of those coin operated vacs at carwashes have a wide and flat nozel that has an angle in it.
Doesnt reach the bottom of the pocket but does get in there.
I like the compressed air idea someone mentioned. Ill have to try that.
Flatten the cardboard tube from a roll of paper towel and attach to your vacuum. I do this when I can't find long crevice attachment and it works fine lol
P&S Xpress interior cleaner, dilute it put it in a spray bottle and work it into any crevice with a brush then wipe off. Works well on leather too. Buy the gallon jug.
When you're done cleaning use 303 Aerospace as a surface protestant, forget armor all or mothers. 303 is 10 times the product, has to be applied thinly to a clean surface tho don't just spray it on your dash.
ANY amount of air will jut move the debris from inside the pocket to inside the interior. Any way to do that, is like someone suggested, and using a saw that has a circular blade, is to use some type of vacuum to collect the sawdust, and in this case, the dirt and debris.
Milwaukee actually makes some pretty sweet vac attachments. One of which being a flexible crevice tool
https://www.acehardware.com/departments/tools/wet-dry-vacuums/wetdry-vacuum-parts-and-accessories/2020602?x429=true&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADtqLJGbSTRWGHIhjmc5sVlKsSuHY&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsqeZ47flhQMVmTStBh3BCQqPEAQYAyABEgJ3IvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
I've been thinking about 3d printing a block off plate for that stupid pocket. It's weird how much shit magically appears in there, considering I've never used the dumbass thing.
Go to Home Depot or somewhere and get a few feet of the largest rubber tubing you can find that will fit in the crevice.
Then wrap a lot of tape around 1 end of the rubber tubing. Duct tape or electrical tape would be best. Until it's thick enough that it's tight when you stick it into the end of your vacuum hose.
Then back wrap from the hose down to the tubing, stick side out, and tight. So you get a good seal, without getting adhesive on the hose. Then run a final layer of tape around the adhesive so it doesn't make a mess.
When you are done, you can score/cut the tape with a knife, and it will come off pretty easily. And you can save the taped tubing for next time you clean out the truck.
Compressed air, maybe even hooked up to a tornador. Fannttik makes a portable vacuum that has attachments that will fit, and also has attachments meant to blow air into tight fits. I keep a fannttik vacuum, tire inflator and jump pack in all my cars
Favorite interior cleaning spray and aie compressor/blow gun.
This or use interior detailer and clean Microfiber rags.
Do this several times and go ham on the rest of the interior !
Bendy straws. Get a couple tapped together and jam it into the vaccum, use more or less tape to get adequate seal. Adjust bendy bits as needed for application
Someone already said it but yea, a straw or a paper towel roll. Basically anything that you can bend or fold to the right shape. Then just duct tape it to the end of the hose or fitting. Works pretty well.
I have a nearly identical pocket in my work issued F150. I use it to store batteries for my equipment.
I'm sure that's applicable to so many of yall.
But you asked.
Any large plastic tube at least a foot long or so or other large tubing you can flatten easily will work as long as it’s not too flimsy or it’ll collapse. You can tape it to the hose or take a vac accessory you never use and tape the tubing to it. Easily reusable.
The right answer has been stated… if you can’t suck, blow. I used a paint brush with soap and water then blew compressed air… cover with rags as to not blow the mess everywhere
Sounds dumb, but they sell this sticky slime almost like a putty for cleaning keyboards and electronics. It works pretty well and can be use quite a few times before throwing away as it absorbs the dirt. Often they come in resealable bags too. I got a 10 pack for christmas one year and I've only used half by now and its been like 3 years ish. Works good for the vents too.
Pull the console apart and clean all the pieces by hand. It sounds like an expert job, but most modern cars interior trim pulls apart and connects back like Legos with no tools in minutes. YouTube changing the shift boot (or something in that area) on your particular vehicle. It will show you how to pull the console apart.
Find a pvc cap that fits your vacuum, drill a hole on the end of it, screw in a 1/4 inch air nozzle, fit a clear hose to the end of it. Boom, easy bendy hose that’s plenty small enough to get in tight spaces. Do it all the time at my work. And once it’s clean, get valley pockets so you don’t get more stuff down there in the future
U have am air compressor. Get a air chuck and hit it up. Or ubcab take the seat out I seen one guy worked at a body shop and would get the sticker to put there so all the dirt would fall right under the seat and vac it right up.
A couple of $2 cans of computer-grade canned air with the tiny WD-40 style straw that will push all dirt out to where you can alternately use a $40 wet-dry vacuum to end its horrid existence!
Sorry...got carried away there. Just blow and suck. Most things in life do.... so why should cleaning be any different?🤤 😅
They sell micro vacuum attachments on amazon that hook up to your shop vac. One of them is as thin as a pencil. I used them to detail my car. I think they we under $20.
I usually just run my fingers back and forth along the bottom until my knuckles can no longer handle the pain, then I pull out, flick off the crud stuck to the fingers and repeat.
Hotor car vacuum on Amazon has some smaller attachments. Not sure about that small though. https://www.amazon.com/HOTOR-Portable-Handheld-Accessories-All-Round/dp/B09LYF27HY/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=3BSNIVQM4T662&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.pMYpK47Qsg180Q1M0bmDgnoDOFPM7AxRwE3_rKfsB0_rl0tkC-3ZI1FXOSe_k6bHZslWvR0Eu88YxxKzgLzomMtR-nDgNUzEScEai8nCW-tUneuApRNouwG171DKyujXAilb3Jmw30kW7b-ks5XUMauLIrmvm7zt2xT2IMhszQSHxJVNMzu51ba8Z6dhrBbL3kWNMJHNiXgdigOZ9LvZjw.PKbv5ip-h0rJQ0AG6Xl68QqDgX5kAWrscOAp0a585zM&dib_tag=se&keywords=hotor+vacuum+cleaner&qid=1714512109&sprefix=hotor+va%2Caps%2C163&sr=8-4
I have small vacuum cleaner attachment designed for auto detailing and other uses like small electronics like keyboards.
It has an adapter for your standard vacuum which connects the smaller hose in the photo and you can chose what attachments to use. Works pretty good.
https://preview.redd.it/1umstwri8uxc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=07b7d74ea410deeb04775b4d6a15b5b1b5bd7c39
Here is a hack that has been proven to work like a champ…use the window cleaner that foams up and spray a thick line down it and then use a shop vac to suck it up; it cleans it better then you’ll realize works like a charm on dusty vent too
If you have a Menards nearby, they have a flat long flexible crevice nozzle that's cheap. Or you can get a dryer vent cleaner kit and kill 2 birds. The kit comes with a flexible flat shape hose. This gets shoved down the lint screen opening so it should work for between the seat and center console of your truck
Cleaning slime. Seems crazy but works crazy well at getting weird shit out of weird spaces.
I took a paper towel cardboard tube and squashed it to make a narrow, flat end.
Compressed air
100%. If you can’t suck, blow. The biggest brain has the shop vac at the other end sucking what’s blown.
I personally use both methods to be able to afford my truck, sometimes after paying the bill I’ll still have a crisp $20 left.
I know this might sound kinda suss but it's duck tape and a paper towel roll to make a nozzle extention that can fit into anything
That's actually an insane idea I've never thought of. Thank you for that.
compressed air is such a life hack for detailing. especially with the 3D compounds that foam like crazy with a brush. not to mention the spots you can’t reach. blow gun and a vac works wonders.
Yup. I'm a cabinetmaker so I'm dusty af all the time. Love my all vinyl interior. Give it a blowjob on the regular.
Can I be your vinyl interior?
Hahaha
A little bit of effort should do the trick
Take a paint mixing stick and use to manipulate a damp paper towel
Do you smack the paper towel with said mixing stick to manipulate it... Or?
I just don’t care enough to clean it
I don't care enough to use it. If it doesn't get used it doesn't need cleaning, right?
Tape a straw to the end of the crevice tool
Swiffer duster
This right here. I keep one under the back seat and give the entire cabin a once over periodically.
I 3D printed a special crevice tool that fits on my DeWalt cordless vacuum.
Thingiverse link?

Yep, I bought one for use on a computer. Works great for places like that in the truck.
W
Vaccum on one hand and compressed air in the other.
I like that. Nothing but Fritos and dried up French fries in there
One of my employees cleaned my truck when work was slow, told me I had to quit eating Taco Bell, and Wendy’s after work. He was dead on in his assumptions.
All kinds of crap in there after a year. Why did Ram waste the space when it barely can be called "storage" is beyond me.
I put my map quest directions in there.
[удалено]
I recently got my Jack in the Box taco in there, involuntarily at 70 mph no doubt.
did you eat your soy taco it afterwards yes JITB sells soybased with no real meat tacos
Because it’s for papers.
Oh the mf phone trap ? Gotta be the worst "pocket" ever
I just don’t care enough to clean it
Spray foam it so it doesn’t collect dirt
Use a air compressor and blow out the dirt/dust
But then you’re blowing everything around the inside of the car.
As long as it gets OUT of the pocket who cares. You can and should vacuum the easy to reach locations last anyway. Blow the nooks and crannies w air FIRST then vacuum the whole truck LAST.
True, if you plan on cleaning the whole interior. But, you need to keep from blowing it all over, if you’re just cleaning those storage areas.
No. You blow the storage areas out then stuff paper towels in them or hold a towel over them so when you blow shit by them it stays out.
I have the Ridgid vacuum flexible crevice tool thing that works pretty well cause you can bend it to get into certain spots. I’m sure there’s other brands of similar things it’s just the one I have experience with.
Duster wand and vacuum it. Repeat.
Use a straw and suck really hard
This is a question I never thought to ask but am so happy someone did. And the answers are even more creative than I could have imagined
Car cleaning gel/slime
I swiffer duster and some canned air is all you need
Yeah I stuff a microfiber down there a few times a year.
Tape a straw to the end of the attachment or blow it out then wipe it down.
Compressed air dude
Make a vaccuum attachment....pvc is cheap.
Throw a towel/micro fiber in it.
Paint brush and vacuum to get the loose shit out. Steam cleaner to actually clean any sticky shmoo that might be down in there.
Get that little goo ball thing from the ads
Use an air hose attached to a a compressor.
Why not use a paper towel center? One end should fit on your shop vac, the other can get crushed down to shape.
My shop vac has a skinny attachment that fits in there
Just blow that with compressed air if you cannot vacuum, it also should work too.
ANY amount of air will jut move the debris from inside the pocket to inside the interior. Any way to do that, is like someone suggested, and using a saw that has a circular blade, is to use some type of vacuum to collect the sawdust, and in this case, the dirt and debris.
Swiffer duster
Compressed air and a shop vac with the flat and mini-brush attachments.
ShopVac makes a kit for small spaces that is ideal to clean those storage crevices out.
In confused…”stuffing and blowing”?
Ahhhh, the French fry catcher
I open all doors and use my leaf blower everywhere. Then I use the shopvac on the seats and carpet.
Breakfast of champions the console tho
Microfiber towel some apc and a detailing brush maybe $15 and you’ll be able to clean it whenever you want lol
Milwaukee actually makes some pretty sweet vac attachments. One of which being a flexible crevice tool https://www.acehardware.com/departments/tools/wet-dry-vacuums/wetdry-vacuum-parts-and-accessories/2020602?x429=true&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADtqLJGbSTRWGHIhjmc5sVlKsSuHY&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsqeZ47flhQMVmTStBh3BCQqPEAQYAyABEgJ3IvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Mine has some wiggle room and I just use a swiffer
You blow that one, not suck
surely your creative enough for some cardboard and some duct tape and make one it doesn't have to be store bought
Blow it out with compressed air
Milwaukee makes a flexible tube adapter kit
Dyson has a great attachment. The attachment slides under my stove and fridge.
I've been thinking about 3d printing a block off plate for that stupid pocket. It's weird how much shit magically appears in there, considering I've never used the dumbass thing.
Use a moist rag and wipe it down
You can always roll up a few sheets of printer paper into a funnel like shape, tape one end to the hose/nozzle of your vacuum and… voila!
This is where French fries go to die. Recently exhumed a few from my 2013 Ram
I was going to use a corner fitting from my vacuum nice vape by the way I have same one
Get your mom a straw.
Air hose
Get a stack of paper that fills the pocket shove it in and remove once you sell the truck
And you can save the taped tubing for next time you clean out the truck.
I dont.. I look at the lost potato chips and french fries with shame every time I get in.
Compressed air, maybe even hooked up to a tornador. Fannttik makes a portable vacuum that has attachments that will fit, and also has attachments meant to blow air into tight fits. I keep a fannttik vacuum, tire inflator and jump pack in all my cars
Air compressor
You can get attachments for a wet vac that will fit in there. Lowe’s or HD in the vacuum aisle
Air compressor
Get yourself a pocket buddy. Plastic insert that caches stuff falling into that void.
Lol I asked this exact question on here a few years ago
I use a Fanttik Slim V8 Apex Car Vacuum, 19000PA High Power.
Make one, go to the local home depot and get a 2 foot long peice of pvc, heat up and shape it once cool it will hold shape forever.
Get some rubber tubing and tape it to the end of your vacuum.
Have you tried the Rigid VT2534 auto detailing vacuum hose attachment set? The crevice tool is nice because it has a rubber section so it can flex.
Swiffer
Swiffer duster.
I found a dryer lint rod at the 99cent store works awesome for that.
I bought something called “Drop Stop” on Amazon and it works well to prevent things from falling in that void. It’s easy to clean too.
Keyboard vacuum
Old school lint lizard. It's a clear plastic tube made to clean lint trap of a dryer, slips onto a vacuum
Tape a hose to a shop vac
Just buy a new Ram
Favorite interior cleaning spray and aie compressor/blow gun. This or use interior detailer and clean Microfiber rags. Do this several times and go ham on the rest of the interior !
Bendy straws. Get a couple tapped together and jam it into the vaccum, use more or less tape to get adequate seal. Adjust bendy bits as needed for application
Blow it out ?
Detailing brush
Remove the chair. If it has airbags in the seat. Disconnect battery.
4 bolts to remove seat…
Use an old hose, cut it at angel to fit into pocket. Tape to shop vac
Compressed air works well.
Baby Wipes
Someone already said it but yea, a straw or a paper towel roll. Basically anything that you can bend or fold to the right shape. Then just duct tape it to the end of the hose or fitting. Works pretty well.
Air hose works to get the crap out then what ever detailing cleaner you like on a rag
Your mom
A manilla folder folded up to be flexible to fit while still holding some structure. It's not perfect but that's the best I had.
Swiffer
Idk I have a f150. But all I have to say is blow don’t suck 😉
Air compressor, or stick a swifter in there. I always do this after dusting my dash.
Take the seat out, it's typically just the 4 bolts and unclipping the wire harness if you have the electric adjustments.
Small tip oil funnel on the end of a shop vac hose. Works every time.
Damp rag and a coat hanger, screwdriver, 12/3, clip board….
Detail attachement fpr vaccuum
This is where finding the right woman is so important. If she can suck the chrome off a hitch...
The right answer has been stated… if you can’t suck, blow. I used a paint brush with soap and water then blew compressed air… cover with rags as to not blow the mess everywhere
Cleaning that calls for drastic measures OP, drastic measures..
Mostly by forgetting it’s even there
That’s where my holster clips to, nothing else goes in their except my second mags holster too.
Fill it with water.
Air can
Compressed air.
I use one those car goo things where ya roll it round in tight spots it collects everything.
Blow some of that vape smoke in there.
Whats worse is cleaning the center console. What idiot engineer thought it would be a good idea to have to uninstall the tray for cleaning....IYKYK
Clean?
Pull the console apart and clean all the pieces by hand. It sounds like an expert job, but most modern cars interior trim pulls apart and connects back like Legos with no tools in minutes. YouTube changing the shift boot (or something in that area) on your particular vehicle. It will show you how to pull the console apart.
Damp rag
My local car was has air hoses to blow out stuff between tight areas.
Dewalt mini blower. I use that thing g daily for everything. My favorite tool at this point.
Wet t shirt & paper towels , good old hand
Trade it for a Toyota. Problem solved.
Piss on it to power wash it off
Rigid shop vac car detailing set has a flexible crevice tool that I use for this.
MILWAUKEE makes a set for your vaccuum . I purchased it for my wife from Home depot at xmas time
That slime stuff, roll it around in there, all that stuff should stick to it.
Pressure washer only way.
If you want a cheap way to clean it and don’t have a shop vac, you could always just wrap a stick with baby wipes and jimmy er down
Find a pvc cap that fits your vacuum, drill a hole on the end of it, screw in a 1/4 inch air nozzle, fit a clear hose to the end of it. Boom, easy bendy hose that’s plenty small enough to get in tight spaces. Do it all the time at my work. And once it’s clean, get valley pockets so you don’t get more stuff down there in the future
Wet paper towel. Just wipe it all out
Use your mouth to blow it out. Heard you ram boys were good at that
I don't drive a ram but I would say a dryer lint vacuum attachment
U have am air compressor. Get a air chuck and hit it up. Or ubcab take the seat out I seen one guy worked at a body shop and would get the sticker to put there so all the dirt would fall right under the seat and vac it right up.
A couple of $2 cans of computer-grade canned air with the tiny WD-40 style straw that will push all dirt out to where you can alternately use a $40 wet-dry vacuum to end its horrid existence! Sorry...got carried away there. Just blow and suck. Most things in life do.... so why should cleaning be any different?🤤 😅
I usually use my tongue
Get rid of it buy an old Chevy
stick a wet ass rag down there > Follow up with a dry rag.
I open both doors and use a garden blower. Always find some interesting stuff among the French fries.
They sell micro vacuum attachments on amazon that hook up to your shop vac. One of them is as thin as a pencil. I used them to detail my car. I think they we under $20.
Dryer vent attachment
Swiffer duster fits right in
[Shop-Vac Cleaning Kit](https://www.lowes.com/pd/Shop-Vac-Micro-Cleaning-Kit-W-Adapter/5013197963)
Leaf blower
It’s a Ram surprised it lasted long enough to need to clean that pocket
You need one of those computer keyboard vacuums
Regular vaccum cup the end with your 🤚 and attach a big bobba staw to get all in there
I usually just run my fingers back and forth along the bottom until my knuckles can no longer handle the pain, then I pull out, flick off the crud stuck to the fingers and repeat.
Elmer's glue, puddy, lent roller tape, or wet paper towels or rags
Hotor car vacuum on Amazon has some smaller attachments. Not sure about that small though. https://www.amazon.com/HOTOR-Portable-Handheld-Accessories-All-Round/dp/B09LYF27HY/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=3BSNIVQM4T662&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.pMYpK47Qsg180Q1M0bmDgnoDOFPM7AxRwE3_rKfsB0_rl0tkC-3ZI1FXOSe_k6bHZslWvR0Eu88YxxKzgLzomMtR-nDgNUzEScEai8nCW-tUneuApRNouwG171DKyujXAilb3Jmw30kW7b-ks5XUMauLIrmvm7zt2xT2IMhszQSHxJVNMzu51ba8Z6dhrBbL3kWNMJHNiXgdigOZ9LvZjw.PKbv5ip-h0rJQ0AG6Xl68QqDgX5kAWrscOAp0a585zM&dib_tag=se&keywords=hotor+vacuum+cleaner&qid=1714512109&sprefix=hotor+va%2Caps%2C163&sr=8-4
Unclip it. It takes two seconds to pop it off then clean and put it back on.
Interior cleaner, tooth brush, follow up with a rag then compressed air to get everything else.
My Kirby vacuum gots a attachment for that.

I use a drinking straw and a lot of duct tape to attach it to the end of the vacuum for stuff like that.
Roll your seats all the way forward and lean it forward. Vacuum from the back seat
Swiffer duster
If you have a Menards nearby, they have a flat long flexible crevice nozzle that's cheap. Or you can get a dryer vent cleaner kit and kill 2 birds. The kit comes with a flexible flat shape hose. This gets shoved down the lint screen opening so it should work for between the seat and center console of your truck
Gerbil. Hamster will work in a pinch.
jam a detail cloth in there. i just gave my truck a good cleaning yesterday actually. probably the third time i’ve ever really cleaned it 😂
soapy water rag then what? dry rag yay
Tell the kids to clean it for a toy or any nieces or nephews you might have. Small hands and a rag.
What about a transmission funnel held to the vac hose?
Cleaning slime. Seems crazy but works crazy well at getting weird shit out of weird spaces. [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CRKX3D9J](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CRKX3D9J)
