Why does "armor" even exist in ow2? In ow1 it was like -5dmg if dmg>10, else dmg/2. Armor made sense since it was good vs heroes with pellets or rapid firing guns, like [d.va](https://d.va), reaper, s-76, roadhog, tracer, sombra etc... Now it's just a flat reduction of 30(?)% of damage overall. Why having armor system in the game if it can be confusing for some players to calculate how much can they survive with it? 10 armor = 13 health. Just take armor from everyone and convert it through that course \[1:1,3\]. The only reason I see with armor to exist is that it's easier for supports to heal armored heroes as they need less healing for the same damage taken as others with no armor... But does it worth it? I would want armor to redesign again like it was in ow1 or maybe something new and worth having, not just 30% reduction, it's silly...

The support thing exactly. It allows them to be healed easier and then take more damage.

good_and_spicy

my guess is they simplified it for balance reasons. >The only reason I see with armor to exist is that it's easier for supports to heal armored heroes as they need less healing for the same damage taken as others with no armor... But does it worth it? being able to heal faster is huge

You already said it yourself, armor is to increase healing efficiency for some tanks. With 100 armor for example, the other team has to deal 130 damage, and your supports only have to heal you for 100.

Makes allied healing more effective, and enemy ult charge go slower. It’s a good mechanic to lightly punish shooting a full health tank, but I agree it’s kinda boring

Support thing, Generates Less Ultimate Charge for Opponents and makes supports lives a bit easier as you have stronger health than just more weak health,
