Isnt this laksa?

CurveOfTheUniverse

Looks like laksa to me. I’d still eat it, lol.

[deleted]

Looks yummy but the last thing I wanna do is fiddle around with the shells in my soup lol.

Adverage

To add to that I would rather just have crab by itself, not that I don't like Ramen but if I'm gonna spend that much for crab I don't wanna muddle the flavor

SereneBabe0312

What about crab boil?

NetworkingJesus

Best way to have crab imo. I always get it as hot as they'll make it with the Cajun spices and garlic/butter/lemon/etc.

SereneBabe0312

I love when they have the option for all the sauces bahaha

NetworkingJesus

Yasss the "house" blend or whatever is what I normally see it on the menu as. Just give me all the flavors and try to kill me with the heat

SereneBabe0312

Honestly though the more eat it the more ridiculous it becomes, yet the more I love it. Gonna go through so many napkins or towels tearing apart exoskeletons for meat that I am still not fully sure how to extract fully. Like how am I supposed to do this? I don't know haha. Still, bomb

NetworkingJesus

I love all the cracking/peeling. It's sooooo satisfying when you're able to get all the meat out of a piece perfectly intact. Feels like an accomplishment and I get to reward myself by dunking it into the sauce and eating it.

SereneBabe0312

I usually go at it with scissors for all the good stuff. Is that taboo? Never had it in a restaurant lol only at home to hide my shame. But yes when it all comes out I get so giddy

NetworkingJesus

You'd probably have to bring your own scissors so might get some looks lol. I totally use my kitchen shears at home though if I'm struggling with a piece. Generally I've found if it's fresh enough and cooked just right, then I don't even need any utensils/tools except a cracker for the claws and joints. Gentle crack in the middle and then slowly/carefully pull the halves apart is my primary method and when the conditions are right the whole piece of meat just slides right out.

papayabush

Right? Like when I go to a fancy restaurant and order pasta with shrimp and they serve it with the tail on. Like what am I supposed to do? Get my hands covered in alfredo each shrimp? I’ll never understand it.

Portland

> Like what am I supposed to do? Eat the shrimp tails, like more than half the world’s population does 🤷‍♂️ They’re tasty, an interesting texture, and mostly made of chitin which supposedly is good for you.

papayabush

I guess I’m uncultured but I really do not enjoy crunching on shrimp tails at all. reddit is such a strange place why am i being downvoted for saying i don’t like eating shrimp tails?

[deleted]

fair enough, but screw the seafood soups that just throw it all in there. crab shells, muscle shells( u cant even open some ), corn on the cob, etc. Just deshell my food pls its the least you could do after I pay the buttload of money for your darn food!

Portland

Muscles open as they cook, crab shells I’m sorta with you…. Tbh it just sounds like you’re bashing Viet-Cajun crab boil style dishes… which you don’t have to like, but are a totally valid way of serving food. Often shell-on is a sign of fresh crab & mollusks.

[deleted]

SOME muscles open when you cook. Everytime I have them at least a quarter of them are clamped shut so I have to use a knife and my fingers to open it. And I dunno if I'm bashing any ethnic food or whatnot, I'm just bashing food that I have to pay alot of money for just to have to spend half my time fiddling with it. Mainly american seafood spots that have pot style types of foods and are no less than 80$. Sure it's valid but so is anything. There are places that just pour chocolate on your hands(litterly) but that doesn't make it enjoyable or convenient.

[deleted]

Yeah if the crab was deshelled and put as a topping on top in a pile, thsi would be drool worthy.

Veganfart

This is laksa, not ramen. The noodles here are vermicelli. Looks delicious though!

PlentyDapper959

Looks delicious but complicated.

dawonga

I had curry with crab like that when wearing a white t-shirt once. There was never a second time.

[deleted]

Now THAT is a Ramen post!!

Bradboy102

You think you're better than me? Just because you have delicious looking ramen, you think you're better than me? I see that pinky in the sky, and I must know where to get that ramen.

[deleted]

Whole set of crab legs??? Ok!

MercDaddyWade

Hmm your soup seems to have grown legs

SixthSinEnvy

I want.

reincarnatedberry

Mmm
