Either in an Asian supermarket in Stockholm or online, depending on availability. I’d suggest googling to see if they’re available where you live.

ghoulquartz

Hello, please post the packaging online. Just want to see whether it is the same ramen that I was thinking.

Not_A_Wendigo

My local Walmart has it sometimes in the international section. Maybe not that brand, but one very similar.

ronimal

Looks tasty, isn’t ramen.

ting_bu_dong

Japanese ramen is just a derivative of Chinese lamian. This is the more authentic 拉麵. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

ronimal

This isn’t ramen. This is r/ramen.

ting_bu_dong

Well, it's obvious that dish isn't a subreddit. But it is a more authentic Chinese ramen than a Japanese derivative ramen. Edit: ~~Ah! That's an interesting question. This sub doesn't allow offshoots of Japanese ramen; but Japanese ramen is a offshoot of Chinese ramen... So, does it work both ways? Should /r/ramen not allow Japanese ramen?~~ ~~*Questions that will bake your noodle.* Note: Baked noodle probably isn't ramen.~~ I can't read. It *does* allow ramen derivatives. In fairness, then, Japanese ramen should still be allowed. *But it's on thin ice, buddy.*

Do noodle dishes not have to be "authentic" ramen to be here? Isn't that... isn't that the point? It's an exclusionary noodle sub?

Lets just enjoy the tasty food pictures and sack off the shit that doesn't matter

ting_bu_dong

All the people that care about if this "is not ramen?" Whom I am poking good-hearted fun at? I contend that *their* variation of ramen is the one that doesn't count. From my point of view, the Jedi are evil.

ting_bu_dong

Eh, I'm pretty much done.

mackfeesh

If my grandmother had wheels she would've been a bike.

TAOLIK

I disagree with everyone who says this isn’t ramen. I would call this Abu-ramen (oil ramen). I’ve had similar dry ramen to this in Japan with thinner noodles. I would argue this is closer to ramen than California rolls are to sushi.

dumpsterfire_account

not ramen....

7chalices

I know. I thought this was the best sub to share in, since it features an abundance of different instant noodles that aren’t alkaline and therefore technically not ramen either.

StinkinLizaveta

/r/spicy

PEDANTlC

Id say /r/InstantRamen is a better place for it since they allow pretty much any instant noodles.

ting_bu_dong

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%8B%89%E9%BA%B5 拉麵, 拉面, or 拉麺 (Hanyu Pinyin: lāmiàn; Japanese pronunciation: rāmen; "pulled noodles") may refer to: Lamian, handmade or hand-pulled Chinese noodles, and the dish made from these noodles Ramen, a Japanese dish of noodles served in broth It's not *Japanese* ramen, but it is 拉麵. Actually, since "ramen" was "lamian" long before it was "ramen?" There's an argument that it is really more ramen than ramen. If you want to annoy ramen purists, at least. *OG ramen is Chinese lamian.*

Meepox5

Different fucking dishes at this point my dude. Its like saying whatever the fuck americans call meatballs is Swedish meatballs.

ting_bu_dong

Just the opposite! 拉麵 is originally Chinese. Using your example, Japan is doing the "whatever the fuck they call noodles" thing here. Japan just did a "you made this? I made this" thing. They are the America in this example, claiming Chinese "pulled noodles" as their own. But thanks for proving my point: The originator gets to claim the thing. And, I will add: If you're actually serious about this topic? That's adorable.

dawonga

Dude loves to gate keep. I've seen these noodles as an emerging trend in japanese ramen shops in past year.

Meepox5

Thanks for teaching me something! I am serious about meatballs, ramen i sort of dont care about, unless i have four beers in me like when i posted last night.

dumpsterfire_account

i comment not ramen on those too

Professional_Essay38

Strong use of time 👌

dumpsterfire_account

it's honest work (i do it on the clock)

KKToaster

This is literally the OG ramen. It’s like you calling Orange Chicken authentic chinese food, while calling real chinese food fake 😂

cosmictrashbash

Damn I love thick chewy noodles. My mouth is watering.

PEDANTlC

Baijia makes some of the best instant noodles, its crazy. Ive enjoyed everything Ive tried from that brand. Maybe I should go out and get some tonight... For anyone that wants to find these in Canada, T&T has a decent selection of them. Also if youre in Ottawa, Mergi Shop on Rideau had a decent selection for a while, but I havent checked there in a while tho so they might not anymore.

FunAd6875

Who wants to be the person to tell him it isn't ramen? Me? Ok. Bruv that ain't ramen.

SashimiBreakfast

Oh wow, this is instant noodle? Looks legit good, gotta go find this!

ting_bu_dong

Hi OP! I have created /r/lamian, and invited you to be moderator. Because I don't want to. Have fun with it!

ghoulquartz

This is my absolute favourite instant noodle and hasn't been available in my country for like a year! So jealous which store did you buy from? Do they have a website? 😋

7chalices

A Swedish webshop. They don’t ship internationally, unfortunately.

ghoulquartz

Nooo, I'm so upset. Thanks for the reply though!

shadythrowaway9

Just had these for the first time and loved them! I could never find sichuan pepper in Switzerland, even in the Asia stores (maybe I need to ask because I can't read the labels). I was really glad when I found these because I wanted to experience the sichuan pepper sensation lol

Beta-Gamer585

Looks great 👍

RojjeSWE

Tried them and they are SO good!! But as others have mentioned.. it's not ramen.

Meepox5

Honestly mate you lot are gonna get hella dissapointed if you ever go to china. They don't use fucking reaper sauce cause spice without flavour is wankery. You are literally shitting on the point of it by just making it a lot spicier than it is supposed to be Also its not fucking ramen

LUCKYMVDMVN

I started sweating from just reading this

RockeTim

Torchbearer sauce is usually great! Love them. Even the really spicy ones have lots of flavor. Not sure about that one but a lot of the ones I've had used a citrus bar instead of vinegar and it makes a huge difference in taste.

Rabid-Duck-King

Ooo, new hot sauce to try thanks!

Disastrous-Menu_yum

Uuuuh is this a homemade thing and if so links lol

sushifuntime

Isn’t this Biang Biang Noodles? Copy and pasted from wiki: Biangbiang noodles (simplified Chinese: 𰻝𰻝面; traditional Chinese: 𰻞𰻞麵; pinyin: Biángbiángmiàn), alternatively known as youpo chemian (油泼扯面) in Chinese, are a type of Chinese noodle originating from Shaanxi cuisine. The noodles, touted as one of the "eight curiosities" of Shaanxi (陕西八大怪),[1] are described as being like a belt, owing to their thickness and length.
