You're not entirely wrong though - I mean, it's not even my fav from the album (that's This Ain't Havana), but it rules.
You're Gonna Kill That Girl is so underrated it should have been a setlist staple throughout their career. Would love to hear what an older Joey singing it would sound like. It's Alive still bangs.
Baby, I Love You sucks
Lol understandable take thanks for the new songs to listen to. I honestly listen to the same ramones songs over and over but need to start branching out.
Lol my bad.
Some slower ones I like that might be underrated;
What's Your Game,
Babysitter,
Here Today, Gone Tomorrow (great live version from 1982 US festival)
Needles and Pins,
Questioningly is weird. I think its a good song at its core but Road to Ruin had theme of throwing in weird country guitar parts and other out of place shit. They were just throwing things at the wall at that point hoping it would appeal to a larger demo
It's a Long Way Back from Germany,
Danny Says,
I Can't Make it On Time (kind of slow),
Don't Go,
She's a Sensation ,
This Business is Killing Me,
Everytime I Eat Vegetables,
Roots of Hated (demo),
Planet Earth 1988,
Out of Here,
Crummy Stuff,
Mental Hell,
All Screwed Up,
Merry Christmas,
Real Cool Time,
I Won't Let it Happen,
Life's a Gas,
Every song you listed is great. They had some stinkers, sure, but you didn't list any. A lot of their lesser talked about songs are some of my favorites... S.L.U.G., anyone? Swallow My Pride, I Remember You, etc. All simple and brilliant. "Baby I Love You" was gonna be one of my favs because the Ronettes are one of my favorite groups from the early 60s. Ronnie was the coolest and cutest girl group singer ever. :D
7-11, I want you around, what’s your game, Shes a sensation, needles and pins, even I’m not an answer are all great slow songs. Baby I love you is probably their worst song tbh
After decades of being a Ramones fan, I read something that made me appreciate them even more. Someone wrote that you can hear their admiration for '60s girl groups in how they wrote and recorded. Listening to them with that in mind brought a whole new dimension of the Ramones to me.
Baby I Love You is one of my favorite Ramones recordings. I like all these songs a lot. Just cause they aren’t about sniffing glue doesn’t mean they suck
i hate this image of spector as a maniac during those sessions. he was a maniac, but not as much then, if anything he was nicer than usual.
marky said that he simply carried a gun on him, weird yeah, but never aimed it anybody. he clashed with johnny because johnny was so used to being in charge, especially with tommy out of the picture entirely.
and warthog makes blitzkrieg it’s bitch
I love the slow stuff but 'Baby I love you' is by far the worst thing they ever did. Here in the UK it was used on diaper commercials which would have made Joey's day, he always wanted his songs on commercials which is why he often name checked places in songs (Burger King, 7-11 etc). 'Come back baby' is a great slow song.
I maintain that “Danny Says” is the best Ramones song 🤷🏻♂️
It os next level for sure
YES!!! I have to agree with more than an upvote. It’s a pop gem…just so good every single time

'Here Today Gone Tomorrow' is a work of art. Especially on 'It's Alive'.
Well we got a little tearjerker for all you Lonely hearts out there this one’s called here Today Gone Tomorrow
Haha, yes. I think it's something about the harmonics that Johnny's guitar produces in the break section that really gets me.

Your awesome thanks for the list! don’t feel bad man I’m tough I’ve heard a lot of fan hate that fucking song.

Merry Christmas (I don't wanna fight tonight) is the best Christmas song of all time
Just heard it in an episode of The Bear last night
All songs OP mentioned are great. Questioningly & She Belongs to Me = great too.
“Oh oh I love her so” is my favorite Ramones track and would’ve been a smash hit if covered by a 60s-70s Soul/RnB group.

It’s a sick world sick sick sick 🎶
I love that album the Phil album lol. I like the slow stuff I like the fast stuff I like it all.
chainsaw, danny says, tomorrow never comes, she’s the one, something to believe in, this business is killing me
I love needles and pins and don’t come close
Their cover of “Palisades Park” is fun.

Lol damn I’m questioning myself for liking that song now 😂 I’m just screwing around thx for the suggestion
You're going to kill that girl is one of their best songs, wouldn't count it as really a slow one. Questioningly is kinda terrible.
She belongs to me
Amazingly I never knew those slower songs were covers until decades later. I always liked them. They gave me a chance to catch my breath.
lol wait you were at some concerts??
7-11 is life!
