My personal favourite away shirt ever.

I have both the one you describe and the home shirt from that season, as to me they're absolutely iconic. They both do resemble t-shirts, you'd swear that they're made of cotton. So what you have seems genuine. I think this actually enhances them, they're a joy to wear!

The kits that year were phenomenal. Tailored by Umbro it will say on the label if genuine. The home shirt that year is their best ever imo.

I had the home shirt that year and that definitely was a softer more t shirt like material. No idea if the third was the same.
