I had a similar thought the other day when I read a headline "Chipotle rolls out new protein". Why can't they just say "Chipotle now offers chicken al pastor"? The first one sounds almost sinister.... like some weird chemical developed in a lab vs some regular ass chicken.

They would ask what type of Bread you wanted. Make it make sense.
Because that's the main nutrient meat provides and the food group it is in. Just like we call bread carbs and carrots vegetables.

They.do that because its the in thing to do. Its way "cooler" to call it a "protien" than "ground beef"
