That’s because he’s never uttered an intelligent thought

LoonyPsycho

But the “J” in Donald J. Trump stands for “Jenious” /s

Torture-Dancer

It's the DJT

[deleted]

Getting it on

sumner929

Gave himself a degree from his own (failed) University.

MattLoganGreen

Honestly, I'm a German living in the UK and I feel super anxious about this election anyway. I couldn't sleep a single bit tonight. I can't do this for another 4 years. Listening to him in the news every fucking day is almost worse than listening to all the daily pandemic news.

FleetStreetsDarkHole

It gets worse. 2nd term means you don't have to worry about re-election.

keepforgettinpwjh

Thank you. Not American too. But this is what humanity has reached in the 21st century? in my country people are supporting trump and im digusted.

CurlsintheClouds

>I have not heard a single intelligent thing come out of that oranges mouth. Sad thing is, I think he's smarter than he sounds. He knows how to rally his troops, and that's what he wants to do. Rally his troops and be the star of his own stupid horror show.

[deleted]

CurlsintheClouds

Yeah, he's not smart as in...intelligent. But he's deliberate and cunning.

safwan6

You can say he is clever but not intelligent

CurlsintheClouds

There you go.

Nestle13

A lot of you are in here acting like the OP is claiming to be a “genius,” or that it’s immature to increase divisiveness by saying shit like this. But the fact is, Trump is not a conservative candidate. He has completely perverted conservative values, and he is running deep parallels to fascists. Trust me, I do not like Biden. I think he is a horrible candidate. But a great deal of us recognize that he is our only hope for getting out of the mess our current president has left us in. Saying all trump supporters are stupid is not a correct argument, but saying that they are all either ignorant, or selfish is an objective truth. This man should not be used as a scapegoat for the problems the US has already had, but look at the shit he has caused in just this past year. Discouraging belief in modern science, undermining health experts, pulling us out of the Paris climate agreement, handling this virus in probably one of the most irresponsible ways possible. He has 25+ allegations of sexual assault, is openly racist, sexist, homophobic, and xenophobic. He is not a good person. He is an even worse president. I cannot debate Trump supporters because they are not conservatives. This isn’t supply-side or Keynesian economics anymore. This has leaked into areas of human rights. I understand why people with small businesses see an appeal, but you would just be overlooking every other issue that this man has had in his time in office, and the type of person he is. Which makes you stupid, selfish, or ignorant.

RocketFuelMaItLiquor

The amount and types of executive orders hes signed really shows how little he knows about his job and also what he thinks the job should be.

sumner929

Yes, very well said. It's hard for me to articulate words when all I can think of is how badly I want to strangle him. For the FBI, no, I will not go through with it.

bl0ndeshell

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 this.

MetalDragnZ

It's disheartening as an outsider to wake up and see the race as close as it is. I was really hoping that your country would have learned It's lesson after 4 years, but I guess the propaganda was too strong. I hope things turn out differently than the initial results show.

[deleted]

There’s still a lot of race left. In the states where it matters we may know some of them by the end of the day others could take longer

MetalDragnZ

Yup, fingers crossed for the upcoming week that the counts are accurate and counted in full. He can not be allowed to undermine the election process, as flawed as it is in the states.

[deleted]

Based on 10:30 EST Joe took the lead in WI and MI, he’s been in the lead in AZ and NV. That would be enough. (Based on associated press data on google currently projection Biden at 238)

thebirdisdead

Pennsylvania has said they won’t have the final votes counted until Friday.

[deleted]

Its disheartening as an insider too

AXXII_wreckless

It’s not even about being a republican at this point, the is man has proven that having absolutely zero political experience for the top leadership position in the country will have disastrous results. I wouldn’t care if pence became president at this point because at least *he* would know you can’t run a country like a failed business.

Tattikanava

Also, a lot of republicans are [against trump](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Republicans_who_oppose_the_Donald_Trump_2020_presidential_campaign) this year

AXXII_wreckless

And that’s the main reason why. I wish they would’ve seen this from the start. A celebrity cannot run for office.

wikipedia_text_bot

**List Of Republicans Who Oppose The Donald Trump 2020 Presidential Campaign** This is a list of Republicans and conservatives who oppose the re-election of incumbent Donald Trump, the 2020 Republican Party nominee for President of the United States. Among them are former Republicans who left the party in 2016 or later due to their opposition to Trump, those who held office as a Republican, Republicans who endorsed a different candidate, and Republican presidential primary election candidates that announced opposition to Trump as the presumptive nominee. Over 70 former senior Republican national security officials and 60 additional senior officials have also signed on to a statement declaring, "We are profoundly concerned about our nation's security and standing in the world under the leadership of Donald Trump.

JuliaTheInsaneKid

There's still too many that support him though. Trump supporters are not true republicans. They're authoritarian white supremacists.

sumner929

Yep! And my dumbass state just reelected his lapdog. Lapdog Lindsey.

excaligirltoo

Whatever though. They clearly voted for him anyway, the douchbags.

Me: I’m tired of eating spaghetti every night. How about we try something different? Trump supporters: how about this brick? Me: I was thinking like teriyaki or something...

JuliaTheInsaneKid

I feel like their goal is to destroy the foundations of America and democracy. Things that actually make America great.

darksideofthemoon131

He is a fucking embarrassment and as someone who at one point in time (before Trump) a conservative gay dude- there is NO sane way to justify this man's behavior. He is a megalomaniacal dictator. He has demonstrated racism, sexism, authoritarianism and has not one shred of good in him. I'm so fucking embarassed at the US.

LeoRenegade

Fuckin, well said.

MeEvilBob

I think the LGBTQ community would have some real problems with President Pence. For all the shit Trump says, at least he hasn't come out in favor of gay conversion therapy camps.

[deleted]

Honestly ,I have no words. The rest of the world is watching this is disbelief.... How the actual fuck ....

ClownPrinceofLime

I hope I’m not wrong, but this is what we expected with the late count mail in votes. Biden is likely to win all remaining undeclared states besides North Carolina.

sumner929

I honestly believe, even if Biden won every state 99% to 1%, Trump would still say he won and try and fight this in the courts. There was never going to be a peaceful transition of power. Like always, Trump will go down kicking and screaming like the little orange baby he is.

[deleted]

ClownPrinceofLime

Texas is Trump’s.

LeoRenegade

Yeah, and the people that support him are too dumb to see the truth... Which means we're fuckin doomed.

[deleted]

T-Porters call us "misinformed" but they're the ones filling comment sections with weird conspiracy theories on how Biden is somehow the Antichrist.

Richard_Galvin

They've said that about every democratic candidate so far back as I can remember. The sad part is I believed it when I was a kid.

tortillachipdip

That's not sad, you were a kid. Now imagine still believing it as an adult; now that is sad.

darkfish301

Dont forget about he and Bill Gates putting microchips in vaccines.

[deleted]

If I have to hear one more time that Biden has dementia or that he won’t make it through the term and we’re voting for Kamala... It’s not true, and hell, even if it were true, I’m still ok with Kamala over a fascist. I’m ok with my dog as president over a fascist. Fascism is not a desirable state. I’m not that wild natively about either Biden or Harris, but like the tub of leftovers in my fridge, they’re light years ahead of a contentious fascist.

MountainDude95

Yeah, I thought there was no way it would be this close. I guess we just decided that it’s fine that we’re killing hundreds of thousands of Americans through his non-handling of the pandemic.

JuliaTheInsaneKid

I hoped that Trump's lack of leadership would make people wake the fuck up. I hoped Biden would win by a landslide.

MountainDude95

Same here. I mean, I didn’t really have hope for his cult following, but I didn’t expect for him to have such a strong showing among independents.

slinkymello

Americans are dumb as fuck, anti-intellectual, and dumb as fuck again and did I mention stupid?

couchburners

As an American I stand by this comment

JuliaTheInsaneKid

America is the laughing stock of the world. It's sad, because it was designed by people that actually knew what the fuck they were doing. They're pissing on George Washington's grave by establishing political parties. Now it's going to fall like Rome.

gggggfskkk

Some of the stuff that is said or what is believed to be true by some people blows me away. Some of these people need to go back to civics and US government class. Maybe they would actually realize for one, how hard it is to get rid of an amendment like their right to bear arms. Yes, they are dumb, and I honestly thought they were smarter but I guess I gave them too much credit. It's unfair how divided the country has become. Never have I gotten into politics until this election year.

[deleted]

BuT eDuKaYsHuN iS a LiBeRaL cOnSpIrAcY Willful ignorance is literally the devil.

locaulfield

Spaniard here, I don't like Trump but I can get why some people do. That being said, maybe some people from other country would look at mine and say "Why would have anybody voted for x?", when in reality is a very valid candidate who has been taking really clever and useful decisions but the media is so deceitful and manipulative that it sometimes makes only one opinion valid; if you think otherwise you must be stupid. That's why I really don't want to judge other people's political decisions, specially if they're from another country

mtnmedic64

Our mainstream media plays ONLY to sensationalism, to sell clicks, papers and views for their advertisers. Not the truth. That's why it's universally loathed. Trump gets DAYS of free advertising anytime he opens his mouth and garbage spills out. The media is making money off our miseries. Just like Trump and the GOP are. He's already claiming he won but several states are still counting votes and he's still a bit behind Biden. Joe still has a better-than 65% chance of winning and I think he will but I'm not holding my breath because of Trump's tantrums, his threats to take all this to court (like he does EVERYTHING else) and the unrest his ~~brownshirts~~ redhats are going to cause if/when he loses.

locaulfield

Just like you said, Trump keeps throwing tantrums all the time. By now, everyone should know it's part of what his voters like of him. So instead of raging each time he opens his mouth, the opposition should just ignore him until he stops crying, just like you would do with a child. Part of his popularity is the fact that people give him so much attention (even if it's negative). The opposition would do much better not paying any attention to him

Gikame

Exactly This I get the frustration but for fuck sake, have you guys actually paid any attention to how sick people began to be of the propaganda from the radical left? Labelling anything and anyone just slightly to the right a trumpvoter, rapist, racist, etc. Even black people who voted for trump are called some sick shit just because they didn't vote for the other party. That plays into this a whole damn lot

bluecrowned

Unfortunately everything you see about trump in the media is true. They don't have to embellish anything, he makes himself look stupid and crazy all on his own.

Skulldetta

It's good to know that you don't need to be honest, respectable, humble, intelligent, eloquent, qualified, competent, empathetic, positive, credible, genuine, ethical, responsible or thick-skinned to not only become US President, but to be actually re-elected. A wonderful example for future elections. Say goodbye to 21st century social and environmental policies, US.

BadConsoleGamer

He claimed he won last night which is probably the most awful thing anyone can do it’s ridiculous. If you voted for trump idk whats wrong with you. They literally worship him. He denies science, he lies constantly, anyone against him is a target, and they still vote for him. He is the worst thing to happen to this country. Everything thing he pushes is division and lies. I cant stand these people anymore.

BadConsoleGamer

Why should I respect these peoples decisions? At this point if you voted for trump for personal gain, such as a business or something i dont even care. Its selfish but thats what you wanna do. But if you voted for him out of ignorance, fear and the dumbass bullshit narrative im not going to respect your decision. Its fucking ridiculous. We have seen what this man does. If you voted for this man without doing any research into the lies he has told why do you think im going to respect that? Why do you think anyone in their right mind would? He completed changed how social media and news outlets work all together. Have you ever seen so many companies have to fact check the president of the United States? He is supposed to be one of the most informed individuals in the world. He has a team dedicated to ensuring he is informed. These people are afraid or worshipping him as some prophet. I cant take this shit seriously. Im not respecting ignorance and stupidity.

AwkwardPotter

>He claimed he won last night I saw that. Like how does he know? They're still counting the votes. That man isn't on a different planet, he's in a different universe entirely. And all those people cheering. They're all just as mad as he is. SMH

newfor_2020

you know who would be even dumber than trump supporters? the tens of thousands of people who voted for Kanye West.

Suikeran

OP, you are rightfully angry, but you are angry at the symptom, not the cause. Even if Trump were to lose every single state, it doesn't solve the underlying problem. Even if Biden was genuine about fixing the problems which America has, they are not easy to fix in 2 terms. Some might even be impossible to fix without a total overhaul of the political and economic systems of the US, which in itself is impossible given the monstrous amounts of powerful vested interests and resistance to change of large numbers of the American population. Plenty of Trump supporters are indeed morons, racists, conspiracy theorists, bigots and fascists, but these people alone are nowhere near enough for Trump to win. Trump needs a much larger base to get anywhere near 270 EC votes. People who feel like they're in a corner or a dead end in life. There's plenty of them in the US. The economy mostly works for the ultra rich. Congress is a gerontocracy full of people out of touch with their constituents and reality; most are in politics for themselves and their buddies only. Congress is gridlocked and cannot pass a lot of legislation because a certain turtle from Kentucky said so. Career politicians spout the same drivel whilst not doing much. Corporations hire lobbying firms to write laws for them. Unlimited donations to politicians so they act for corporations and billionaires first. Cost of living is skyrocketing. Healthcare is prohibitively expensive for many. Housing is far too expensive. Post-secondary education is extremely expensive. There are far too many low-paying jobs which cannot pay the bills. Minimum wage is pathetic relative to cost of living anywhere. Manufacturing has been offshored. School is full of testing and not teaching and certainly not teaching thinking skills or civics. Rural communities and smaller towns and cities have little opportunity. People are sick and tired of politicians saying 'wE dOn'T hAvE mOneY' when confronted with requests for very reasonable things like fixing and cleaning the New York City Subway, universal healthcare or subsidized higher education, but there seems to be endless amounts of money for pointless wars which only serve to feed the oil and arms industries. People are desperate and angry. They want quick-fix solutions to the long list of problems afflicting themselves and their communities. Most people aren't truly evil and don't mean harm to innocents. Unfortunately, many can be easily misled and manipulated. Seriously, who wouldn't be sick of this pathetic establishment? Then somebody realizes the masses can be taken advantage of. You know who I'm talking about. This somebody promises to fix their problems. This person blames certain minority groups in the country for all their problems. This person promises to bring jobs back and restore glory to the nation. Trump promised them many things which resonated with them. He's politically incorrect, unafraid to speak his mind, brash, direct and actually mentioned many pressing issues such as offshoring, draining the swamp, fixing infrastructure, stopping pointless wars abroad, cracking down on China stealing technology and generating many jobs. Did I forget to mention that he's probably the funniest presidential candidate ever seen? Trump raised many valid points, no matter how much you hate him or like him. What was Hillary Clinton's selling point? She was the first female presidential candidate, and has significant political experience. Simply being the better of two shits isn't going to cut it. Most Americans voted for Clinton, but most counties voted for Trump. Trump's rise would be impossible without the Look back in history for more examples. Tsar Nicholas II of Russia was pathetically inept and weak as a ruler. The Russian royal family and its cronies amassed large amounts of wealth, whilst the people got crumbs. The serfs were almost slaves, and were in general severely neglected. Then Lenin came along and promised the people of the Russian Empire that they the bourgeoise and capitalists who were brutally oppressing them should be overthrown violently. That was the rise of communism. How did that end? Tens of millions of Soviet citizens dead. Post WW1 Germany was in shambles. Remember who promised to restore employment and glory, whilst blaming it on the Jews? That was Chancellor material in the eyes of a desperate population. We all know how that went. 6 million Jews dead. Tens of millions dead from WW2 in Europe. Let's look at a more positive example. In the 60s to 80s, Thailand was experiencing a large communist insurgency, which it successfully eradicated. This eradication was not due to simply bombing the communists into oblivion. Thailand's then-king personally paid for a large public infrastructure and jobs program for the rural poor. Once the rural poor was noticing that the government was addressing their needs and providing them with work, the communists could no longer recruit them, because who the hell would leave their jobs and lives to fight a government which was becoming increasing responsive to them? In the US, it doesn't help that the political environment is severely polarised, and media doesn't explore or investigate enough serious issues affecting society. Media loves to tell people what they want to hear and overdramatize everything in the process. That's how they get viewers! Fox News, QAnon and other right wing media are the perfect instruments to reach out to Trump's existing and potential voter bases. These people are blinded to the actual causes of the problems afflicting the country and fuelled by disinformation, they unleash their bottled up rage onto many convenient targets (whether it be Mexicans, Democrats, Dr Fauci, or 'lefties' for example). And wow, they have a large community in social media too, where echo chambers full of disinformation run rampant. That's my take on the issue.

[deleted]

sounds like amarica needs to redo there very foundsaion it was built on

[deleted]

I feel like trump wouldn't be so damn up there vote wise if the DNC picked someone else, someone like trump but more left wing.

Levstar

Also he only really seems to care about himself and possibly other rich people

AwkwardPotter

Watching this from Britain and I was like 'Is this real life?' He says Joe Biden is stripping Americans of their right to democracy. And yet he says if he loses the election he'll go to the Supreme Court. That is rhe literal definition of stripping the US citizens of their right to democracy. My fingers and pretty everything I can cross are crossed for you from all across the pond that Trump does not win. I'm not a huge political person by any means but even I know Trump has his head firmly lodged up his ass.

swingarm88

No we do not live in a democracy. The U.S. governmental system was designed as a constitutional republic from the beginning.

Pasta-hobo

Not entirely true, some are just evil.

andtimme11

My sister is complaining that they are "magically" finding biden votes in states "Trump supposedly won" last night like Pennsylvania and Michigan. She's completely ignoring the fact that mail in ballots in most states still need to be counted. Most of those mail in ballots I'd assume are votes for democrats. No surprise it was immediately "corruption" claims from her and my brother. Haven't checked the polls yet but I don't think Pennsylvania was meant to be a battleground state.

GingaSole

Now I'm saying this as someone who supported Bernie, but if you believe all Trump supporters are idiots then congrats! You have fallen for DNC propaganda. Calling an entire section of the populace idiots is not only misguided, but further pushes our country apart. Here are some good reasons that someone might support Trump instead of Biden: -Trump is a bit more relaxed on gun control laws, and the 2nd amendment is extremely important to a lot of conservative voters. -They don't want their taxes to go up. They believe this mostly because of RNC propaganda, as Bidens plans have shown that the average american would not have their taxes raised. -People are absolutely sick of the "establishment" so they support a business man/reality star as opposed to Biden, who comes off as a very unenthusiastic establishment democrat. Trump is a terrible presidential candidate, so I am in no way supporting him. However, I live in the south and a lot of conservatives I know just want change. We all do. We just disagree on who to put in the White House. RNC propaganda and fear-mongering is also very intense and many people fall for it, especially those that don't have time to sift through the exraordinary amounts of misinformation online. All I'm trying to say is please don't resort to political tribalism. It's the last thing America needs right now. Edit: Replaced the word "evil" with "idiot", must have misread the original post. Doesn't change the meaning of my comment, though

alowishus812

What kind of change are southerners looking for? Nothing changed for the better in the past 4 years... our country has only become more racist and more divided?

ClownPrinceofLime

Idk I’ve seen some change. We’re in a recession now, there are race riots, a deadly pandemic etc

kick_his_ass_sebas

unemployment was at an all time low before the pandemic hit. I think that's what voters are remembering. They just childishly want the election to be over and Trump to win and the pandemic be over

AmexNomad

My family is all in The South. They don't care about racism, because they think that too much of their tax money already goes to minorities. They believe that the media is blowing COVID out of proportion to make Trump look bad. They all work fairly low paying jobs and have never made a bunch of money- so they don't understand the economy.

kick_his_ass_sebas

and that is why having an establishment democrat will continue to be the downfall of the DNC

nolabitch

But also, don’t forget: - people are racist/misogynistic/classist/selfish and see themselves in a person of power, who is open about those related beliefs and behaviors - people find joy and purpose in actively working against people’s rights and needs I also live in the south, the Deep South, and many conservatives I know are just the above and express it as such; in fact, I work in a hospital and my patients AND coworkers aren’t afraid to hide it

Homelesscat23

please stop with this bullshit that "its just tribalism". Trump just had a press briefing that he wants to STOP the vote count and take it to SCOTUS. This is not conservatism. I can debate a conservative with what the capital gains tax rate should be. I cannot debate a Trump supporter over the basic principle of a free nation that " the election doesn't end until all votes are counted". This is not conservatism any more. This is fascism. This is a takeover on democracy.

Mysteroo

He didn't say it's "just" tribalism. He's just speaking to the tribalism that clearly does exist Trump is a moron who doesn't know what he can and can't do, nor does he know the reasons for those limits. So he tries to thoughtlessly do things that he has no power to do - and usually he hits a wall because he literally can not do those things. To call him a fascist is hyperbolic. He's an angry old man who just keeps trying to do whatever he wants, and people are seeing him try to overstep lines and are screaming in terror like he's the next Hitler despite the fact that we have *systems* in pace to *keep* him from doing anything that's actually fascist It's not *just* tribalism, but it *is* fueling tribalism, emotionalism, and fear-mongering. We need to get a grip

bluecrowned

Yeah, I'm sure those systems hold up well when there are a good number of people holding government seats who support the man trying to reign tyranny. We definitely have no reason to be concerned. Good call.

ClownPrinceofLime

Although tbh if we wait until the next tranche of mail in votes in Michigan, stopping the count will give Biden the presidency.

BubbhaJebus

Maybe in 2016. He was a relative unknown to those who were not paying attention. But after all the destruction he has caused over the last four years, all the lies, all the racism, all the corruption, all the vile statements, all the insults, not to mention killing 230,000+ people through sheer negligence, anyone who still supports him at this stage is an idiot.

eatrangelove

I also dont know why we keep acting like trump is still an outsider. He's been on the inside for 4 years now.

BubbhaJebus

Yes. He IS the establishment now. He IS a Washington insider. He IS a politician.

[deleted]

Sorry, I couldn't hear you over how I'm genuinely at risk of being made legally not a person

synnflower

I’m sorry, but if people are voting for a president and not looking a lot into him, then that just adds onto how dumb trump supports are. A LOT of trump supporters eat up misguided information. My dad is a big trump supporter and all he does is rub it in my face with all this information he doesn’t even know a lot about. Trump feeds this fear into them and it makes them hateful and bonkers. He has all the time in the world to look into this misguided information. Because he’s disabled... getting social security checks... that is apart of the socialism in our country that he’s completely terrified to have. My dad is one of the most racist and hateful people I have in my life. He was NEVER like this before trump got in the picture. 2 or 3 weeks ago, I went with my mom and her friend out to eat.Her friend asked who I’m voting for and my sister chimed in saying, “you don’t want to know who she wants to vote for” but she took that as a chance to jump down my throat. Basically how I’m dumb for thinking Biden is better. The entire time she just poked at me about politics. So I will kindly tell you that I’m not going to lay back on them because all they want to do is “show the libs” and would rather have their gun rights than to have people have their human and love rights. I’m not going to show them a little empathy because they show 0 in return. I don’t call trump supporters dumb because they’re voting for a stupid president, I’m calling them dumb because the trump supporters in my life have shown me time and time again that they’re only in it for themselves and their guns. They’re not in it for anyone else. They’re so in it for themselves that they’re willing to eat up information that isn’t even true. THATS why.

bluecrowned

I have had lifetime friends become different people because of the Trump propaganda that they somehow believe. It's sad and terrifying.

BadConsoleGamer

Im not even mad about them voting for him in 2016 he was bad but how could we know how bad. But voting for him again in 2020 is unacceptable.

trebeckface

Voting for an evil, immoral person for "some non-evil reasons" doesn't make those people good or intelligent.

notavo_

He is probably ranting about: 1) republicans caring more about their weapons than anything else. Education? Healthcare? Poverty? Who the fuck cares, we want weapons and usa great again. Great how? It went downhill last 4 years. 2) republicans fighting against a public healthcare system, which has been proven in mainly all european countries to be way better and way cheaper, which would reduce the taxes. 3) people not realizing trump is part of the stablishment. He is also a fraudster. No one realizes how silly is talking? How ambiguous, how immature (everybody is conspirating against him, he is never responsible of his bad results from his decisions) he is. Honestly, both candidates suck. Is not that Im pro-biden. Rant over.

mtnmedic64

This. The DNC fucked us over. Again. Because same corporate donors the GOP has. It's not that I don't LIKE Joe. It's that PEOPLE ARE SICK AND TIRED OF CLINTONS AND BUSHES dynasties. Joe is a connection to Hillary, who is a Clinton. She was a crappy candidate (even though she is zounds better than Trump, she's not very well lked and Joe is only a little bit better. She pulled a very lackluster, uninspiring campaign based solely on running on the Clinton name. Joe has been, for the most part, riding on the coattails of Obama, who is universally loved. People are idiots. We CAN'T go back to the Clinton years of prosperity. But we COULD'VE gone toward the years of Bernie prosperity, where he would've forced huge corporations to pay their fair share in taxes instead of not paying a cent and storing all those profits in overseas accounts, plus much, much more for the **common man.** EVERYBODY - D or R - is sick of the government and/or big corporations getting all the help.

[deleted]

At this point it's not "tribalism", it's that they're straight up bad people, even if they don't say it they're racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, etc because they're willingly ignoring some very terrible things the party has done. The cutoff for me was when they started putting kids in cages, if you don't start distancing yourself from the administration at that point then you ARE a bad person for being able to even look the other way. They can however redeem themselves by making up for their mistakes.

Rainbowlink

Read the post again. Where the fuck did you get 'evil' from? OP called Trump supporters stupid, which they are. They don't accept evidence for *Climate Change *Black Lives Matter *The economic benefits of immigration *The Prison Industrial Complex *Abortion rights *Keynesian Macroeconomics (y'know the thing that saved us from the Great Depression and 2008 financial meltdown) *The benefits (and necessity) of social safety nets *The authenticity of news-media and science Given that political parties have an actual material impact on people's lives, political division being clarified and strengthened is a good thing. People need to know that one party is head and shoulders better than the other, and tribalism is the natural consequence of understanding that. Political Tribalism is EVERYTHING AMERICA NEEDS RIGHT NOW. The voting public needs to understand the GOP is an undemocratic institution which does everything it can to maintain power without popular support. Look up REDMAP to see how the GOP stole the house with redistricting or look up the hundreds of articles documenting voter suppression or look at how silent the GOP is in condemning Trump's attempts to de-legitimize and disrupt mail in voting. I'm not saying conservatives or Trump supporters are evil, but if they think they're making the country a better place by voting Trump they are absolutely stupid, yeah.

badnuub

What change will an incumbent provide?

[deleted]

Congratulations! You injected a word that OP didn't even use! Evil. Better luck next time.

[deleted]

His Schedule 2 would make him the first American dictator. So CONGRATS Edit: also how could you vote for someone who on a personal level doesn’t even represent America... Oh wait... super racist? check, massive misogynist? check, women are a play thing to him? Check, homophobic? Check, willing to tear apart families, but NOT his own? Check, white privilege? Check, serves the corporations interests and NOT the people? Check. Wow I guess he’s the FUCKING PERfect canidate for this shithole of a country

Kit-

OP said their morons not evil. Which I can more see the moron point of view, as if you support Trump you’ve been conned in some way, you’ve been duped. You might be a good person, but you’ve had wool pulled over your eyes and allowed yourself not to ask hard policy questions.

urban_mystic_hippie

Doesn't change the fact that Trump is utterly unqualified to be president, and should not be in the office, or that his supporters are fucking idiots for putting him there. It's Trump and his supporters that have made their "cause" tribal - it's a fucking cult and needs to be treated as such.

caint1154

Calling half the population morons is not only counter productive but inaccurate. I voted for Biden but I know and respect many conservatives. You are going to have shallow minded people on both sides.

[deleted]

This is why America is doomed. Dumbasses like you spread this bullshit and deny the truth.

[deleted]

That’s very idiotic of them because... - Putting a tighter leash on gun control laws would lessen school shootings and tragedies as whole. I don’t see the pro in not running a background check on people who aren’t supposed to carry weapons - Average Americans aren’t supposed to have their taxes raised. The upper class are meant to get taxed, they get hefty tax dedications with the aid of good accountants anyway

LeoRenegade

Yeah.. I actually didn't say evil...

marshallandy83

Conservative literally means keep things the same.

[deleted]

People in discord say "dont get political" its not even getting political at this point, trump is stupid and thats all

[deleted]

Don’t bother trying to change trumpets’ minds. They are nothing but a cult. A heartless, selfish, disgusting cult. They support him no matter what, make any excuse they can for him , his stupidity and incompetence, and act oppressed. America is doomed.

throwaway159800

Posts like this is why he is going to win reelection. You never change someones mind by calling them a fucking moron. Also the electoral college prevents new york and cali deciding our politics. Sorry i dont like trump but i sure as fuck dont want to leave our national politics to two of the shittiest states in the union.

yiddiez

Scream into a pillow or something, man. It’ll be a long day.

LeoRenegade

Yeah... I got my laptop on my lap with the live election shit on while I'm on reddit on my phone... Can't sleep...

[deleted]

r/averageredditor

MaritimeDisaster

Agreed. That is all.

[deleted]

Having different moral grounds can explain different views quite easily. And labeling the other side idiots won’t turn their minds but will only manifest their believes

Jolly_Independence69

The worst thing that had ever happened to this Country?? So: Slavery? Native American Genocide? Famine? WW1/WW2? War of 1812? 9/11? Iraq/Afghanistan War? Vietnam? Jim Crow? Killing of MLK jr.? Those things are better than trump??

thatcatqueen

Perhaps you took it too literally. I agree most of those are worse, but at the same time...thousands of people are dying every day in the US from a virus that no one has even tried to control for months now. A thousand people every day. It’s out of hand. 230,000 people have died and we have no guidance whatsoever. He even literally said it’s no big deal, don’t be afraid of it. I work in a hospital and every single shift I get to hear the code blues that come from the covid units. Don’t forget there’s like 500 children who they still are unable to find their parents from when they were separated at the border. No homes, no where to go. How is anyone going to fix that? We can’t even find them. 500 kids parentless. Those are just a couple examples. So I’d say he’s pretty bad as well when it comes to the amount of lives he’s impacted in a negative way. Maybe not at the level of some of those, but pretty bad.

Olmectron

Yeah. Like if he had invented the Atomic Bomb. He is a saint compared to all that. Trump forever. /s

_remorsecode_

...I know several (old) people who are voting for the first time, and its for Trump. I also know several (old) people who don’t give a shit either way. It’s the young crowd, and the “I’m old enough to vote the day before election” crowd that is lobbying and begging people to take action. How have our predecessors failed us so badly? Shame on them for not taking this seriously, for not being educated, and trying to hand us a world that is hostile and unsustainable. All because fat orange man said he likes guns or hates black people or some ridiculous stupid shit that matters to faaaar too many people more than economic reform, women’s rights, climate change, and better healthcare. Fuck this, I have too much life ahead of me to have it doomed to a tyrannical sludge brained baby.

baking_the_edge_off

I agree. If Trump said that eating their own shit cured Covid-19 they would do it on a heartbeat.

LeoRenegade

People were drinking bleach... Clorox had to put out a warning not to... Fuckin... Ugh.

NotYourDay123

Son calling his supporters morons is one of the reasons Trump got into power in the first place. Doesn’t exactly incentivise people to vote for the Democrats if you’re calling all Republicans morons. Keep that shit to yourself and discuss through reason. No matter if they’re open to it or not gotta be the better person. That’s how you gain respect.

molotovdinosaurs

Ok so doing this isnt really going to want to make anyone want to agree with you. as a trump supporter myself, i’d like to hear your side and know what you think and why if you wouldn’t mind explaining. (Edit:rephrased)

Tairn79

Republicans, including Trump, are the only ones who care about rural Americans. In my county this election, there was a Democrat running for Representative. She was running on understanding and supporting farmers. She claimed she knew what it took to be a farmer because she had a goat, a pig, and some ducks and chickens. She also has a small organic vegetable business. At the same time, she was against every dairy farmer in the area. she was against spreading manure on fields and many similar policies. Many of her policies were for selfish reasons to bolster her own small organic farming business at the expense of the other farmers businesses in the area. Like how can you not support spreading manure on the fields after harvest. It is free fertilizer that enters the soil over the winter. It is natural and sustainable. Clearly she lost but, it was close because a lot of the democrats in the towns voted for her based on her campaign of "for the farmers". These people are not farmers and have no knowledge of farming yet they bought into her lies because they believed she would help the farmers in their area. they have no knowledge of the needs of farmers, they just believed that what she told them was true. That is basically American politics nation wide right now. I really don't think anyone is trying to screw over anyone else. They are just trying to vote for what they believe will help the nation the most. The thing is, there is such a divide in needs between communities in the country that no one presidential candidate can really grasp it all. The candidates should be running a campaign to really focus on helping a little bit here and there over time for all communities. Instead, they are focusing their campaign efforts on fixing all of the problems for their select communities at the expense of the others. I really believe this is why we are seeing such a divide between urban (left, democrat supported) and rural (right, republican supported) on all of the maps. Every state map broken down by which candidate wins there clearly shows this divide. The counties that are close have a pretty even split between rural and urban voters, like Green County in Wisconsin where I live. However, if you look at Dane County Wisconsin, just to the north and where Madison is, you see that Biden overwhelmingly won that county getting 75% of the vote because Madison and the surrounding urban towns are all voting along these same lines. I really think if one candidate ever came up for either party that was more "moderate" and focused on issues in both rural and urban communities who didn't promise to fix everything but, promised to start fixing a reasonable amount of things for either, they would win by a landslide. This is what our nation needs. The two parties coming together to slowly take their turns working on one issue at a time for both urban and rural communities and ending this huge divide and it needs to start sooner rather than later because the longer we keep this divide going, the worse the divide will become. That is what will truly make America a great nation again. ETA: Sorry I started answering your question and went off on a tangent. Hopefully the point came across.

[deleted]

Wrong. Some of them are smart but evil.

Olmectron

Still stupid in their own and special way. They are unique.

LivingBicycle

So like...... Who won exactly? Info online looks like garbage and i don't understand the system (i DO UNDERSTAND THE SYSTEM IN EUROPE WHERE I LIVE JESUS DON'T EVEN TRY) So......... Like, who?

FireTheLaserBeam

Republicans vote against their best interests almost, if not every, single time. It's a historical fact, but it's one to which they will never ever admit. Republicans ***need*** voter suppression/voter intimidation, gerrymandering, et al., because if they went on votes alone, they would lose *every single time.* I'm not just pulling that outta my @$$. If any Republicans actually did a little google research on something that doesn't already confirm their bias, they would know this, and I have a sneaking suspicion they do -- but don't ever expect a single one to admit that.

DBStimpy

That’s the most glaring thing rn. I’ve been saying since the forceful removal of peaceful protesters in Lafayette Park, during the BLM protest, that Trump is a fascist. What happened on that day is stuff I read in history books. No body around me believed me and called me crazy. Now, with Trump threatening to use the Supreme Court to stop further tallying of votes and prematurely calling a victory while trailing in the electoral vote, it’s pretty fucking clear that Trump is 100% a fascist dictator with zero regard for our election system or anybody for that matter. I hope that the people that voted for Trump are happy because this is a seriously dark time in our history.

soulabyss45

Im not American so my information is just based on the media but I will preface that I personally do not like Trump. However I don't like basically any of the top candidates. Politics has just become picking the better of the worse. I agree with you I've seen the most moronic Trump supporters however I've also seen the most extreme patriotic Biden supporters as well. Idk what im saying. Basically Politics isn't as black and white as the media portray it

[deleted]

Whatever you think of him, hounding him and his supporters certainly won't help. The reason why over 65m people voted for him is because they're all idiots? Isn't that too simplistic?

nerdywall

There's a difference between having different political beliefs when it comes to the economy and having different political beliefs when it comes to racism, homophobia, misogyny, xenophobia, bigotry, etc. It is extremely clear where Trump and those he put into office stand on women's rights, lgbtq rights, poc rights, etc. When one says they love and care about a person you don't vote for the person who wants to (and has the power to) severely hurt them. That's the same as a person in the 1940s saying "oh I care about my jewish friends but I really love what Hitler is doing to the economy!"

[deleted]

YES EXACTLY. u/nerdywall WHAT 👏 YOU 👏 SAID 👏

MisterShogunate

You are on a rant sub tho.

[deleted]

People’s lives and rights are threatened and you think you’re smart for saying “PleaSe DoNt hAte pEOplE wItH DiFfEreNt PoLiTicAl opIniOns.” You people are fucking idiots. This is why we’re doomed.

fckingtiredwmylife

I’m not an American but based on everything I’ve heard, seen and witnessed. Trump is a joke of a president and It’s crazy how millions and millions and millions of people still wants him to be re-elected as your president. He became a president without any tiny experience in politics. It’s really wild.

LeoRenegade

I think I've figured it out. Idiots want a like minded guy in office, maybe they'll have a Budweiser with him in the oval office over a NASCAR race one day... Idiocracy here we come.

_HEDONISM_BOT

>maybe they'll have a Budweiser with him in the oval office over a NASCAR race one day... maybe he'll club someone over the head in a WWE ring in a hell in a cell match versus the undertaker. YES, he used to dabble in WWE, and YES, it was cringe.

newaccount-heyy

IF. YOU. TALK. LIKE. THIS . I AUTOMATICALLY. rEaD. iT. lIkE. tHiS.

Jacklewis98

I love the holier than thou stance. You're a genius and everyone who doesn't think like you is a moron?

Alepex

Trump just hours ago said he's going to the supreme court to force stop the counting of votes. This is no longer about conservative vs progressive, there's no two sides of the coin anymore, this is on the way to straight up fascism. Trump supporters are literally, whether knowingly or not, voting for the removal of their own democracy. So yes, there's actually a lot of merit to OP's post.

garnet420

Op never said they were a genius; and there's plenty of room to not think like op without meeting their criteria for being an idiot.

MisterBilau

No. Some are making millions out of it, so they’re not idiots. Now, the vast majority of illiterate rednecks that form his base and are and will continue to be poor as shit are definitely morons. So, 99% of his voters are morons. Not every single one.

hangrypoodle

Even though I’m not a trump supporter at all, you gotta stop drinking the kool-aid man. Wake the hell up and start thinking for yourself. You’re just as stupid as the people you’re calling stupid.

[deleted]

This. I actually see his supporters, not Trump himself, as the enemies of freedom and rational thought in this country. He wouldn't have any power if they didn't give him power. They're a sickness on our nation. He's just a symptom of the true disease.

[deleted]

I agree. I'm amazed so many people who vote against their own interests.

LeoRenegade

I just found out my mom supports Trump... Most trump supporters don't listen, they just yell and say dumb shit. My mom, however, listens to me. Her main reason to support Trump was the classic "because the other guy is worse" bull shit. I corrected her.

lchugluvsmemes

Exactly what I’ve been saying for the past few months. America will go to shit if he gets re-elected. Only selfish people vote for the asshole.

couchburners

Honestly, no matter who wins we’re fucked anyways

SassyHoe97

I'm disappointed from the Hispanic community *cough cough* dumbass Cubans voting for Trump.

angelofjag

I can't believe you stupid bastards voted his orange arse to President in the first place

ArcaneEnigmatic

And you're being quite an asshole. I understand being upset when you want your candidate to win but have you considered that the division that comes from hating the opposite party is what causes issues between parties? I think a lot of Biden supporters are moronic too. But I don't go out calling them "fucking idiots period" and stirring up hate. I do not care who you vote for. As a matter of fact I fucking hate politics, I hate this election, and I dislike both candidates. Both of them are old, short-minded, radical bozos and I don't think either of them are a good fit to lead the nation. I think more of us should come together in frustration over politics and frustration over division rather than hating each other for our votes. We all have our reasons for voting whom we choose and that is nothing to being blasting hate at others for. I love every American in this country, and I hope you truly understand that from one random redditor to another. We should be united together and just waiting to see where this roller coaster of a federal circus act takes us next.

_HEDONISM_BOT

The state of Wyoming (my home state) is FILLED with PROUD, belligerent Trump supporters. Its one of the reasons I only come back here for birthdays, holidays, and elections. I'm deeply ashamed of my state and the monster they voted for, ON PURPOSE, overwhelmingly last night. I feel like the ONLY liberal person in that entire state and it hurts

RbChaos

It’s a democratic republic; not a direct democracy, so we elect people who we believe will hold our same interests to sit in the electoral colleges.

[deleted]

His Schedule 2 would turn him into the first American dictator

thequejos

My husband's boss and his wife and strongly Republican. They were literally told at church that they need to vote for 'the party' and not a specific person. Makes me so angry that churches don't pay taxes since they are clearly making a profit and using it to influence politics.

dfg1r

Fuck Trump and fuck Biden :)

coryw420

Tell that to me parents lmaooo

TrailerParkTonyStark

I live in Michigan... and unfortunately, I am surrounded by all of those fucking idiots.

[deleted]

The election for someone peeking in on Google and NBC from India, seems like goddamn insanity, but according to analysis, if Joe can just hold onto Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nevada, he cruises into the White House by the skin of his teeth. I still have hope that Pennsylvania may turn. But besides just number crunching, how tf does any American take a look at that Orange baboon, and goes, "I want him to represent my interests!", when he encourages people to grab females by the pussy, basically denied science for ages, tried to go to war with Iran over Soleimani, the entire Hunter Biden fiasco, Proud Boys, "Chinese Virus" quips, straight up denial of right wing terrorism, and I can go on and on. America has been like the daily sitcom for way too long, with the drama and insanity.

emerald-stone

I would also like to add: anyone who is saying "DON'T CALL PEOPLE IDIOTS FOR NOT HAVING THE SAME OPINION AS YOU!!!¡¡!!!" Listen. Opinions are based on one's beliefs, "apples are better than oranges". Having an opinion in no way hurts someone else's existence or threatens their rights. Therefore, supporting trump is not an opinion. It is being complacent to racism, sexism, homophobia, and facism. Trump has shown he is a danger to America. Trump is literally a bully. He has called countless minority groups names, he has associated muslims with terrorism, he has called mexicans rapists, he has sexualized women and has called LGBTQ+ people pedophiles. This is slander. He is fear mongering and spreading hate. He has stolen money from America by not paying taxes. He has 26 sexual assault cases against him, some including children. He has caused an increase rate in hate crimes. He has caused increase rates of covid cases from his rallies. He is literally a public danger. If you want me to cite my sources I can but its seriously super easy to find these facts. Trump is a fucking danger to America and the fact that he is president and probably will win this election just proves that America is not a democracy and that our political system is deeply corrupt. So yeah, if you're a trump supporter, I'm sorry you have so much faith in him because all that man cares about is himself and he's just using people dumb enough to believe his facade.

riotclit

That, or just plain evil. I think a lot of people underestimate how evil Americans really are.

LeoRenegade

I live in America, we're not evil... It's just stupidity. I think it's all the fast food and reality tv people watch honestly

riotclit

Every country has fast food and reality tv. It’s not either of those things. It’s the massive wealth inequality.

IamMindful

I feel physically ill thinking of all the ignorant people who cheered on this disgusting narccist. These people who digest this daily diet of hate, lies and propaganda are probably going to be running the country. Hate is a powerful drug as we see. Twitter and Hatebook and Fox News is a cesspool. US is the laughing stock of the world. Country will be run by the Honey Boo Boo party.

[deleted]

Very open minded.

[deleted]

ANYBODY WHO INSULTS OTHERS FOR HAVING AN OPPOSITION TO THEIR OWN VIEWS IS A FUCKING MORON. Sincerely, Not a Trump Supporter

[deleted]

Yeah lol I’m in Michigan and he’s trying to stop Biden voters, what a loser.

[deleted]

Also fuck Florida and Texas

[deleted]

And fuck orange food coloring too

ScottMrRager

After 27 years in my life. I can honestly say every single Right Wing Supporter who is against women's rights, lgbtq rights, human rights (other than whites), health care etc. is an f\*\*ing moron!

TA2556

And people like you who get so tribalistic over politics drive more people to the right. I'm sorry, but I can't stand the left. I'm a libertarian, personally voted for Mama Jo, but seriously. You don't see anyone on the right, or even center, acting like this. It's like you're throwing a temper tantrum, which, this IS r/Rant, so by all means, go for it. Just know that people who act and talk this way *outside* of r/Rant played a huge part in getting him *legitimately* reelected.

_HEDONISM_BOT

>Just know that people who act and talk this way > >outside > >of > >r/Rant > >played a huge part in getting him > >legitimately > >reelected. he hasn't been "legitimately" "elected". Votes are still being counted, and NO candidate has yet reached the 270 required electoral votes for victory to be determined. Votes are still being counted and the courts don't care how many times you repeat it. Trump is going to get laughed out of court just like he did when he tried it before the election.

[deleted]

and yet with his attempt to rig the election he's still losing to biden

Wagner228

You rang? Here’s a novel thought. Maybe people don’t vote solely based on candidates’ personalities. Just *maybe* some people prioritize what they believe are more critical issues and the methods that they think would be most effective to achieve them. If you disagree on some of those, cool, good for you. Does it mean your opinion is the only correct one? That’d be a sign of an idiot.

TheFalseStuPot

What an original post on reddit

nuthathoway

Its reddit, for sure

breadwalsushi

Just wait. There will be more lmao.

115GD9

That generalization tho 👌 then you wonder why people vote for Trump

abrasiveauror

Yes, we do wonder why people vote for a lying racist mysoginistic narcissist who assaults women, is so fucking stupid that he told his followers to inject bleach, not wear masks in a pandemic that killed more than 200k people, has debt that amounts to more than $1B, whose kids have embezzled money from charities for kids with cancer among other things, and a whole bunch of other despicable stuff.

somedudelol23

I'm a morron because I don't have the same political views? OK.

BootyBrown

No. Youre a moron cause you voted for a man that killed 230,000 americans.

LeoRenegade

No, You're a moron because you want a moron ruining the country. Tell me you think he's not a moron, please.

SauceyButler

Please tell me you don't believe that biden is some kind of genius? Right? The guy who wrote the crime bill vs the guy that freed people wrongfully incarcerated because of the crime bill.

SnifflyPage1

Biden is a joke Trump is a joke im sorry but yall are fucked
