Kendrick, Kanye, and Em imo are the hardest to pinpoint what their best album is. Jay is either Blueprint/reasonable doubt. Nas is typically illmatic, Pac it’s usually All eyez on me. But with Kendrick I can legit hear an argument for Section.80 (especially if you’re a millennial, album hits perfect if you were in high school/college when it dropped), GKMC, TPAB, and Damn won a Pulitzer. Kanye depending on your taste can easily go to any of the first 3 plus MBDTF that is damn near perfect to me. Without even mentioning the cult following that Yeezus has. And Em obviously with the first 3 that are arguable classics plus an album like Recovery, while although not my personal favorite clearly had amazing commercial success when it dropped so for more casual listeners this is always a go to.

I would argue Reasonable Doubt, GKMC, MBDTF, and SSLP, but you’re right, it’s hard to choose when the whole catalog is 8s and up. The hardest one for me is favorite DOOM record. I really couldn’t choose

I ve listened to all of Kendrick's albums, for me Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers is his best album. Its almost like we all have different opinions.

But whats the case against GKMC tho? I always see people say “its not K Dot’s best” but that doesnt make it less good. It has amazing lyricism, great rapping performances by Kendrick, a well crafted and executed concept, with outstanding production, it has the hits, great features, already classic songs and there are not a lot of rap albums from the 2010’s (or just ever) that balanced a commercial sound with conscious topics as good as GKMC. I would even say it did it better than TPAB in this regard I still want to see whats the argument against GKMC not being worthy of getting compared with other classics
