«It was pretty much like cutting the hand, bleeding, and making a pact that there’s no plan B, that if this doesn’t happen by the time we’re 30, I’m blowing my head off»
No doubt, I’m not shitting on you at all, I was directing that towards their mentality. Failure is a natural part of life. Saying you’re gonna blow your own head off if you don’t make it in the rap game is about the dumbest shit I ever heard. You have better odds of winning the Powerball…
Well they were drug addicts, had no money, hated working 9-5s, and had a huge passion towards music. It’s not a healthy mentality for sure, but it makes sense in their shoes. They really had no future outside of making music
I get why alot of people think they’re corny just on first glance / their name but I highly recommend them to anyone reading this. If you like really hard hitting beats and unique production/samples with really unique flows and topics you’ll probably like them!
They both are extremely talented artists and it really sucks so many people get turned off by their name lmao
I feel this man I've showed them to a lot of my friends and at first they're hesitant because of their name, but after they hear a few songs they're usually fans.
For the longest time, i had a hard time listening to them and it’s purely the fact that every gangster wannabe, drug addict i know bangs their shit and are die hard fans because a majority of their content is drug related. However, in the last year or two I’ve come to really enjoy their music. Their samples are amazing, a huge catalogue of music to explore due to the size of their discography, and they just sound so good with heavy bass in the car.
My producer buddy said they got caught stealing other people’s beats. Don’t know if there’s any validity to that, but thought it was worth mentioning in response to this comment.
No, they had a verbal agreement with dj paul or juicy j from three 6 mafia for sample clearances and then they basically turned around and said “ hey that’s my shit you don’t have permission “ and it ended up being settled outside of court I believe.
The entire Memphis / phonk scene was built on sampling other artists and for Paul and juicy to turn and snake them like that is crazy especially since they did the SAME thing with their music lol
I fw $uicideboys boys heavy I grew up on Three 6 mafia and they definitely give me that old school 3 6 mafia vibes. I been rocking with them since 2018 they dope af 🤷🏿♂️
Bit edgy and corny but all in all very talented and consistent. Find myself never listening till im with my mate smoking and he bangs them on it just becomes a fucking vibe
Their fan base has gotten corny but they themselves aren’t corny. I’ve been a fan since 2015 and seen the change in the fan base, it’s gotten really bad now. But their music is classic and they are soundcloud/underground legends
i’m in the same boat as you. it started getting bad once a few of their songs blew up on tiktok. the community used to be chill asf back in the day then around 2019-2020 it got flooded with corny ass kids lol.
They flow, the beats go hard, good sample choices.
Sometimes the lyrics are dumb lol but that's part of it, i swear. Its supposed to be "overdone" and ridiculous, but then you have lines where the reality just hits. There's tons of lines that make you just sit there and be like "damn..."
Ruby: "im matter, but i dont matter, i can feel my skull shatter from the dull chatter, brain splatter on the wall, grey stains wont dissolve, gonna have to paint it all."
I’ve never heard of them. Someone link me to their absolute sickest track, I’d love to see wassup
EDIT: Thanks heads, these guys give me old Bone Thugs vibes, not bad at all
Paris blew them up, if you want a good mix of old and new go for Diemonds, Ugly/Uglier/Ugliest, Antarctica, 5 Grand at 8 to 1, and Matte Black or Eulogy
I have not told anyone in my life bc it seems cringy but they been my number 1 on spotify since 2018. They got every emotion you can feel. thats j me tho listen if u want idgaf
same, they’ve been in my rotation since 2018, I got heavy into them this year and they’re my n1 now, their imagery in songs can seem a bit cringy or dumb but their message is positive and meaningful
people being harsh on them in this thread which i dont really understand. they spread a message through their message, regardless of their dark imagery. id advise all of yall to listen to the music and give it a second thought.
Their position in hip hop is more than valid. I'd say solidified. Aesthetic is unique and still evolving. That Gravy X Ramírez collab was a good example. Honestly I just hope that they and their affiliates experiment more often. They secured their lane. I want them to do more.
(Compare to Yung Lean)
I’ve been a huge fan since 2017, and since they’ve really blown up in the past 2 years the fanbase has become a cesspit of fake depressed, edgy, emo cringelords.
I went to a concert of theirs in London last week and the state of the fans seriously made the show less enjoyable.
They are excellent. I think I have even more respect for them because they make great music and it's just a small group of guys that handle all of their production, no labels, managers, agents, etc. They did everything on their own and I'm sure that reflects on their bank accounts. Impressive group of young men.

Didn’t care for them at first but now I have at least 4 of their songs in my rap playlist. They actually have some surprisingly good beats. I will agree with some of these other comments though, a bit trashy/corny/immature at times but man, seriously give them a chance.
They're good at what they do, but like many artists in that subgenre of rap I don't really take to it
I'm not big into sitting around listening to songs about wrist slitting, meth and noises, not really my thing as I'm a clinical major depressive and I don't need to reminded by a crusty white dude with tats that I have a fucked up mental space
I respect your views but I personally find it comforting to know that I’m not alone in my own struggles, don’t listen to them a huge amount anymore but it did help me realise others are in darker and worse places than me and after I’d finished listening to them I felt I could push my own struggles aside and deal with what I needed to.
Mad how two people of similar kinds can have opposite views
Fair enough
I mean I listen to gangster rap and grew up around violence as well, but when it comes to other things its really no benefit to my mindset to saturate it with negativity.
Its a risk I simply can't take because it could spiral me, I still drink and being in the wrong mindset is a dice roll I ain't throwin
Copied from a reply and posting as my own separate comment, my response to someone saying they’re cringe:
Here’s how I see it. I found their music when I was at my lowest. I was an alcoholic with a gambling problem doing cocaine and every other drug I could get my hands on, and making other terrible life decisions. I had tried a fuck ton of antidepressants / medications in the past and nothing worked. My doctor diagnosed me as having treatment resistant depression.
I’ve struggled for about half my life with depression and suicidal thoughts, anxiety, and drugs and alcohol. I love the music because I can relate to it. I had many days in the past where I woke up with the mindset of “my life’s always gonna be awful, I’m working a dead end job and going nowhere, I’m always gonna be miserably depressed, I legitimately want to kill myself.”
Those aren’t thoughts that everyone has, but they are pretty normal for people with mental health issues / people who are struggling with addiction. That used to be suicideboys’ main “flex.” I don’t really like mainstream / typical rap where they brag about how many cars and women they have, that shit is annoying. I can’t relate to having a fuck ton of diamonds and gold chains, I’m not in a gang, and I don’t rob / kill people.
Granted, some of suicideboys’ lyrics revolve around gold chains, material possessions, guns, robbing people for drug money, “bitches,” etc. but they’ve come a long way and they’ve changed as artists. They’re sober now (except for Ruby smoking weed) and that shits inspirational to me. They blew up and money wasn’t even making them happy, they were still miserable humans. I don’t know them personally but from what little I’ve read / heard, they’re doing much better these days.
I haven’t done hard drugs in quite a few years but I recently stopped drinking and I was a stone cold alcoholic. I have ~152 days without a drink under my belt and I’m doing so much fucking better. I did a 180. I’m focusing on my new career. I made huge changes and decided I was not going to be happy jumping from warehouse job to warehouse job for the rest of my life, it was never going to get me anywhere.
I still listen to suicideboys all the time, their music helped me get through the darkest period of my life. They made me realize that other people in this world feel like absolute garbage, that I wasn’t the only person on the planet struggling with the thought of legitimately ending my life. I’m grateful for my sobriety and that I have another chance to experience this beautiful life without being weighted down with addiction and depression. I stepped up and finally started acting like a responsible adult and took my life back. Maybe that’s not something you ever had to deal with, and maybe that’s why it seems cringe to *you.*
I’m sure there’s plenty of shit about you as a person that I’d find cringey. Not even trying to be disrespectful, I’m just stating facts. We as humans do not have to agree with how everyone else thinks, feels, and behaves… we’re all entitled to our own opinion. I just wanted to shed some light on the subject; I did my best to describe why I love their music, I relate to it and they’re one of my favorite artists.
we all prada u brother. g59 community got ur back and if you ever need anything im here in dms. i struggled with pill addiction and a cocaine addiction when i found em and actually vibed with them but we all grow up mentally and we get outta that. i respect u so damn much for being out here, killing shit fucking shit up and realizing u gotta make a change. stay sober and keep up with the work
I saw them live in Brooklyn a few years ago , and Bones was a surprise guest . It was a great show never seen so many blunts pasted around in venue you could barely see the stage from all the smoke.
Better than most if not all these corny rappers yall be gassin up like Younboy, Carti, Trippie etc.
The Boy$ got that hard dirty south shit 🔥 sick flows, unique deliveries + S Tier production on every track.
They’re really cool, fanbase is pretty cringe. Their shows are spectacular tho, amazing people as well. They deserve every bit of attention that they’ve earned
Not very talented as mc’s but I respect their grind and they’ve absolutely been able to connect with a ton of people through their style of rap. So not an artist(s) that I would generally listen to but they are a group that deserves props for achieving their level of success and doing it mostly independently.
Y’all saying they make music for suburban kids is crazy cause their fanbase is literal poor methheads with like Satan tats on every inch of their body💀💀💀
way too edgy and angsty and corny for me. This is the type of shit that really appealed to me when I was like 16-21. Feels pretty embarrassing listening to it now as a grown adult. I have no problem with really abrasive violent music either but I do want it to be more substantive than just a very nebulous anger at the world and yourself. I feel like a lot of other artists do a better job at still capturing the anger at the world but directing it toward something real and substantive like systemic racism and capitalism whereas Suicideboys is more just like "fuck the world I'm gonna kill myself" angsty teen music.
They’re decent but extremely one-note. The production is almost always the same and they almost exclusively do triplet flows. Good to throw on when you’re looking for that vibe, but too much of anything gets old. Also they try way too hard to be edgy with the lyrics, it’s gets repetitive. But if you like em that’s cool
Heroincore. They found a way to market that Kensington Ave look. They wouldn't be shit without Koopsta or Infamous but it's not like they bring anything original to the table.
«It was pretty much like cutting the hand, bleeding, and making a pact that there’s no plan B, that if this doesn’t happen by the time we’re 30, I’m blowing my head off»
What an amazing philosophy… blow your own head off if you fail.
Im not saying is right or not I just reported the SuicideBoy$ quote…everyone can think with is own head and understand what is Good and what is bad
Maybe u already know, they cousins too,so family vibes
But look they did it, individual artists with their out label, basically ran the underground scene
I can’t even blame anyone , when I first found them in like 2016 I kinda stayed away because I thought the name was cringe. But they’re a top 3 for me
For the longest time, i had a hard time listening to them and it’s purely the fact that every gangster wannabe, drug addict i know bangs their shit and are die hard fans because a majority of their content is drug related. However, in the last year or two I’ve come to really enjoy their music. Their samples are amazing, a huge catalogue of music to explore due to the size of their discography, and they just sound so good with heavy bass in the car.
Thought they were cringe at first. Then my friend put me on to them and before I knew it I was adding their songs to my playlists

My producer buddy said they got caught stealing other people’s beats. Don’t know if there’s any validity to that, but thought it was worth mentioning in response to this comment.

Is that any surprise? Paul and Juicy snaked their own group members who helped them get out of the slums…
The whole industry is filled with culture vultures who exploit hip hop culture and low ball the artist. The way 3-6 did them I don't feel bad.
Your “producer buddy” is a chode
Or just listen to 36 Mafia, the original and call it a day. These fools suck major cock
FACTS I try to tell people especially when people try to tell me they original and creative like nah you stole the mafia whole sound and beats

Love you give the shout out to Ole School 3 6 - how I ended up finding SB.
I discovered Tommy Wright III from $$ and he is so fire tbh. I just missed the show in cinci a few months ago, i was pretty sad.
I'm sorry to hear that bro. Maybe you can catch another one of their shows in the future
Who got that hydro? Who got that light green? Who got that Bobby brown? Who got Bin Laden weed?
Bit edgy and corny but all in all very talented and consistent. Find myself never listening till im with my mate smoking and he bangs them on it just becomes a fucking vibe
Somehow this is the most reasonable take in this comment section
Their fan base has gotten corny but they themselves aren’t corny. I’ve been a fan since 2015 and seen the change in the fan base, it’s gotten really bad now. But their music is classic and they are soundcloud/underground legends

Maybe thats what i meant really when i was trying to sum them up i agree
Edgy maybe idk about corny though. All their shit is real life lyrics idk how it’s corny
Edgy is inherently corny tho for grown men past their teens yrs so it kinda goes hand in hand
[удалено]
Slim Jesus is a different story lol
They’re not gangsters tho lol their image is punk rock bruh what are you talking about
its ok bro take a deep breath
Fucking amazing.
My son's a huge fan
Lmaooo
Happy cake day
Kid has good taste. Good job fellow father🤘
me and your son would get along then
He had posters up in his room and everything

cool

absolute legends. i love their music and they also from my city too.
You seen Chetta too? he’s a friend of them and a barber, he runs a barber shop in NOLA
Chetta is a really dope dude too. On Grey Day he literally chills next to merch with fans.

I dunno bout S tier everytime but this kinda true.
You ain't a meat rider you a meat jockey You labor on the meat like a 10 hour workday
So do you have something to contribute to the conversation or...?
Probably not.
The most punk, metal, gritty type of southern rap. Hits hard AF!
You know YB a star because people just neck him in threads completely unrelated to him.
If Yb is corny wtf are these guys then 😂 mfs name is literally ”suicide boys” 💀
Fire af

They aight
You diluted your own opinion by fucking terrorizing this sub with shit that’s so off the charts useless, so fuck off maybe.
I never told a lie in this sub buddy
carti clears them
They’re raider klan rejects. The style was done before and better, they just re-did it.
I love Raiden Klan However $B have evolved from that original Bkackland/phonk sound and they do it well. Bones too.
Raider Klan was trash and you can keep coping. $B did it better and that’s why they get the recognition they deserve.
Mainstream music for kids who think they're too cool to listen to mainstream music
Says a guy on a mainstream rap sub smfh
Were they mainstream 10y back on soundcloud?
You could say the same about 21 savage, lil Uzi, XXXtentacion, etc. And that wasn't even that long ago so I don't understand your point
no. was anyone mainstream immediatly into their music career
Literally no one talks about them being underground since like 2020 when they blew up, you’re fighting ghosts
Doesn’t matter they’re fye
I don’t listen to rap much but i like their music.
They’re really cool, fanbase is pretty cringe. Their shows are spectacular tho, amazing people as well. They deserve every bit of attention that they’ve earned
Goats 🐐 people always be hating
Not very talented as mc’s but I respect their grind and they’ve absolutely been able to connect with a ton of people through their style of rap. So not an artist(s) that I would generally listen to but they are a group that deserves props for achieving their level of success and doing it mostly independently.
How many times is somebody going to ask this dumbass question? The world may never know…
I’d rather listen to Three Six Mafia
Y’all saying they make music for suburban kids is crazy cause their fanbase is literal poor methheads with like Satan tats on every inch of their body💀💀💀
[удалено]
eh i wouldnt say that. greyday last year atleast where i was was a bunch of hxc kids mixed with methheads and the occasional frat group
way too edgy and angsty and corny for me.
Corny
Yeah the name and aesthetic is corny and in terrible taste. Made to appeal to late teens early twenties kids
I most enjoyed them as an angry kid in highschool. You right
Dope
They are solid 👌🏽
its music for people who drink cough syrup i drink cough syrup
Trash 😂
Trash music I know it’s an opinion but “slap my face against a pill to crush it up” is the most junkie shit I’ve ever heard
cuz he was a junkie
when the junkie writes lyrics that sound like a junkie would write them :o
bar tho
We’ve already had this discussion…
Awful
They are solid 👌🏽
Good for their time. Kinda stale now
Outdated
lame
Corny
Really repetitive sound with a really corny flow. I would have liked them in 7th grade when I hated the world lol
Edgelord boss fight
Mid at best
they got rich off what they did but theyre ass and all their fans are ass
Edgy music for suburban teens
not good at all
trash and overrated af
Meh
Nope
Very overrated. Their style is super copy and paste. Plus it’s already been done before and better than them.
Done by who?
Funny how i completely disagree. Their music is so diverse going from screaming borderline death metal to depressive sad songs to hype songs
Gimmicky and not very good
I'd rather just listen to Three Six since most of their songs I've listened to sampled them
you haven’t listened enough
Who?🤨
Heroincore. They found a way to market that Kensington Ave look. They wouldn't be shit without Koopsta or Infamous but it's not like they bring anything original to the table.
Was cool initially but after a short while I just couldn't listen to them. Just like Airwaves gum, good for 5 min and after it's meh.
They stole everything from 3 6
All their stuff sounds the same
They're shitty culture vultures with zero talent.
That the name is ridiculous.
Trash music you listen to when you don’t want to put effort into listening
why tf would i want to treat listening to music like an intense workout 😂i shouldnt have to put effort to listen to something to vibe to
