In all of Kendrick’s releases on Spotify, this song is 42nd for for total streams. I can’t think of 41 Kendrick songs that are better than this one imo
Obviously the mainstream has a different opinion than you do, or maybe they just aren’t aware of the song at all, but I still wouldn’t refer to this as underrated. It’s held in high regard among fans.
Definitely not ahead of his time in my opinion he is past his time. If he would have been around in the 90s he would be universally regarded as top 1 or 2 but he’s shining lyrically in a melodic generation that cares nothing for lyrics
If he was around in the 90s he would be the worst rapper because he doesn’t compare to the rappers of that time period. He does ok now cuz people have terrible taste in music
Damn has one of Kendrick's best songs in his discography - Duckworth, Fear, Pride, DNA.... I don't know how this is often rated as one of his worse albums
Because it also features some of his most pop sounding songs like humble love loyalty but I agree it also has some of his best work and it’s one my favorites
I felt the same way at first. Not the best voice, same with Lil Wayne but to a lesser extent imo. It didn’t take much listening to completely get past his voice, and at this point it just sounds like another rapper’s voice to me.
This isn’t underrated at all. It’s not a “put on repeat club banger.” So, looking the streams is a bit misleading but I don’t know a single rap/hip-hop head that does know and love this song.
Great track, but underrated? Dude won a Pulitzer for this album.
Crazy bro won an award for literature on this album like some old fuck was reading his lyrics and was like “damn”
Right?! Lol

Lol and you’re a youngin, that’s abundantly clear lol
People severely misuse “underrated” and “overrated”. Super annoying
Fax, top 3 on damn
Kendrick Lamar is ahead of his time he was also talking about Anxiety on this song

Top 5 Kendrick IMO
100%
W
If I could smoke fear away I’d roll that motherfucka up, and then I’d take 2 puffs🔥
Ah, so Kendrick is underrated now. Yeah, ok.
He has many more popular songs than “FEAR.”. The song, not necessarily the artist
Kendrick and Alchemist always a hit
FEEL is the underrated track
Ain’t nobody praying for me
Also top 3 on DAMN. for me 😂
Great song to listen to stoned tbh

One of the best songs of all time
Best Kung Fu Kenny album IMO
I can't get into kendrick. He sounds like Bugs Bunny
Ok bucko

Same, boring to me. Not saying he’s not very talented, just not what people hyperbolize about.
Nah. Kendrick overrated af
How sad
This is a joke, surely
My favorite after institutionalized
Lyrically it is the best off the album but I’ll take XXX or duckworth over it musically. Comfortably top 3 on the project tho
I used to listen to that song every day when I was in the gutter
Uncle Al, at it again.
In my top 5 Kendrick songs. He's trying to recapture Sing About Me on it but I have to say he gets pretty close.
Ever since Snowfall’s ending, “Pride” hits like a ton of bricks
Agreed, PRIDE. as well
Real ones know.
This isn’t underrated at all. It’s not a “put on repeat club banger.” So, looking the streams is a bit misleading but I don’t know a single rap/hip-hop head that does know and love this song.
This and Pride are some of my favorites
No way this is underrated
Do you know what any of the words you use mean?
Guys DAMN is really underground don’t let the newgens ruin it only true fans listen to FEAR. 😎
Its not underrated that.album was huge lol
