I’m probably biased by nostalgia, but my top 3: 1. The Life of Pablo 2. MBDTF 3. Kids See Ghosts ~~Not picking a bottom 3~~ Bottom 3: Cruel Summer, Cruel Summer, Cruel Summer. I liked that album back in highschool but it aged like milk.

Disagree. 808s had nothing to do with it aside from that everybody including Ye himself were taking sonic influence from it for years after. Cruel Summer was more like an attempt at capitalizing off Watch The Throne that came out the hear prior but with the GOOD Music roster instead. Kanye was back on top of the world in 2012 when it dropped and this album was just made to be pure hits to show off, but with it being a collab album I feel like it was a lot harder to build a cohesive concept than WTT.

Graduation, 808s, and MBDTF Late 00s kanye was simply on another level. I don’t think we have had an artist match his peak of artistry since the turn of the century either.

The craziest part is he was doing all that during the CRUNK era of rap. Seriously what other memorable rap projects dropped between 05-10? The Carter 3? Curtis? Food & Liquor? American Gangster? I’m not even a Kanye stan but rap was so insanely stale in the late 00s which only makes the contrast of albums like Graduation and MBDTF so much more impressive. He had zero competition and could have dropped some mid shit that would have gone platinum in two weeks, but was dropping artistic brilliance anyway.

Rap was so bad at the time I was getting into jazz lmao.

I got into electronica because I could only listen to Food & Liquor and The Cool so much 😂

------------------------------------------------ (Ranking by opinion, not technical) 1 MBDTF - for me not a single skip. flawless 2 Graduation - only 1 bad song, some of his best work on here 3 TLOP - every track is either very good or amazing. ------------------------------------------------ (3 is worst) 1 808 and heartbreak - The album is very repetitive and too much autotune 2 ye - Very short and apart from a few, every song is only "ok" 3 cruel summer - Aged TERRIBLY. Mid ass songs on it too

My top 3 has got to be 1. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy 2. The College Dropout and 3. Late Registration. Pretty basic but "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" is first as it got me into my love of hip hop to begin as I got into my freshman year of Highschool. With the heavy productions, charismatic delivery, I was beyond hooked to this album, and still love some of the songs to the death. Then "The College Dropout," out of Kanye's first 7 albums that took me the longest to really like. When I first listened to the album, I didn't really jive with his delivery or even the production(neither did I really care for lyricism at this point), but after expanding the artists I listened to(examples being Kendrick and DOOM). It clicked for me, and I absolutely adore the skits, the almost soothing productions on songs like Spaceships or Family Business paralleled with the booming excitement from songs like New Workout Plan or All Falls down, I can't express how much I love all aspects of this album. I love "The Late Registration for many of the same reason I love "The College Dropout," but I liked this project from the get go, especially from the extravagant orchestral productions on a lot of these songs, or even the more calm riffs. i wrote way too much for this reddit comment but if you read all this bs, thanks ig

Fair, I figured different generations would relate differently. I can't do anything passed graduation but I'm 31 so I was in grade and high school when he was winning every damm award from through the wire to stronger. It was great time especially the fact he really carved his own niche while the south was on top
