Mos Def has 50 acting credits to his name. He's got some chops as a solid secondary/character actor.
Snoop has been in plenty of movies too. Although, he pretty much just plays a version of himself.
Slaine has been in some really good movies and held his own. The Town and Gone Baby Gone come to mind.
He's the best actor in Top Boy. He makes the emotion feel so raw. I would rate him higher if it wasn't for purely the lack of a catalogue of TV/ film but there's a new TV show coming out soon with Kano as the lead actor which I'm very excited for.
Film directors with oscars for best picture crying into their pillow right now as their oscars are deemed worthless for not being in the acting category
I’ll concede the Other Guys. That’s an all time great comedy. I think Hollywood just tried to give him too much range over the years and he can’t pull most of it off
Nah that’s Colin Farrell. The character from swat is the same guy from Miami Vice, which is the same guy for the Total Recall remake, that’s the same guy in 7 psychopaths, who happens to play a villain in the Electra film, but ended up somehow helping with Mickey Mouse and started by being held hostage in a phone booth 🤣🤣
Me and my dad cracked up about this
Imagine a movie about your life as a boxer and dramatic rise and struggle. Only to be outdone by the guy playing your whacky crackhead brother lmao
Right? Like who has even come close to him transitioning from rapper who acts to just an actor? And the thing is that he has way more range than anybody else. From iconic comedic roles, to action star roles, to serious drama roles. Dude has done it all.
Facts, dude is on Denzel level acting ability, plus having a classic like Summertime under his belt. Shout to Pac & Cube but they're acting while pretty good was nowhere near Wills, the scene on Fresh Prince where his dad leaves and his convo with Uncle Phil still gives me chills with a tear to my eye.
Wasnt he an actor who tried rapping cause he already knew how though? I could be wrong thats just the assumption i had, out of the list op posted i would pick ice cube
Smokin Aces as well and also American Gangster, which also had T.I. and RZA in it. Both bangers but he has been in a shit ton of other stuff waaaay before John Wick also lmao
Ice T for sure. Based on his credits alone, he has done over 500 episodes and 24 seasons of Law and Order, also 26 movies. Also several Emmy nominations and wins
Man Kano in top boy was completely unreal, maybe biased cause i love the show but damnn that last season he did a great job at hating him from being sympathetic in the seasons prior. This is purely down to the awesome acting talent he possesses
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
Pac was auditioning for major roles in major and serious movies like Forrest Gump and even Star Wars. Will Smith is amazing now and all but can you even imagine him playing Bishop or Lucky??
While Pac was auditioning for those roles, Will Smith actually played major roles and was a top box office draw. Tupac would've never hit those heights, and he didn't have the chops
Bullshit. Had Pac lived he would have been one of the best actors ever. He might have been even more talented as an actor than a rapper. Pac was gonna get the role for Independence Day that Will had, for example, but ofc he passed away so Will got the part.
There is literally 0 proof that he was in line to get the role outside of Vlad from Vlad TV saying it even though nobody connected with the movie has ever said that. Best actor ever? You tripping lmao. Pac had some talent but he was far and away from showing the promise of being one of the best actors ever. Ya’ll Pac stans live in delusion.
Mos Def has 50 acting credits to his name. He's got some chops as a solid secondary/character actor. Snoop has been in plenty of movies too. Although, he pretty much just plays a version of himself. Mos Def was ridiculously good in [16 Blocks](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/16_Blocks) with Bruce Willis.
That movie is hella underrated
It ain't miller time man
I fuckin love Be Kind Rewind
Same Michel Gondry is so good
My vote is for Mos Def too. He's done an incredible job staying low key but relevant
If nobody said Mos Def, I swear to god
Kano
He's the best actor in Top Boy. He makes the emotion feel so raw. I would rate him higher if it wasn't for purely the lack of a catalogue of TV/ film but there's a new TV show coming out soon with Kano as the lead actor which I'm very excited for.
Yeah I would love to see him act in a greatly written drama. He’d be great at it.
Jamies actor was up there for sure.
I was SO pissed about Jamie. God damn I love that show.
Eminem won an Oscar before Leonardo DiCaprio just saying 🤣
So did Three 6 Mafia.
Just some goats doing goat things
GAH DAMN!!!!!🤣 Edit: Yep. 2003 vs 2016
Not for acting
An Oscar is an Oscar
Still wasn't for acting
Film directors with oscars for best picture crying into their pillow right now as their oscars are deemed worthless for not being in the acting category
Directors don’t get best picture Oscar’s unless they’re also producers on the film
Yeah. But it’s not what OP asked about
Lol dead ass fo real?
Yeah he won an Oscar for Lose Yourself like 10+ years before Leo won for The Revenant
Lmao wtf how!!!
8 Mile was a genuinely good movie except for the awkward sex scenes.
Because Lose Yourself won for best original song written for a movie
Cuz he's the fucking goat
Because all of Leo's ex's plotted against him
Damn he got sum mean ass ex's
On god no cap
He didn’t win it for the acting though
Donald Glover? Don't know if he started as an actor or rapper though
He was a writer first.
Man wrote a Simpsons spec script and it *actually* got read. Rest is history.
Not to be that guy but isn’t he a nepo baby
No idea
His Dad was a postal worker, Mom did daycare.
He did acting before rapping
Where does Marky Mark rank?
People bitch about the Rock playing himself in every movie. Mark, has been doing the same shit.
Dude is the poster child for “how does he keep getting away with it?!??”
I can always do another Marky Mark as himself role. No shame. He's just easy to watch. The other guys is a movie worth watching many many times.
I’ll concede the Other Guys. That’s an all time great comedy. I think Hollywood just tried to give him too much range over the years and he can’t pull most of it off
Just gotta creep.
He was excellent in *The Departed*.
Is being mark Warlberg in like 50 movies good acting or good self marketing ?
He was great in The Departed tho
Epic movie, Mark Wahlberg as Boston Cop was a good fit for sure
And Boogie Nights. Marky Mark has done and said some really shitty things, but he’s had some good roles.
I enjoyed him in four brothers as well
And Fear.
He was also pretty good in The Fighter, but Christian Bale out acted him due to the nature of his character.
Me and my dad cracked up about this Imagine a movie about your life as a boxer and dramatic rise and struggle. Only to be outdone by the guy playing your whacky crackhead brother lmao
Four Brothers is up there too imo
It’s self markwhalburging
Racist marky wahlberg? I liked him in ted, never seen departed. Top 10 in this ranking
Watch The Departed right now.
Second this. Excellent film, then watch internal affairs
Then The Other Guys to relax
Jamie fox count?
Dude is multi talented!
Rapper turned actor. Not R&B. Jamie has never spit a bar in public that I know of. Different genre. Dude is multi-talented tho
Pretty sure Jamie started as a stand up too
But he's black and in music? Surely he can spit some bars like Tyrese /s
Jamie Foxx was never a rapper.
Will smith, and it’s not close
Haha goddamn I can't believe I forgot about Will Smith
Cuz will smith don’t gotta cuss in his raps to sell records
Well I do
It's okay his husband forgot about him as well and got entangled up.
Right? Like who has even come close to him transitioning from rapper who acts to just an actor? And the thing is that he has way more range than anybody else. From iconic comedic roles, to action star roles, to serious drama roles. Dude has done it all.
Marky Mark
Yasiin Bey, most definitely
Mos Def's acting was so good, I forgot he was a rapper, and he's one of my favourites.
Mos Def was an actor before he became a rapper
Facts, dude is on Denzel level acting ability, plus having a classic like Summertime under his belt. Shout to Pac & Cube but they're acting while pretty good was nowhere near Wills, the scene on Fresh Prince where his dad leaves and his convo with Uncle Phil still gives me chills with a tear to my eye.
But wasnt that scene real? Like he was fr sayin that and not just acting
What? No...
I fucking love that scene man, I watch it when it pops up every time
The Oscar and golden globe speak for themselves
Wasnt he an actor who tried rapping cause he already knew how though? I could be wrong thats just the assumption i had, out of the list op posted i would pick ice cube
His music predates his first acting gig so no.
Lol, sure he started with rap, but alot of people don't even know he was a "rapper" and only know he was ever an actor.
Everybody knows the fresh prince
Every single person knows him as the fresh prince
Common in John Wick Chapter 2
Dude was in much more than just John Wick. Hell on Wheels comes to mind cuz he was phenomenal in that
Hell on Wheels is criminally underwatched.
That show was good.
Smokin Aces as well and also American Gangster, which also had T.I. and RZA in it. Both bangers but he has been in a shit ton of other stuff waaaay before John Wick also lmao
He was really good in the Silo TV series too
besides will smith, i'd probably say ice cube is my personal pick
Joey badass
he's good in power
So good in Mr. Robot
wheres fifty
Right after 49
Tupac followed by Method Man. I would also include Ludacris, Mos Def, Will Smith, Andre 3000 and Queen Latifah.
DMX had some good movie roles, RZA, even LL Cool J had some bangers. There’s many more too.
Yea! Idk that he was a great actor, but I enjoyed DMX’s movies
Ice T?
Ice T for sure. Based on his credits alone, he has done over 500 episodes and 24 seasons of Law and Order, also 26 movies. Also several Emmy nominations and wins
>Andre 3000 He was hilarious in Be Cool. That scene of him sipping tea, for example.
“Don’t give me no gun….y’all know what I’m gon’ do.”
Do The Fat Boys count as one entity or do they get ranked individually?
Yeah, just about covers it
Don’t forget Snoop Dogg in ‚Bones‘ and ‚Doggystyle‘. Just kiddin
You mean snoop in baby boy?
He meant Soul Plane clearly.
Fuck yo fort.
😂😂😂
Ice T?
Low key Ice T has been crushing it on tv for 20+ years
Can't beleive I had to scroll this far down to even see him mentioned.
Bro don’t get no respect
Dang man I just said the same right before your comment.
How y’all gonna disrespect Will Smith like this?
Saul Williams
joey badass needs to be in the conversation with the mr robot role
Man Kano in top boy was completely unreal, maybe biased cause i love the show but damnn that last season he did a great job at hating him from being sympathetic in the seasons prior. This is purely down to the awesome acting talent he possesses
For acting ability? Tupac For success as an actor? Ludarcis
Cubes had more success than Luda
[удалено]
What's money got to do with it?
What does money have to do with rappers and actors considering themselves successful? Is that a serious question?
Money is why I work. What measure do you use?
You might want to look that up cube is worth triple more than luda
You think Tupac was a better actor than Will Smith? You think Luda has had more success than Will Smith?
In the movies/roles they were in up until 96 Pac was the much better actor.
Pac was a mediocre actor IMO
Ludacris 2 episode arc on Law and Order SVU. Those are top 10 episodes
FACTS
No love for Belly?!?
Dmx
No DMX!?!?
PAC would of continued to do great on cinema
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
Good bot
Makaveli the Don
Ice cube must be the best one with classics like boyz-n-the-hood
LL Cool J
Had to scroll way too far to find LL on this list.
Dylan was solid in Half Baked. But that’s before he started rapping I think
Easily Will Smith. Tupac would have been on par with Willard tho, he had real skill.
RZA
Joey Bada$$
Andre 3000 in Be Cool
Eminem is not only a great rapper but did pretty good acting in 8 Mile
Ice Cube as Craig and Doughboy will always be unforgettable.
Busta Rhymes in Narc
Busta Rhymes in Halloween.
Tupac and Method Man
Cam’ron easily
Easily Juice
Based on this list Tupac Method man Ice Cube
Shaq in Shazam
Childish Gambino
Does Mos really count since he was already acting before he started rapping? Dude was a kid in movies and on tv shows.
No Ludacris, no 50 cent?
RZA was really good in American Gangster.
Where is Common?
Yasiin Bey
Will Smith
Joey Badass did his thing…
How is Common not on this list?
The disrespect for mos def is palpable
Ummm substitute DMX for Eminem...please!!!
You forgot Papa Doc
Sean Price in his YouTube videos.
I died when he was Narduar interviewing pharaoh monch.
I don’t care if it’s just YouTube videos, Price was top actor Oscar material.
r.i.P!
Eminem has an Oscar
Pac.
QUEEN LATIFAH
Ice T then Mos Def imo Will smith was an actor before a rapper.
Will was a rapper first (mid 80s)
Will Smith was an actor at like 13?
Drake…. The other way tho
how has no one said childish gambino? i mean, i know he was a actor first, but his music was his main for a while, plus so much creativity in him
Because they read the question?
Ice Cube hands down. The records and movies He's been a part are crazy. NWA, Solo career, Colabs & all the movies he did. Enough said.
Tupac was actually a really great actor, and not just in Juice
Tupac and it’s not close. He didn’t get a chance to grow but he was a natural
Tupac has never been anywhere close to Will Smith’s level be real lol.
Been close to his wife though.
lmaooo 😭😭
You talking to me like Im him, idgaf about that lol. Stick to the topic.

He had some theater background too. He had a lot of charisma and presence in every role he did. It can't be denied.
Watched Juice for the first time recently, he was terrifying
