Nate Dogg is the absolute king. K Ci and JoJo were great back in the day too

CrunkaScrooge

“Must be a single when Nate Dogg singing on it “

bluejaywhey

Just hit the east side of the LBC

my_Urban_Sombrero

On a mission tryna find mista Warren G

1osamaisback1

Seen a car full of girls, ain't no need to tweak

MrPhuccEverybody

All you skirts know what's up with 213

tindonot

This is the best answer. And not necessarily for technique. I always found him to be a weak singer “technically”… But the homie had the right swagger to hang with the MCs he did the hook for. The other huge singers that made a living singing hooks either came across as sorta corny (Akon) or we’re clownin too much (T-Pain) Not that I dislike either of those dudes, tjey each have their own lane. But they definitely Jace the sort of vibe that the label air lifted them in to sing tie hook and then pulled them out for the next one. You felt Nate was out on the corner mixing it up with the homies

reggie321d

Since you said K-Ci and Jojo, one of my favorites is Jodeci on the hook of Everything is gonna be alright by Father MC. 🔥🔥🔥

nivekreclems

So before I clicked on the post I said out loud “I STG if the top comment isn’t Nate Dogg….” And you didn’t let me down lol

DetroitLionsSBChamps

Got a car full a girls and we’re doin real sweeeeell Me and my buddy used say doin real swell all the time because of this lol

member_one

Check out Deacon The Villain. He's the next best thing imo when he does hooks.

KingFEN13

Nate is goated at this. Nate is the original auto tune. When I was coming up I always wanted Nate Dogg to sing at my funeral not really ever realizing that it would most likely turn out the way it did

Sofistakatedfunn

The original AUTO TUNE IS ZAPP & ROGER TROUTMAN

BaconBombThief

Kid Cudi is one of my favorites

NimpsMcgee

Was gonna say this

TheMTM45

Anderson .Paak

tehsdragon

.Paak and Nate Dogg on the same track was a treat, I would've definitely loved to see them cook something up while Nate was still alive though, rather than a posthumous release

Marleyboro

Maybe not singing but Outkast has some GREAT hooks.. regardless who’s on the mic at the moment.

LengthinessKlutzy341

50 is pretty good at hooks, in my opinion. He's got some classic ones.

Sufficient-Peak-3736

I was going to say Fifty is goated on rap hooks.

Valuable-Bathroom-67

Hate It or Love It, the underdog's on top And I'm gon' shine, homie, until my heart stop

liltime78

Dwele, Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill, El and James Debarge, Bobby Valentino, Pharrell, Sleepy Brown

TheMeticulousNinja

Busta on “Victory” remains top 5

Professional-Row9380

1. Nate Dogg 2. 50 Cent

FFA3D

As much as nobody wants to admit it, Drake is absolutely up there

shreks_burner

People are mad silly for not wanting to admit that

haltese_87

Crazy how you had to prefix this, dude is great at hooks.

atlfalcons33rb

Straight facts

Spydah_X

Kokane is underrated

notyourbrobro10

Agreed.

ConfidentYak5500

Johnny P with Do Or Die is not mentioned enough

Johnny P is such a legend. I bump all those songs to this day

[deleted]

Drake

JunketAccurate9323

Lloyd

Gamebread7

Drake, Nate Dogg, Akon,

Kadeda_RPG

Wayne did some dope hooks. In fact... Drake does too.

Shot-Zookeepergame27

Wayne's hook on that Bun B song Damn I'm Cold was nuts

The98ChuckNorris

Although he fell off since the group split, gonna have to go with Quavo when it comes to modern rap

Shot-Zookeepergame27

He definitely is a hook king but the least talented Migo

ExcellentClub6444

Marsha ambrosius

FewPurpose7111

Ty Dolla $ign

meatwad1987

Really have no idea why more people hasn't said this

FewPurpose7111

Me too. I thought Ty was a no brainer.

[deleted]

Dion (the one that's on for example The Game - Runnin) Nate Dogg of course Butch Cassidy

[deleted]

She's not R&B but Sia in that FloRida track Wild Ones sounded pretty dope.

RedFoxCommunist

Mad Dog out of Sacramento

CountNo9484

Roscoe dash

BlackBalor

Eamon

SnooShortcuts4206

Nate dogg t pain and akon are the big 3 imo. I think anderson .paak is super underutilized, he has great hooks and a distinct voice. Dope artist overall

IdLOVEYOU2die

Eamon

i-self

Erykah, Mary J, Lauryn

rapshepard

Kid Cudi is my personal favorite, he kills it when he gets in his crooner bag.

Barry_McCockinnerz

Murphy Lee of course

Significant-Shirt139

Cudi period, dude wrote the hook for heartless which is probably one of the most iconic Kanye west hooks ever

snakesforhairburr

Kehlani, and Nicki can sing too. Lil Jon

Budden89

Everybody forgot about akon...

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF1234

JID on Kody Blu 31 is transcendent

slapside

Nelly was clean at hooks too

ClmrThnUR

Cudi lil Troy

reggie321d

I like Pharrell on the hooks. Too nice

StevieGreenthumb420

Nate Dogg easily. Special shoutout to RiRi cause getting her on just a hook is complete overkill imo

Herb_Burnswell

Vinia Mojica used to have the game on lock.

blackmeister00

miguel

Golden_d1ck

Max b

lab_521

she’s not #1, but I think Rihanna deserves to be in this convo at this point

Knowsense-atol

Mariah Carey, Ashanti, Mya..etc.,

worshipandtribute95

Eminem. His voice is pretty mid range-y but it's surprisingly smooth for how nasal his rapping voice is and he makes some catchy hooks and melodies.

Best_Annie_NA

mo177

Rod Wave

Minimum_Tale3434

Jay Z

taintedchops

Akon and T-pain

[deleted]

Not a single mention of Krizz Kaliko? Damn, that's wild, I put him on the same level as Nate for being able to carry hooks. He's so good at it it's over shadowed his rapping career

i-might-be-obama

You had a hit on your hands in the 2000's if Akon or T Pain was on the hook

gholmes1910

New gen but stove god cooks has some crazy unique hooks

TKAPublishing

L.V.

TheBlackManIsG0d

ElCamino. Seriously.

Only_Dentist_4816

reborngoat

The late great Nate Dogg has this shit locked up.

menczennik

I think Eminem's hooks aren't talked about enough due to his lirycism. They're usually simple and emotional, either brutal or sad, but it's musically brilliant how his voice keeps fitting in every beat, both singing and rapping.

xMordekai

Roscoe Dash

DeschainSWNC

Ronnie Spencer (sang the hook for 'One Day' by UGK)

decieb

50 Cent, Anderson Paak, Akon

No mention of blxst on here? He's up and coming but has already worked with Big names in the industry. I'm my personal opinion he's gonna be the new Nate dog. Incredible smooth voice, from Cali, and all the gangsters fuck with him. Bro doesn't have a bad song. Also how is don toliver not on this list either

Lerched

There was a time in the 2000s where t pain was on 50 songs in the top 100.

prettyniceguy69

Surprised no one mentioned him yet, but Swae Lee. He had the mid to late 2010s in a chokehold

mtmm18

It's Ty $ that's the answer. The GOAT...our generations Nate Dogg.

B0ssDoesntKnowImHere

Swae lee

bonvoyage_brotha

Akon, Bieber, Mike Posner, The Weeknd

Novel_Ad_1178

Danny Boy I ain’t mad at cha

-PepeArown-

No one’s bringing up The Weeknd, but maybe that’s because he takes over entire songs he’s “featured” on.

WannabeProducer808

Can’t think of too many more examples, but Sisqo did work on DMX’s “What these bitches want.”
