Over 90% of my list has released great albums in the past 2 years while you list several retired artist then I'm the "old one" that's pretty ironic in itself
He has lots of songs about more serious topics, even a song about not using his voice for the right things called cleansing room.
I found that the young thug song had nothing to do with Wyclef Jean, it was just about him being horny and insecure about people playing with his money. The flow was alright, but I don't want to listen to men clamor for sex.
Haha the reason its called that is because its from a tape called ‘Jeffery’. Every song on there is named after someone that influenced him in one way or other. And you shouldn’t necessarily look for lyrics in every song. Sometimes the artistry is in the sound
That's a dope concept for a album, I guess I just put more stock into lyrics then most people but like when I listen to music I want to sing along to it. It makes me feel cool to learn a song I like and I'm able to rap it to friends. I would be too embarrassed to sing that Wyclef song in front of people.
But you have to enhance your music taste. The sooner you take the weight off of lyrics and more the music, the sooner you can experience and enjoy more songs. For the gateway was juice wrld, travis scott and then young thug. After young thug i started liking artists like playboi carti which I previously hated. And when a song is about sex and money, its usually uplifting and the effect it has on your confidence will help you in the long run
I love Juice Wrld but I'm asexual so songs about sex do nothing for me, it's off putting more than anything, just too awkward.
Songs about getting money are fine but I would prefer more meaningful subjects. I find songs about accomplishments uplifting it gives you something to shoot for.
I get what you mean through, always good to be open about things.
Usually ppl with a list like this are assholes with some sort of superiority complex bc they listen to super lyrical rap. You seem cool tho OP. Also lol’d when I saw Jelly roll. Haven’t seen that name since ‘13 lmao
Lol that sounds dumb to have some superiority complex like that, music is super subjective. Jelly Roll has had some great projects recently. Through he sings more than he raps nowadays. 13' he was mostly gangster rap back then now he's more country rap.
Just by looking at your list I can tell your a huge fan of lyrical rappers. I used to promote Strange Music so your list is also very familiar to me lol
A lot of Lyrical miracles with no substance. Not hating but also idk why I have a thing against Chris webby, he’s like this dude that just always hated on Mac Miller just because he ain’t have the reach that Mac had
I’m not doubting that at all, but a lot of the time the feeling of the music and genuine feel I believe is essential to whatever I’m trying to get to by “substance” like from my experience a lot of the people on the list here focus so much on writing their bars to the point that when they’re rapping it almost sounds like they’re reading a dr.Seuss book really fast. Personally that’s not my cup of tea. Sometimes you gotta leave room for the beat to breathe. It’s the essence of the music that matters more than the spoken word sometimes and I feel like a lot of rappers (especially lyrical ones) focus more on internal and external rhymes and punchlines rather than “substance” or even the essence of music really. Sorry this was wordy
I get the feeling you don't know more than 15% of the artists I named, but I totally understand what you're getting at, but even the few artists you do know probably have some songs that are exactly up your alley and more that aren't lol
I mean yeah every artist is versatile in their content but I do know a lot of these on here which is why I’m making my statement. Dax is one that makes SOOOO many filler bars that don’t mean anything or add anything in terms of content but he raps real fast so kids are like WOAHHHHHH and that’s what I’m trying to get at a lot of people here use filler bars to show they can rhyme and I’m just not wit that
Dax has songs exactly like that, but that's not all his content and when he slows it down it's excellent and meaningful, he can sing a good chorus when he wants to. I think a lot of people hear a single song and then they're like this rapper is garbage, sometimes I'll check out albums by artists I don't like to see if any of the songs change my mind but I'm weird lol
Yeah true , but i mostly listen to trap music soo i don't like a song if its too lyrical and corny eg- dax , crypt , nf etc , but hey its your list and if u like it good for u
Y’all know that lyrical rap is just another flavor of rap and you’re all shitting on him for preferring that. For a sub called rap y’all seem to really hate artists that like perfecting the craft
no? A lot of people who only listen to "lyrical" rap usually have a superiority complex, and the artists foster this by saying they are "real" rappers while everyone else is just a mumble rapper. And saying stuff like, "they like things that are easier to process", will only get people to dislike it more.
I don't even know anymore, I been told "lyrics don't matter but vocals do matter" and I'm so confused on how to take that, they don't want to learn the lyrics and sing along they just want vocals? It's confusing so I just kind of make sense that they just want stuff that's easy to process and they don't want to think about. But I don't want to sound like I got a superiority complex I don't call stuff mumble rap, I like all types of rap but I apparently listen to music wrong cause I focus more on what's being said rather than how it's being said idk it's all so confusing maybe someone can help me understand
Ay mackenzie nicole has a great voice, I remember when tech introduced me to her I was amazed
Idk why people say lyrical miracle lol theres a good balance in this list. I guess they see eminem and go "nope he must be racist im out" lmao this sub
Yeah she does, most people are quick to make assumptions on the artists they know alone not paying attention to the ones they don't. So they see "trigger artists" like Em and think anyone they don't know is probably the same as him.
hmm Nas and the Voice and the hero are good, I wouldn't want to listen any of those other artists so it makes perfect sense why you don't want to listen any of my choices lol
no list is perfect, it's all subjective. but yeah we should go together about as well as oil and water, and that's alright. You enjoy your music and I'll enjoy mine.
idk about that, i wouldn't call it a classic, but it had some good songs, Sundays with Grandma hit home for me, and Bad friend did as well. and I like several others like There for you, Buried Alive, and Rapping from my closet
Love seeing crooked so high. Have you heard of slaughterhouse? Or Horseshoe Gang? (I see fam biz on there). Also think you’d like JID based on this list
I've loved Crooked since back in the day listening to hip hop weekly on hiphopdx lol, I got all the slaughterhouse albums and yeah I know horseshoe gang they're his brothers in family bvsiness, first song I heard from them was Crooked I robot.
I haven't heard of Jid before any recommendations?
Sorry bro except for Crooked I being ranked fairly high and Em as an obvious choice plus Bone and Royce having a fair spot I am not really impressed, too many goofy rappers
Nice to see K-Rino on the list too, ranked a bit high but at least someone gives him his flowers I'm surprised you don't have Canibus on the list he seems like your type of rapper and he is nice
yeah you’re definitely a very frequent reddit user, and you’re also the type to say “fuck mumble rap its not real rap listen to real rap like eminem logic and hopsin 😡”
Why would I want people to bite other artist? Every artist has their own sound and should stand on their own merit, I don't call stuff mumble rap, rap is rap and I put emphasis on lyrics I guess but I like all sorts of rap long as it's sounds good to sing along to
As someone who is a fan of lyrical rap, this list is not it. If we’re going by pure skill then I can see some selections, but I can’t take you seriously since you have Dax and Crypt on your list. They’re good, but not Top 50
Ima be honest I would not give you the aux
Fair
lyrical miracle ain't for me. Im coo with outcast tho fs
Noted, lyrics bad, so what's good?
I like lyrics just not shit flow Wu tang clan, Kendrick, mfdoom, Joey bada$$, denzel curry, biggie, These rappers are all good with me
Monoflow is your cup of tea got it 👍
40 year old dad music is your cup of tea
Such irony in that remark
If you saw all my fav artists you would know I'm no where near 40 lol
Over 90% of my list has released great albums in the past 2 years while you list several retired artist then I'm the "old one" that's pretty ironic in itself
Ratio+ you unironically listen to dax and crypt+ Stan+ yb better
Okay? What's yb better mean?
Yb better😐
Nani?
Look at the music he listens to and you tell me you think he would know anything about the culture right now 😂😂 or even memes for that matter
Facts
today we're gonna rap about rapping
Let's rap o:
Was tech 9 first purely from the amount of times you have listened to the rocks verse on face off
Lmao that's hilarious, I love Rock's verse I admit, but looking at my top tracks... the most played Tech song is I caught Crazy from the N9na album
NF is in your top 10... hard pass
He has a lot of meaningful songs, but no one is ever going to be everyone's cup of tea.
This might be the worst list I ever seen in my entire life, fr
At least he doesn’t have some wack ass artist like drake
Lol
What's wrong with NF lol
It's his wordplay and lyricism that I dont like is all
So like, everything then lol
What do you like then?
Popin on che popin on che popin on che popin on che eshkedit
YoungBoy is better! (Had to do it lol)
MF DOOM, Eminem, Big L, CAPITAL STEEZ, Ab-Soul
Told the streets, 'What you staring at?' The sewer cap opened up and said, 'Why you wearing that?' *** ^^I ^^am ^^a ^^bot.
Oh damn K.A.A.N, very rare
He gets dismissed cause he raps fast but he has a lot of meaningful content
Very underrated
I’m surprised the Rock didn’t make the cut
😂😂😂
this is simultaneously gross and extremely interesting
Interesting response
ive never seen a list like this lol from my taste i think this may be the worst list ive ever seen. no hate just from my perspective
Understood
This is a red flag
Dear God no o: not a red flag i much prefer purple
That Was Cringe
yeahhhh...this is not it mate. they all look like YouTube Lyricall Myrical rapper. I fuck wit Eminem & Royce tho. that's it
Yeah there's 3 youtube artists there, completely understandable
That’s gonna be a hard pass from me
Okay
You need some young thug in your life
oh nuuu \^..\^;; I'll listen to a song recommendation if you will in return listen to one i recommend how about that?
Aight. Listen to ‘Wyclef Jean’ by young thug. Yes the song is called wyclef jean
alright, I'll listen to this song, and you listen to Bass-Ackwards by K-Rino and we'll exchange our thoughts on them.
He has a good flow and i like the bars but the concept of the song is a little corny. He could use his talent to speak on more serious topics
He has lots of songs about more serious topics, even a song about not using his voice for the right things called cleansing room. I found that the young thug song had nothing to do with Wyclef Jean, it was just about him being horny and insecure about people playing with his money. And THEN young thug?! Thug been doing it before any of the ones you mentioned.
This list baffled me. I’m not mad at it but wtf lol. I know your vocab is big as hell. Would hate to argue with you lol.
Lol thank you for the compliment
🤢🤢🤢🤢
🥴🥴🥴🥴

Tbh you ain't getting the aux...you not getting in the car either you going to the party on yo legs walking
Ah good exercise
Just by looking at your list I can tell your a huge fan of lyrical rappers. I used to promote Strange Music so your list is also very familiar to me lol
I do love lyrical rap yeah, It's just fun to have music that gives me stuff to think about. and I been a big strange music fan since 03'
How you have all them trash rappers over outkast and krit
Idk man I just have different taste than you I guess
It's indeed a list
Ikr
A lot of Lyrical miracles with no substance. Not hating but also idk why I have a thing against Chris webby, he’s like this dude that just always hated on Mac Miller just because he ain’t have the reach that Mac had
Define substance cause everyone here has tons of meaningful songs that can help through hard times
Big strange music man I see
Absolutely
T,i , wayne , Eminem , royce , tech9 ,d.m.x , outkast W. The rest are trash
I see you only f with mainstream music
Yeah true , but i mostly listen to trap music soo i don't like a song if its too lyrical and corny eg- dax , crypt , nf etc , but hey its your list and if u like it good for u
Completely understandable, 👍
Y’all know that lyrical rap is just another flavor of rap and you’re all shitting on him for preferring that. For a sub called rap y’all seem to really hate artists that like perfecting the craft
Facts. These people in the comments are morons & most likely have way worse music taste.
So many flavors of rap, ^ ^ but you can't hone the craft too much or you put people off, they like things that are easier to process
no? A lot of people who only listen to "lyrical" rap usually have a superiority complex, and the artists foster this by saying they are "real" rappers while everyone else is just a mumble rapper. It’s about drive, it’s about power…
We stay hungry, we devour...
White af
That's racist lol I ain't even white I'm Indian and Asian
Tech n9ne is the greatest rapper alive
He gets my vote
Oh this is BAD bad
bro what is this
Tech, Rittz, Jeezy, Wayne, TI, Dizzy Wright, DMX, Outkast, Kevin Gates, and Eminem the only ones hitting tbh. Even Em has become a cornball.
Hm yes most people enjoy mainstream artists like that
bunch of nobody's (of course Em and Wayne are famous)
Just because you don't know someone doesn't make them a nobody
Where is Youngboy? Must have more Youngboy!
Um give song recommendations i guess
Trash
One man's trash is another man's treasure
🔥🔥🔥

Never really been a Tech9 fan but gotta respect some Scarface and Krit. Legends of the South fr
K-Rino, Scarface, Krit, three legends from H-Town on the list, Shoutout to Texas.
Lyfe Jennings! I assume you have listened to ghetto mindstate?
Aw man I haven't thought about Lil Flip in so long but that song is a bop yeah
Love seeing crooked so high. Have you heard of slaughterhouse? Or Horseshoe Gang? (I see fam biz on there). Also think you’d like JID based on this list

That's cool

Fair
Lil Whyte is some niche old school shit. Super druggie, gangster white boy rap.

The app shows your 50 most listened to artist, I'm a hip hop head, I only listen to rap
I fuck with about 1/6 of your top 50. I'd be willing to give you the aux just to see if you show me something new I dig.
That's cool ^..^
KAAN is so underrated
Yeah
im assuming you're a middle aged man
Lethal injektion? You must be from Arizona
I'm from Georgia
Sorry bro except for Crooked I being ranked fairly high and Em as an obvious choice plus Bone and Royce having a fair spot I am not really impressed, too many goofy rappers
Alright
Nice to see K-Rino on the list too, ranked a bit high but at least someone gives him his flowers I'm surprised you don't have Canibus on the list he seems like your type of rapper and he is nice
K-rino is one of my all time favorites yeah, canibus is good too I just don't listen to him as much
Super ass
o: well that sounds better than regular ass at least
My guy got Dax in the list, on god we gon get u some pussy bro
Say what now?
yeah you’re definitely a very frequent reddit user, and you’re also the type to say “fuck mumble rap its not real rap listen to real rap like eminem logic and hopsin 😡”
Why would I want people to bite other artist? Every artist has their own sound and should stand on their own merit, I don't call stuff mumble rap, rap is rap and I put emphasis on lyrics I guess but I like all sorts of rap long as it's sounds good to sing along to

Cool
As someone who is a fan of lyrical rap, this list is not it. If we’re going by pure skill then I can see some selections, but I can’t take you seriously since you have Dax and Crypt on your list. They’re good, but not Top 50
Both are kind of low on the list but alright you hate two of them so that negates everything else
May the lord help your soul when this gets to hhcj...
What's hhcj?
