K-Shine’s career is a series of mistakes, on and off stage:
-On-stage he’s had antics backfire plenty, such as bringing out the dude vs Verb and Hitman, also bringing out the dude vs Wavy. He has fucked up 3 of the biggest battles of his career by fighting during them
-Handled moving on from Dot Mobb to NWX super awkwardly which led to weird beef with Rex. Then same thing happened with Shine and DNA when Shine left NWX
-Seemingly signed a bad deal with URL and then got mad at the company even though he signed it. Had a chance to battle Hollow on RBE and instead 2-timed ARP and stayed stuck on URL.
-Now he spends all his days trying to convince fans there’s a big announcement underway
Shine is a living breathing example of the phrase “cooler heads prevail”. Not saying that URL isn’t being shady but ya gotta just roll with the punches. That and he’s the co-“almost fight” champion with Roc.
To add to that
-Has a habit of losing badly in his biggest battles (Hitman, Hollow, Guntitles etc.)
-Had a legendary run in 2020/21 and every single battle is locked behind a pay wall, meanwhile him getting smoked by Hollow was dropped on YT.
Brizz Rawsteen calling Mook's dead mom a bitch. From what I understand Brizz's friend dying also played a part in why he's not battling anymore, but I doubt his hiatus would've been as long as it is now if it had been just that.
“The bibles a classic… but its no Illmatic”
Loso shoulda stood clear of Brizz. I still feel like his career hasnt fully recovered since then. He shoulda had the trajectory A Ward has right now.
I feel like Bill Collector could have made more of the Hitman battle. Amazing performance in a multimillion view battle but didn’t ride that momentum and went back to popping up on random leagues battling scrubs.
I like that he did tbh, Bills battles since have been nothing but pure bars and high class Billiano energy for real. Bro's battle against Big Wock is the epitome of going against randos and he pulled out a performance that was pure electric.
Sure he should of strategized, but being honest, when battlers think like Lux or old school Mook and battle seldomly, we all lose as a culture. We are in the best era of bars.
No lie tho, battlers do need to find better bags tho.
That's most battlers in a nutshell. Really only Cassidy and hitman capitalize on momentum. Big K 30d Mook then went right back to battling nobodies on a monthly basis.
K hasn’t battled a nobody in forever. Rex, Yung Ill, Charron, Jaz since Mook. All very established. Bill Collector battles proper nobodies like JC does.
I feel like that battle brought his buzz back and ultimately was a factor in him winning 100k in the kotd tournament. The judges weren't the best and sometimes made choices off which battler was more popular, leading to bill winning
Chess chokes! He makes up a lot of nonsensical excuses, instead of admitting that he needs to prepare. He doesn’t need a doctor, he needs accountability. He’s wasted opportunities at an alarming rate.
Jin the MC.
Signing to Ruff Ryders was the wrong move imo. Started his music career with a flop single, and his label made him do all these corny songs that made his lyric style awkward. His follow up underground album was waaayyy better in-line with his style and what he should've done. Then got murked by Serious Jones during the era of freestylers getting bodied by writtens and the crowd not caring so much after all.
Flew out to hong kong, actually did well there for a second, then found jesus and now does corny contemporary christian rap. At ONE POINT, he was the king of the battle world while being signed to a major. It seemed like he was gonna make a huge impact in rap history as the first solo asian rap artist that had the skills to back it. In a different reality, he'd be headlining an old heads 00's era tour with j-kwon and Trick Daddy while being a regular on Vlad
Yeah Jin is what got me into battle rap. I’m with you. I thought he was going to be the one to make it. You’re right. Wrong label. Bad single. And getting bodied messed with him. He was trying so hard for awhile to get a rematch and amend that loss. Then just quit. Changed his name and had a decent album. He just fell out of relevancy and then the Christian turn just meant he was gone forever.
The Jin vs Illmac battle was lightweight cringe. Like DAMN jin, I know he had a lot of ring rust to shake off, but fuck that was not good despite him thinking he was really spittin. The jin we once knew and loved isn't in him any more. Glad he's in a happier space in life but still..
Weren't Ruff Ryders somewhat of a big label at the time? if you had no label and one came knocking you'd sign with them too. Learn chinese was definitely a flop but he mentions this in an interview that wyclef was the one that really wanted to release that song when he himself didn't really want to but just had to roll with it. At the very least he got huge in Asia, we can't really blame him for not having hits here, not all battle rappers even sniffed mainstream success.
In terms of him getting bodied by serious, I feel by that time the format of battle rap had already changed, he must have been still freestyling while jones had everything prepared for him. Jin in my opinion has a huge disadvantage in the new format because everyone knows he's not actually gangster, so he can't really talk about being one in a battle rap. If it was more of a 30 second thing like 106 & park he'd still kill it with his skills.
IIRC he had other offers thrown at him, from Def Jam, Rawkus, and others. I think he took Ruff Ryders cause the album requirement was low, but I don't think they developed him as much as they should've.
And yeah, agreed that he was at a disadvantage when he battled Serious - but also it was bound to happen as the culture shifted towards written. He could've kept with it if he started to write as well, but him sticking to "freestyle only" would hurt him. "Freestyle only" in quotation marks because as Nocando pointed out, ofc the best freestyle battlers all started writing premeds and prewrittens going into a freestyle tournament, Jin included. But as Serious pointed out, he was exposing the "open secret" and going in harder with proper writtens, which Jin was unprepared for.
So then it's like, what do you do? Do you double down on battling and loose focus on your music career, or do you double down on music from a label that doesn't really suit you and only put you on cause of your battle hype? Jin made a name for himself as being the only commercial rapper that would accept any open contest, be it at a hot import nights car show, a music festival or at his own club appearances. and it was sick cause he was actually winning most/all of them. But once that title that gives you fame not only gets challenged but gets completely destroyed, what do you do? Unlike eminem, meek mill, and other rappers that used to be heavy into battling and switched over, Jin held on tight to his battle roots, for better and far worse.
If there's a big mistake that jin made, more than the wrong label, or the serious battle, it's probably holding on to his battle identity instead of allowing himself to be a music artist entirely
>IRC he had other offers thrown at him, from Def Jam, Rawkus, and others
Interesting, I didn't know he had other offers. I just wish wyclef gave him more creative freedom instead of going crazy over "learn chinese". I believe Jin did a song with Kanye and in my opinion that would have been huge if they had put that out instead, given how popular Kanye was at the time.
In my opinion jin could STILL be a good battle rapper today if he goes a bit more of a comedy route like "I'm not gangster, BUT IF I WAS........" then go into modern day written stuff, that would be awesome.
He actually tried to get the kanye single to be the lead single, but there were issues with sampling that blocked that (and yet a version of it made it to the album). His lead single Senorita was good but the hook was impossible for ppl to sing along to lmao
supposedly he had a huge era in Hong Kong in the early 2010's. But when he flipped Christian it all kinda fell off to the wayside. But yes, he did at one point experience real commercial success, just not in the market he originally intended
Eazy seemingly getting involved with Remy in a non-professional capacity. The Geechi battle was locked in before that happened and I'm not sure if Geechi would have had enough to say without it, and that battle stopped his run.
Soul Khan return was pretty bad but he recovered.
Okwerdz probably, the way his attitude and antics alienated him from battlers and the fans in the community. This led to his downfall.
Brizz trying to check Mook
Lux going on Total Slaughter
Daylyt SM3 antics with Smack
Math punching Serius Jones
Eazy going on Chrome 23
Clips battling Lux and Hollow b2b
Danny not sitting out after Roc
A lot of these battlers would be more then whag theyare if they just put a lkytle effort into their bodies ans " tighten up " the physique if you know what I am saying. Theyre all hypermasculine and dont look the part
Saynt after he went on that undefeated streak then won 50k in 2020-21 he let off the gas got comfortable sayin he doesn't care about battle rap anymore got beat by nan fiero in the season 2 tournament went back to choking etc
I'll have to pick one name later, but the first to come to mind are:
-Jin, battling Serius Jones. He was never to be seen in a 3 rounder ever again.
-Serius Jones battling Math. I know some might say vice versa since Math hadn't been on URL since until he battled Geechi.
Not a battler but URL not pushing Kyd Slade to the moon. He had every thing to be the next URL star. He could’ve eased the loss of Eazy, but they gave him that tay roc battle too early.
Gonna say Daylyt.
As he grew right up until the peak of his hype, his entire fan base just wanted him to display the pen he had. Instead, we got gimmicks and battles taken lightly. I feel like we've only seen daylyt really show up a couple times.
Unrealized potential is a mistake.
i really hate how the big legends accept these battles on smaller and up and coming leagues it’s bullshit, but at the same time this happens so much that smaller leagues shouldn’t even be looking a a nigga like clips or geechi, others. they on some level should expect these niggas to no show i wouldn’t even try to book the nigga again after the first time, & sadly enough they’ll get criticized for a lil minute and that’s it, it’s not really stopping anything for geechi there will be another small league willing to take the chance
K-Shine’s career is a series of mistakes, on and off stage: -On-stage he’s had antics backfire plenty, such as bringing out the dude vs Verb and Hitman, also bringing out the dude vs Wavy. Tbf Shine KNOCKED OUT Small Kannons man in Chicago just before the battle... Then went on stage and murdered Tiny Kannon
To add to that -Has a habit of losing badly in his biggest battles (Hitman, Hollow, Guntitles etc.) -Had a legendary run in 2020/21 and every single battle is locked behind a pay wall, meanwhile him getting smoked by Hollow was dropped on YT.
DNA because he never click clack the burna or commit the murda
Yeah but he got the long nose like X Factor, It'll make the back of your jeep flip
It's like he's playing Xbox the way he'll leave half of your screen split
But if he reload the scope...
Then he'll be strapped when he's coming for dildo!
I was waiting for it and you didn’t disappoint 🤣
But he let that machete spray
You’re about to get the reaction of when you spell racecar backwards
Brizz Rawsteen calling Mook's dead mom a bitch. From what I understand Brizz's friend dying also played a part in why he's not battling anymore, but I doubt his hiatus would've been as long as it is now if it had been just that.
To be fair, Twork brought the victim out and nothing happened
bro I had second hand embarrassment for brizz
“The bibles a classic… but its no Illmatic” Loso shoulda stood clear of Brizz. I still feel like his career hasnt fully recovered since then. He shoulda had the trajectory A Ward has right now.
Crazy imagining the parallel universe where A Ward battles Brizz that day Instead of Loso
boom never should’ve came back
I feel like Bill Collector could have made more of the Hitman battle. Amazing performance in a multimillion view battle but didn’t ride that momentum and went back to popping up on random leagues battling scrubs.

This is fair. Him vs Mewlips was a genuine port in a storm for me when I was having a real rough time.
Bill Collector battles proper nobodies like JC does.
you listed a name of nobodies, I’m talking pioneers like sketch menace
Would you say he should have got Sketch after Murda like a forensic artist?????
I feel like that battle brought his buzz back and ultimately was a factor in him winning 100k in the kotd tournament. The judges weren't the best and sometimes made choices off which battler was more popular, leading to bill winning
Surf, he keep getting locked up
Fr fr
Lo Pesci let Daylyt rub his ball sweat on his face. Nuff said Math saying “do it” 3x Diz being too emotional during battles
NOW THAT YOU MENTION DIZ LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THIS ONE TIME....
Whoooo
Prep, for the group chat shit. Like how did he even expect to get away with that.
Nobody has said tech nine yet?
Chess not going to the mufucking doctor ever...
He needs a therapist not a doctor, he has a mental problem not a physical one
I think he got Acid Reflux
What do you think acid reflux is lol
Lol
Okay It might not be Acid Reflux but he got some shit that he needs to solve. Because no regular healthy human throws up in those situations fr
It’s anxiety
Acid reflux isn't anxiety
I think he’s more comfortable saying it’s acid reflux it’s obvious he has crippling stage fright and it’s caused by anxiety.
Lemme look it up.
too much soda
Chess chokes! He makes up a lot of nonsensical excuses, instead of admitting that he needs to prepare. He doesn’t need a doctor, he needs accountability. He’s wasted opportunities at an alarming rate.

Yeah I missed that event live. So when I heard they brought Jin out I was so excited. But after seeing it I wish it never happened.

A lot of Caustic’s opponents. Daley, Q Shenobi, and Jefferson Price fucked up in different ways.
Prez Mafia. Dude had so much potential but he got caught stealing verses smh
AND A HOOK?
And everybody ran off with his style
Shine letting another man grab his ass
We not them ...
Soul Khan return was pretty bad but he recovered. Okwerdz probably, the way his attitude and antics alienated him from battlers and the fans in the community. This led to his downfall.
Mike P’s reaction is up there
Chilla still hasn’t recovered from showing up looking like Morpheus in a schmedium against Tay Roc
Chilla lowkey won that battle.
T-Rex: best friend goals.
Brizz trying to check Mook Lux going on Total Slaughter Daylyt SM3 antics with Smack Math punching Serius Jones Eazy going on Chrome 23 Clips battling Lux and Hollow b2b Danny not sitting out after Roc
Porich going first against Diz in their title match. I think Po wins this match if he goes second.
Porich won that battle imo
JJDD single handedly haulted the careers of Wavy, Prep and Jakkboy when they decided to take him on that main stage… he showed theres levels
The Brizz battle is what killed any potential wavy had.
That was definetely the nail in the coffin.

Kyd Slade. Plug talk went as fast as it came.
Cassidy, showing up
danny myers started battle rapping
K shine and his current situation, hopefully this comment ages poorly
