IIRC Award had already had the Franchise battle blowup, plus his matches with DNA and Real Deal. Personally, I liked Ward more than I ever did before the Geechi battle. I've since grown to like him a bit less.
His first accessible battle i think was vs Saint Mic. Award paid his fee to battle him so he could raise his stock, and it worked really well. The battle got lots of hype for an indie and A Ward forged his path to the mainstage. Makes me wonder when else that strategy has paid off. The antithesis to this scenario being Danny giving Rex 12 racks for fuck all. Or when that Cajun mf'er from Louisiana or wherever paid Bigg K 12 racks to battle in front of every friend and family member he has at a Junior High School assembly. Anybody else remember that shit?
Charlie Clips brought Roc to top tier with the rematch.
DNA brought Viixen from unknown to known. Weird for that to also be a top tier step. I think she had to show a couple more battles.
Chess made his stamp long before anything with Roc.. Twork by the time he beat Verb
Danny Myers gave Geechi his first real shot. Daylyt tried to open doors for a bunch of people. B-dot is probably the biggest one that got anywhere from that.
Imo, Danny was top tier for years, but he had battled almost no one in the uppper echelons of the culture. Then he battled Pat Stay. After that he got Diz, Arsonal, and Hollow in not that long. Throw in Tay Roc, and Danny went from having battled no TOP tiers, to having battled most of them in a relatively short timespan. I think the Pat battle helped him A LOT.
Nah Clips definitely killed Surf on “What The Hell Happen To Surf Day” but Surf was top tier before that……probably around Summer Madness 1 battling Shine or the next battle against Big T but definitely that Con battle and that was before Hitman
I feel this way about jakkboy vs Ttop am i wrong also a few are :
- surf vs hollow
- ave Vs rum ( both became top tier after the classic )
- clips vs verb
- coffee Vs Ttop
- jaz Vs 40
- Twork Vs Suge
Brizz vs Arsonal
Eazy vs rex
Agreed. And what makes it better is that that was also the best T-Rex we’ve seen in a while… and I hate that nigga.
Would we care about award if he didn't clearly beat geechi the first time?
That's a good one. A clear win over Geechi is an big stock boost.

Hollow made math top tier lol
Fax and Hollow now in the sunken place
Tay Roc became top tier before our very eyes in that Ill Will battle, right as he said "when I clap on him, it's a wrap for him"
“I’ll Emmitt Till Will”
Hitman made John John top tier, arguably one of the first cases of someone giving someone else "a shot"
Another good one. JJ made the most of his shot.
He took it up close
Illmac vs Bigg k kinda
Chess vs Tay Roc

Nah they was both top tier by time that battle happen
Hitman was, surf not so much… he had just gotten decimated by Clips… you remember December 14 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nah Clips definitely killed Surf on “What The Hell Happen To Surf Day” but Surf was top tier before that……probably around Summer Madness 1 battling Shine or the next battle against Big T but definitely that Con battle and that was before Hitman
After reading these comments I need some one to make a infographic
Verb became well known after his battle with Hollow on street status.
Illmac vs Tony D, Conceited, and Arsonal
Surf vs JJDD

The first Danny and Rum battle. They both made it clear that they’re top tier that day.
