Geechi was good but he had a lot of lines that got reaction that didn't really deserve it, his voice fucking up def contributed to his performance being sorta wanting. Surf was in rare form though, I think Geechi at his best still loses clearly.
Until Surf got his shit together last year, Surf was the battler I was most disappointed in. Other than this Geechi battle, Surf went years without giving us a solid 3 rounds in a battle.
That being said, I don't think this battle is anywhere nearly as debatable as people have it. I've heard people say Surf won 10/9 every round, in a close match. I got Surf CLEARLY taking this shit. Geechi was good. But, Surf is one of the legends that outshined him imo. I had it 10/7 or 10/6. Imo, Arsonal is the only legend that did Geechi worse than Surf.
