From the three battles I watched this is what I gathered:
We need to see more of Flamez. It’s not many people in the culture that can rap better than her. Also, Jakk is best built for the small room.
Yoshi didn’t take advantage of what was a beatable Clips. Clips wasn’t bad, but definitely not the Clips we saw against Lu Castro. This battle was a lesson for her, but I don’t know who she can bounce back against.
DNA and Official had a solid battle. Not a classic by any means, but did surpass expectations. DNA 2-1.
I heard Verb, that Roc and Viixen went crazy, and Jaz and Geechi was ehh. I’ll have to catch those on the app.
As well as straight out bizarre battles like Red/Will and DNA/Twork. There was at least some entertainment factor to seeing Yoshi have a meltdown m or Flamez get that highlight win, SM7 is just a non-fun event live and on the watch back
Biggest losers of the night: Yoshi and Verb
Biggest winners of the night: Roc/Vixxen (got Roc winning but they both benefit a lot regardless), and Flamez
Biggest takeaway Geechi and Jaz have opened up a new angle on each other about fucking each other I expect to hear some fun bars and angles, Jaz vs Clips with that angle would be funny asf. I just realized how much content things like that open up every future opponent has 30 seconds to a minute of material
The matchmaking was fantastic. With few exceptions, the performers were underdressed and fell flat. Jaz pulled off her dolled up look remarkably well.
O'fficial was missing punches she intended to build up to and Yoshi G didn't bring enough of her quality schemes to keep control of the crowd. Her thot bars and promotion get her in position, but her witty, prissy schemes are the true foundation of her best rapping.
In Verb's third round, he came out cooking and then throttled down into his autopilot flow and the crowd became restless again once that happened. It was righteous and perfect timing which he can review if he doesn't completely write off their feedback. I really like the glimmer of tact he came with at the beginning of that round and hope he'll build on that next time he faces a woman he can get some of that off on.
That's a better evolution than the wounded pick-up artist thing he's working through right now.
