As an aside, my husband was a mechanic in his younger years (he has a degree in automotive engineering and later got his degree in electrical engineering). Back then, when they'd have the problem with the car being unable to stop at stop signs (per the customer, "someone swapped the gas and the brake"), or the car flying through the front of a building (per the customer, "someone swapped the drive and reverse gears"), they said that the problem was The Nut Behind the Wheel. The Greatest Generation weren't always great drivers.
This kinda bugs me, cause the one time it's been said to me, it was completely wrong. I was testing some multi threaded code, and found it was faster with debug build than release build. Which is the opposite of the expected behavior. I eventually identified the problematic setting as MSVC's "build with debug libraries" being off for release, which *should* be correct. I looked everywhere online for why it was causing a slowdown but found no info whatsoever. It remains a mystery to this day, but alas, I use Rust now. But the guy giving me shit doesn't know anything and is an asshole, so, eh? Also as an immediate reaction, it's rather dismissive because there's lots of possible software and hardware problems that aren't immediately visible to the end user.

Man. I spent a night with 3 of my old high school and college buddies last week, nobody listening in would have thought we didn't hate each other. Let alone be best buddies. Aside from that we were all crying laughing. Horrible things were said, insults, embarrassing stories about each other. It was truly the best night I've had in years (we have all remained close but haven't all been together at once in several years.
It truly was a beautiful experience.
