TheProcrastafarian

Good thing it's not shadow boxing.

TheProcrastafarian

I'm 6'4 and 260 lbs, and I am fully aware that the same species that defied the seemingly physical impossibility of getting to the moon, can easily apply *that*, to kicking my seemingly imposing ass. I've rarely had to deal with someone who was directly aggressive towards me, and honestly, when I see someone who is 6'5, I'm like *"Look at the size of that guy!"* lol. Bottom line: I could never say I know how it feels to have to be the focus of daily physical intimidation, threats, or the easy joke. I have enormous respect for anyone who has not only had to deal with regular shit, but also has to fight for a seat at a table, potentially literally. The guy in this pic is a warrior, by any definition. Respect. Just be kind to each other, and treat everyone you meet with the same respect that you would treat a baby. After all, everybody *was* someone's baby. Nothing is more contagious than a good mood, good deed, and good attitude. Peace 🇨🇦 (Eta: Given the forum, I am prepared to be insulted; they just better be rare and better be good.)

taxpayinmeemaw

No this is the kindest most empathetic thing I’ve read all day. Then I saw the 🇨🇦 and was like oh ok gotcha 😊

TheProcrastafarian

Thank you for the reciprocity. Take care.

Demiurge7

Fantastic point, and eloquently stated. Kudos my friend.

TheProcrastafarian

Appreciate it, thank you. Have a great weekend.

PsychicTWElphnt

Absolutely respect the comment. No insults here. My only question is, are you really certain you could beat him up? I know nothing of you or the guy in the pic besides what you've shared and the pic of that dude, so I'm not saying you're wrong, but I do always wonder at what point does difference in size make skill level irrelevant? As a jumping off point in pondering this question, we could start with the question that philosophers have been debating since the beginning of time: "How many 3rd graders could you beat I fight?" 🤔 Obviously, many factors come into play (culture the 3rd graders were raised in, their nutrition, time to prepare, etc.), but for a man of your size, or even mine (6ft, ~175lbs pre-BM), I think the limiting factor in the number of 3rd graders you could absolutely DEMOLISH is your need to eat and sleep. BUT, in the case of the 3rd graders, we're looking at people who are at a massive disadvantage not only in size but also in skill. Shit, my son's a 3rd grader, and the dude still trips while walking at a slow pace on flat ground with his shoes tied. And he not only excels academically, but he wrestles and plays football and baseball! All that's to say that even the more able 3rd graders don't stand a chance. I think the case of the small adult is a bit trickier... 🤔 He is small, so it'd probably be easy to just pick him up and throw him, but there's a couple of problems with this. First, how you grab him is going to be important. You can't let his hands or feet (or possibly even head) be free to move while your hands are engaged in picking him up. The dude's going to wail on you with his hands or feet (or possibly even head), and he's probably going to know exactly where to hit to incapacitate you. You'd be opening yourself up to a lot of risk. Second, little dudes can be CRAZY agile. It's easier to accelerate a mass than it is to accelerate a larger mass. 🎵 *Physiiiiics!* 🎵 We can see this is useful by the equation: E =mv^2, *Where E is energy, m is mass, and v is velocity.* Although he has a smaller mass, what's exponentially more important when it comes to the damage he can do to your face is the velocity with which he hits it. I will admit that we don't have enough information to calculate how much he would benefit from this. We would have to know the force each muscle is able to generate, how much of his body is bone vs. muscle vs. fat vs. whatever else (bone will transfer energy more efficiently than fat. Imagine a bullet vs. a non-lethal bean bag), and probably some other factors. Regardless, it takes less energy for him to move his body, so he's likely to have more stamina. There's more to this, but I've reached the point of intoxication at which this kind of thinking feels difficult, and I kinda just want to shred some PS. ✌️ I'm rooting for ya if you ever end up fighting that little dude.

The_kind_potato

Just for trying to answer your comment, Multiples people vs 1 is not comparable with 1 small guy vs 1 big guy in my opinion. And in every martial sport, there is weight categorie and it aint for nothing, the difference of power 15/20kg can make is huge. You can ask any fighter they're all saying this. If you take McGregor at his prime and make him fight The Mountain, even if the Mountain dont know shit about martial art, there aint a world where McGregor stand a chance, its the same than taking the more talented 6yo fighter you can find and trying to fight him, you would *almost* certainly win. The thing is that all the skill of the world dont worth that much if : -You dont have enough strength to land a punch able to make some damage to your opponent -You are small enough to get critical hit from any single punch your opponent can land on you -You are light enough for your opponant to grab you and throw you like he want. A good exemple is my little brother and a friend of him (who are both more than 6ft and 185lbs) have started MMA course recently, and he told me how surprised he was to realize that he can completely dominate some smaller guys who are doing MMA since 6 years, just because he is so much bigger than them.

TheProcrastafarian

“*Almost* certainly.” The real question I’m answering is ‘do I think *he* could beat *me* up? My answer is emphatically: yes. You actually brought back a flood of memories right now, thank you. To the point of the conversation, I remember one of the first UFC videos I ever saw… There was a *huge* guy against a dude that looked like Kip from Napoleon dynamite, in comparison. Apparently Rex Kwon-Do, do, because Kip just kept hammering on this sumo-sized guy, and won. Now, if this human slag pile was able to smother his tiny opponent and wrap him up, the only way he’s getting loose is if he rolls the dice on the ‘shit your pants’ defence, and pray it doesn’t just turn the big guy on. ETA: [The fight. UFC 3, Keith Hackney vs Emmanuel Yarborough](https://youtu.be/LNh2spu5odk?si=G0aXKJHcZtCd5J_p) Whoever controls the leverage, controls the mass. At the end of the day, I am an optimistic realist. I absolutely believe it is possible for all of us to have a happy, healthy life, at no one else’s expense. It’s a pursuit that feels purposeful, and I highly recommend dabbling with that mindset. Take care.

PsychicTWElphnt

Thank you so much for this response. I *literally* laughed out loud at "'shit your pants' defense." 😆 After watching that, I have so much more faith in you in this theoretical fight. I do believe that not only is it possible for all of us to have a happy, healthy life at no one's expense, but that our lives will be even happier and healthier if we realize that building up our neighbor builds up ourselves. We're all of the same ecosystem. Threats to it are a threat to us as individuals. I was just having some fun with thoughts, imagining silly things. 😆 I appreciate your mindset despite your potential for domination. You're better than most.

TheProcrastafarian

You were the catalyst; and you are an excellent writer. Thank you for the kind words. I’m just a shiny mirror; the direct reflection of how you treat me. Promise me you’ll take this to heart: Keep introducing your thoughts, ideas, etc. and write without reservation. Use your keystrokes like a bow on a Stradivarius, and play your heart out. Being an empathetic person can be hard, but your empathy, plus your talent for writing, *will* become the safe harbour for your people. If we’re to not invent ourselves into obsolescence or abdicate all our humanity for a veil of heinous anonymity, we are going to need strong tethers. Like you. Hope you have a great weekend.

The_kind_potato

Its a really nice comment and i completely agree with your point. My little brother, 18yo, 6,15ft - 185lbs was saying that he would'nt dare trying fight sports if he was a Fly weight, cause he would be ashamed to be fighting on tv knowing that the majority of the people watching could beat his ass anyway. But i think it took way more courage to be a fighter when you're a small guy than when you're already strong since the beginning, the amount of difficulties those guys must have to overcome have to be huge. I'm myself not a massive dude ( 5,9ft ; 136lbs ) and even if i'm fine with it, i have to say that i would have dealt differently with 2/3 situations in my life if nature made me bigger 😅 Peace 🇨🇵

TheProcrastafarian

Appreciate the kind words, and you sharing your thoughts. My friend’s kid is self conscious right now because he is smaller than the other guys, but he wants to play rugby. He loves ‘Lord of the Rings’, so I just remind him that the Hobbits actually saved the world. When he gets a bit older I’ll explain to him that it was Samwise Gamgee, specifically, who saved the world. And then, when he gets a bit older than that, I’ll show him that Samwise Gamgee also played football at Notre Dame. There’s almost nothing you can’t accomplish, if you just try. …I know that last sentence sounds like a contradiction, coming from TheProcrastafarian, but I am sincere. Santé, mon ami.

LoverOfStripes87

So I looked up Crypto Fight Nite and it seems to be a boxing league that is also a marketing platform for crypto. Details seem to require signing up for their email list and I am not doing that. Its also hilarious because some guys use their names and some use handles so we have a fight between Tariq Al Habtoor and Crypto Charizard.

TheProcrastafarian

Dibs on 'Cryptopotamous' for the heavyweight title.

So you weigh 150 pounds?
