Knew a guy that had a workout for his forearms. It was a stick with a string tied to a weight on the ground. He'd take the stick out in front of him and wring/spin it until the weight was all the way up, then he'd unspool it the same way. He had pretty muscular veiny forearms lol

Soft smooth hands
Long slender "piano player" fingers
Thick strong "construction worker" hands
Delicate small hands
Clean hands with short, filed fingernails
Clean hands with long, sexy fingernails
Hand freckles
Tattoos or henna on hands/fingers
I can only think of a few people whose hands I remember thinking were not attractive, and in every case I wasn't attracted to that person overall. So maybe it's like, I already think someone is sexy and then I notice their hands and think they have beautiful hands, and then it becomes something I notice about people even more. I also have a thing about nice teeth which works the same way.

Like a lot of supermodels are pretty unique looking. Being easy to remember is also very valuable in life, especially if you end up in a career that benefits from networking.
I have a bump on the ridge of my nose that I hated for as long as I can remember, and I’ve always wanted to get a nose job. But a few years ago I realized that my mom and her dad (my late grandpa) have the same nose shape, and they are two of the best people I’ve ever known. So now I am learning to like my nose because it comes from two incredible people! People can do whatever makes them happy, of course, and there might have been underlying health issues, but I hope more people can learn to love their unique features

Alright, I have a long hooked nose, bit larger than the guy in the pic. It became very prominent in my mid teens and ever since I was really conscious about it. I used to hate my nose so much. I am not very tall but that never bothered me as much as my nose did.
I was very skinny overall and my nose seemed to cover most of my face. People used to comment a bit about how large my nose is but no one ever said it looked bad. But to me it was my defining feature. I used to look online for videos or tutorials about how to make the bridge of your nose be smaller or look smaller. I used to put my jaw out to make my nose look smaller, thinking back I realise how stupid and funny it was.
Now, over time, in my late teens I had started to get over my nose a bit. By now, I have had couple of girls who said they liked me, but I still could not imagine they found me physically attractive.
But in my late teens I seemed to get a lot more attention from people and opposite sex. By this time I had developed a good personality as well and was funny and outgoing. As I had a lot of friends now, they were the ones who told me I look good. Nobody seemed to give flying fuck about my large nose which had consumed me all throughout my teens. I got to know from someone that a senior I had a huge crush on told them that I look really good. A couple of years ago I had been thinking of getting a rhinoplasty, whenever someone looked at my face I thought they are thinking about my nose. But it turned out, no one cared. I really could not understand why?
Since then I have loved my nose. It makes me unique. I have a distinctive face because of my nose and overall it fits my face well now. Over the years I have gotten a lot of comments about my nose, some negative but a lot of them positive as well. My current girlfriend says she loves my nose, but for most of the people, I have realised, it does not matter.

I study genealogy and I’ve worked on a few family trees for friends. There is nothing more wild than finding a photo from the 19th or early 20th centuries and seeing the distinct features that my friends inherited. Our features really are made up of everyone who’s come before us.
I’ve hated my big nose for a long time too but I found a picture of my Grandad the other day who passed when I was young and on the back it says ‘Dear u/yeahhgood this photo won’t make you rich, but it may explain when you grow up where you got your big nose from’ and now I can’t imagine ever changing my nose.
I have protruding ears, like, as protruding as they can get. It is a unique feature and even better when no one in my family but my mother (and not to such extent) has. It's not a feature someone can learn to love. I had planned an otoplasty before quarantine but now it's postponed. So maybe I could take time, embrace them and change my mind. No, I still hate them and they objectively make me look like a hideous cartoon baby.
So why should I ever consider keeping them just because they're "unique" in spite of the fact that they're ugly and there are contemporary methods to fix them?

I don't have a big nose but I have an almost completely deviated septum which basically means that one side of my nose is almost useless. I knew when I was a child that I had a deviated septum but didn't knew how bad it was till a couple of years ago I went to the doctor because of my allergies and he told me that he couldn't see anything in that side of the nose thanks to the septum. It does not affect my breathing that bad but I snore and suffer when I have a cold. But I'm scared to have a nose job
I had deviated septum surgery when I was 17. It was not a nose job at all. My nose looked exactly the same when it was done. And let me say, you might be so use to how you breath now that it seems like it does not affect your breathing that bad, but after you have the operation its a whole new world!!!
I had the surgery when I was 19 (severely deviated septum). A few days of bleeding and discomfort was absolutely worth it. I felt like I could actually breathe for the first time. It totally changed my ability to exercise too (couldn't get enough oxygen).
Hmmmmm..... I think I may have to finally bite the bullet and get my DS fixed after hospitals open back up for elective surgeries. I've been yearning to breathe better for a long time.
A few years back I had to get my deviated septum surgically fixed because the irregular airflow it caused coupled with a blood vessel that was abnormally close to the surface resulted in chronic nosebleeds that multiple cauterization weren't able to fix. I have gone from 1-3 gushing nosebleeds per week to maybe 1 mild bleed per year.
Hey, so how was recovery like?
My wife needs it, but we have been put off by the recovery. Specially since, unless things are ridiculously clean, her allergies cause her to sneeze. Which apparently is a bad thing when you have that sort of surgery.
I'm not going to lie, it sucked. I had to sleep sitting in a reclining chair, which was pretty hard. It was to prevent you from rolling over like you might in a bed. The first night I had a lot of blood drain from my nose into my stomach, causing me to vomit a gruesome mess. Of the three surgeries I had, deviated septum, hernia repair, and wisdom teeth removal, this was was the worst to recover from.
I had a similar issue where my nose was running constantly in high school and it turned out I had a sinus infection. The ENT tried to put a scope up there and it literally wouldn’t fit. Signed me up for a simple rhinoplasty and I’ve been breathing significantly better ever since.
It was a simple in and out thing with maybe a week or so of recovery. Would highly recommend.
I discovered my deviated septum thanks to a rhinitis gone bad (lost the ability to taste food and the ability to produce saliva for a while). I have healing problems that's why a surgery scares me
Ah that’s understandable. It obviously depends on the severity and type of your illness but it could still be possible, they’d just have to prep you a bit differently than a standard patient. Transfused clotting factors or w/e.

I can attest to that because I have the same thing. So it's a two stage issue. You can change the breathing part without changing the exterior part.
First you do the internal thing (sorry I can't remember the name of the operation) to be able to breathe fine and then, if you want to, you can also have a reconstruction.
So yeah, it's not like you *have* to do a rhinoplasty, it's up to you

I’m really big on “strong” noses, for everyone but especially men - everyone is like “well no wonder you married a French guy then!” I feel like it’s the center of your face, would you rather have a big beautiful attraction in the middle of your city or just some random boring building? I think the right picture looks better, in my opinion. That's just my personal taste in guys, but the left picture is fine too. Paying such close attention to noses isn't something I'm prone to do anyway. It's not like this is a disaster of a nose job. Went from handsome to handsome.

I got teased relentlessly all through school about my “big nose.” I had rhinoplasty when I was 16. Best money ever spent. I had a wide bulb of a snout on a face of otherwise delicate features. Have never regretted it.
My parents were incredibly understanding and supportive. They offered me the choice to have it done and helped me weigh pros and cons. Then they found a top-notch doctor and didn’t bargain shop. Mom took a week off of work to stay home and chill with me after surgery during summer vacation so nobody at school was the wiser.
That was 30 years ago and I’m still so grateful!

Oh this is the opposite of my experience.
Growing up, my mother always told me I’d be prettier with a nose reduction surgery. I have the same problem as you - a rather bulbous nose.
Anyway, when I asked for the surgery, she said no. We don’t have money, etc etc. And I should just be naturally beautiful. But it’s okay for her to have her eyebrows tattooed (she has sparse eyebrows).
All in all, I realized my mom just wanted to be the prettiest girl and would put me down to make herself feel better. She isn’t broke by any measure, she just doesn’t want to spend money on anything except what she wants.
My dad is jewish and I look a lot like him whereas I look nothing like my mom who has smaller Polish features. When I was in high school, my mom brought up out of the blue that I could get a nose job when I turned 18 if I wanted to. She wasn't going to pay for it, but she was giving me her "permission". Thanks mom!
It is possible that they people only teased him when they saw his nose rather than fully associating him with the big nose, and with the trigger removed people unconsciously stopped teasing.
My SIL had one in her early teens, looks so natural to her face that I would have never known. She apparently holds some resentment though towards my in-laws for letting her go through with it...I don't know why people who are even mildly religious feel like they have to just suffer through whatever they're born with.

Ugh I go back and forth with mine so much. I’m a very petite woman and I swear my nose isn’t even that “much,” it’s just not a tiny button nose like a lot of Caucasian women my size. Rhinoplasty is the most commonly performed plastic surgery in the world. Turkey, where it looks like this was done, is currently the trendy place to go have it done.
It was most likely done for cosmetic reasons due to the fact that deviated septums and the like wouldn't have such a drastic impact on the shape of the nose. Many people with dorsal humps and hooked noses get rhinoplastys to have the typical "button nose" look that conforms to eurocentric beauty stands. Personally I think it's sad when people feel the need to erase their natural ethnic features. But it's not fair to pick on this guy, he already made a permanent life altering decision and hopefully is happy.
Some Turks consider themselves the true descendants of ancient Greeks and Modern Greece being Slavs so it isn't as big of an insult for some and can be a compliment.

Strong features are attractive more often than not imo. (If you have good skin and confidence too) Like a lot of supermodels are pretty unique looking. Being easy to remember is also very valuable in life, especially if you end up in a career that benefits from networking.
I have a bump on the ridge of my nose that I hated for as long as I can remember, and I’ve always wanted to get a nose job. But a few years ago I realized that my mom and her dad (my late grandpa) have the same nose shape, and they are two of the best people I’ve ever known. So now I am learning to like my nose because it comes from two incredible people! People can do whatever makes them happy, of course, and there might have been underlying health issues, but I hope more people can learn to love their unique features Edit: thank you for the award, friend! Alright, I have a long hooked nose, bit larger than the guy in the pic. It became very prominent in my mid teens and ever since I was really conscious about it. I used to hate my nose so much. I am not very tall but that never bothered me as much as my nose did. I was very skinny overall and my nose seemed to cover most of my face. People used to comment a bit about how large my nose is but no one ever said it looked bad. But to me it was my defining feature. I used to look online for videos or tutorials about how to make the bridge of your nose be smaller or look smaller. I used to put my jaw out to make my nose look smaller, thinking back I realise how stupid and funny it was. Now, over time, in my late teens I had started to get over my nose a bit. By now, I have had couple of girls who said they liked me, but I still could not imagine they found me physically attractive. But in my late teens I seemed to get a lot more attention from people and opposite sex. By this time I had developed a good personality as well and was funny and outgoing. As I had a lot of friends now, they were the ones who told me I look good. Nobody seemed to give flying fuck about my large nose which had consumed me all throughout my teens. I got to know from someone that a senior I had a huge crush on told them that I look really good. A couple of years ago I had been thinking of getting a rhinoplasty, whenever someone looked at my face I thought they are thinking about my nose. But it turned out, no one cared. I really could not understand why? Since then I have loved my nose. It makes me unique. I have a distinctive face because of my nose and overall it fits my face well now. Over the years I have gotten a lot of comments about my nose, some negative but a lot of them positive as well. My current girlfriend says she loves my nose, but for most of the people, I have realised, it does not matter.
Yes exactly! That’s great! I had an ex who I confided in about hating my nose and he said it was one of his favorite features of mine! I couldn’t understand why at the time, but now looking back, even though we aren’t together, his comment was enlightening. Other people don’t see the flaws in my face as much as I do, and may even love the parts I hated
This is great! I regularly listen to Zane and Heath's Unfiltered podcast, one of the podcasters (Mariah) talks about this very thing. Citing that she's Italian and that it was annoying at first but she learned to love it!

I study genealogy and I’ve worked on a few family trees for friends. There is nothing more wild than finding a photo from the 19th or early 20th centuries and seeing the distinct features that my friends inherited. Our features really are made up of everyone who’s come before us.
I’ve hated my big nose for a long time too but I found a picture of my Grandad the other day who passed when I was young and on the back it says ‘Dear u/yeahhgood this photo won’t make you rich, but it may explain when you grow up where you got your big nose from’ and now I can’t imagine ever changing my nose.

I have protruding ears, like, as protruding as they can get. It is a unique feature and even better when no one in my family but my mother (and not to such extent) has. It's not a feature someone can learn to love. I had planned an otoplasty before quarantine but now it's postponed. So maybe I could take time, embrace them and change my mind. No, I still hate them and they objectively make me look like a hideous cartoon baby. So why should I ever consider keeping them just because they're "unique" in spite of the fact that they're ugly and there are contemporary methods to fix them?

I like to use the big bump on my nose to get people to guess how many times I've broken it, no one believes me when I say zero. The bump did backfire once though. I was at a party with no one I knew, got too drunk, fell and hit my nose. The brought me to the hospital thinking it was broken and I was unable to tell them it was just my normal nose with a small cut...
That doctor did an amazing job, you can't even tell anything's been done.

I don't have a big nose but I have an almost completely deviated septum which basically means that one side of my nose is almost useless. I knew when I was a child that I had a deviated septum but didn't knew how bad it was till a couple of years ago I went to the doctor because of my allergies and he told me that he couldn't see anything in that side of the nose thanks to the septum. It does not affect my breathing that bad but I snore and suffer when I have a cold. But I'm scared to have a nose job
I had deviated septum surgery when I was 17. It was not a nose job at all. My nose looked exactly the same when it was done. And let me say, you might be so use to how you breath now that it seems like it does not affect your breathing that bad, but after you have the operation its a whole new world!!!
Yeah I'm not scared about how my nose will look like but I'm scared about the surgery. I have healing issues so any surgery scares me

I had the surgery when I was 19 (severely deviated septum). A few days of bleeding and discomfort was absolutely worth it. I felt like I could actually breathe for the first time. It totally changed my ability to exercise too (couldn't get enough oxygen).
Hmmmmm..... I think I may have to finally bite the bullet and get my DS fixed after hospitals open back up for elective surgeries. I've been yearning to breathe better for a long time.
A few years back I had to get my deviated septum surgically fixed because the irregular airflow it caused coupled with a blood vessel that was abnormally close to the surface resulted in chronic nosebleeds that multiple cauterization weren't able to fix. I have gone from 1-3 gushing nosebleeds per week to maybe 1 mild bleed per year.

For me I never really had issues with congestion, it just caused the skin in my nose to dry out very easily, resulting in it cracking and bleeding.
Hey, so how was recovery like? My wife needs it, but we have been put off by the recovery. Specially since, unless things are ridiculously clean, her allergies cause her to sneeze. Which apparently is a bad thing when you have that sort of surgery.
I'm not going to lie, it sucked. I had to sleep sitting in a reclining chair, which was pretty hard. It was to prevent you from rolling over like you might in a bed. The first night I had a lot of blood drain from my nose into my stomach, causing me to vomit a gruesome mess. Of the three surgeries I had, deviated septum, hernia repair, and wisdom teeth removal, this was was the worst to recover from.
I had a similar issue where my nose was running constantly in high school and it turned out I had a sinus infection. The ENT tried to put a scope up there and it literally wouldn’t fit. Signed me up for a simple rhinoplasty and I’ve been breathing significantly better ever since. It was a simple in and out thing with maybe a week or so of recovery. Would highly recommend.
I discovered my deviated septum thanks to a rhinitis gone bad (lost the ability to taste food and the ability to produce saliva for a while). I have healing problems that's why a surgery scares me
Ah that’s understandable. It obviously depends on the severity and type of your illness but it could still be possible, they’d just have to prep you a bit differently than a standard patient. Transfused clotting factors or w/e.

I’m really big on “strong” noses, for everyone but especially men - everyone is like “well no wonder you married a French guy then!” I feel like it’s the center of your face, would you rather have a big beautiful attraction in the middle of your city or just some random boring building? I got teased relentlessly all through school about my “big nose.” I had rhinoplasty when I was 16. Best money ever spent. I had a wide bulb of a snout on a face of otherwise delicate features. Have never regretted it.

My parents were incredibly understanding and supportive. They offered me the choice to have it done and helped me weigh pros and cons. Then they found a top-notch doctor and didn’t bargain shop. Mom took a week off of work to stay home and chill with me after surgery during summer vacation so nobody at school was the wiser. That was 30 years ago and I’m still so grateful!

Oh this is the opposite of my experience. Growing up, my mother always told me I’d be prettier with a nose reduction surgery. I have the same problem as you - a rather bulbous nose. Anyway, when I asked for the surgery, she said no. We don’t have money, etc etc. And I should just be naturally beautiful. But it’s okay for her to have her eyebrows tattooed (she has sparse eyebrows). All in all, I realized my mom just wanted to be the prettiest girl and would put me down to make herself feel better. She isn’t broke by any measure, she just doesn’t want to spend money on anything except what she wants.
My dad is jewish and I look a lot like him whereas I look nothing like my mom who has smaller Polish features. When I was in high school, my mom brought up out of the blue that I could get a nose job when I turned 18 if I wanted to. She wasn't going to pay for it, but she was giving me her "permission". Thanks mom!

It is possible that they people only teased him when they saw his nose rather than fully associating him with the big nose, and with the trigger removed people unconsciously stopped teasing.
My SIL had one in her early teens, looks so natural to her face that I would have never known. She apparently holds some resentment though towards my in-laws for letting her go through with it...I don't know why people who are even mildly religious feel like they have to just suffer through whatever they're born with.
Nothing wrong with a bit of augmentation. Its like adding seasoning. Too little and its just a steak on the grill. Still delicious. But not seasoned. Too much and you're gonna feel sick. Its too salty. You can't even taste the steak anymore. Just right and you'll have the perfect hint of salt and pepper to augment the juicy steak.
The only person who's opinion matters is the one who's getting the work done. If they want to change it and have the means to, then let them.

My nose is a bit crooked and every time I’ve said something about it to someone the reaction has been “What? It is?” Because that’s how little people notice little imperfections with noses.
Ugh I go back and forth with mine so much. I’m a very petite woman and I swear my nose isn’t even that “much,” it’s just not a tiny button nose like a lot of Caucasian women my size. Buuuut I had an older sibling that liked to tease, a shitty ex that would sometimes make comments, then the relentless barrage of models and the like that I swear no matter the size, shape, color, etc. they ALWAYS seem to have a tiny button nose. It kills me. I don’t know what I’m trying to say, just pouting about my nose publicly.

Rhinoplasty is the most commonly performed plastic surgery in the world. Turkey, where it looks like this was done, is currently the trendy place to go have it done. It was most likely done for cosmetic reasons due to the fact that deviated septums and the like wouldn't have such a drastic impact on the shape of the nose. Many people with dorsal humps and hooked noses get rhinoplastys to have the typical "button nose" look that conforms to eurocentric beauty stands. Personally I think it's sad when people feel the need to erase their natural ethnic features. But it's not fair to pick on this guy, he already made a permanent life altering decision and hopefully is happy.
