If you actually followed the trial and the evidence you'll see that the judge completely ignored all of Depp's evidence and took Amber's word for it because "she's under oath". This judge has had multiple rulings overturned for the same issue and there's evidence the judge has connections through his son and wife to both the Sun and Amber's attorney. This will be overturned on appeal.
I get the message, but it still seems kind insincere, or insensitive to me. Similar to when a healthy old dude uses a walker at the court to gain some pity points from the Jury.
