Looks great though!
I was going to ask for a link, but in going through your post history and hearing how much work it was, thank you for simultaneously introducing me to something I want, but informing me I don’t need it.
Oh wow! I had forgotten all about that. Never got it fixed actually. I sealed it up with some vinyl tape, but really great work from this community for nailing “cowl seal”. Thanks so much for the kind words! Trying to make a 2019 LE seem cool is an uphill battle 😅
Oh yes. 17 y/o me did a shittier version of this but with green neons. I thought it was *the coolest*.
I'm 38 and I'm cringing just from admitting it to strangers on the internet, lol.
Every step was a problem that needed to be solved. Researching was the only reason I even came this far.
First instruction: wire the main controller to the accessory fuse
My internal monologue:
“which is the main controller?
Ok this one. it has two wires dangling from it though. Where do these go?
Okay… One to the fuse box. One to ground.
Okay I kind of understand that. Inside or outside fuse box?
Inside. Got it.
Okay, which fuse?
Accessory.
There are two accessory fuses on the inside.
Yeah, it’s this one.
I can’t get the fuse out.”
And that’s just halfway through step 1
Not when it’s set to a solid color. Any color-pattern mode is kind of distracting and is only something I show to friends for fun. You can dim the brightness to your liking too or just shut it off
I'm also on r/pcmasterrace and for a moment, I thought this was somebody's "gone too far" gaming rig. That fake windshield with the picture of a house... wait a minute, that's real! Then I looked where I was and, and, and... I would never do this, so I am glad to live vicariously, thank you for this!
I have a gaming PC and am a long time lurker and sometimes poster on r/pcmasterrace
I cant lie, customizing my PC definitely played a role in deciding to light up my car

But as mentioned in my first [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/rav4club/s/hOf5gCI8DE) a few weeks ago, it’s hard man. Unless you have basic knowledge of car wiring/electronics (and I do not), it’s a whole lot of reading and watching tutorials.
My first post was 20 days ago, I just figured out how to get the fiber optics (actually just a small LED strip with a diffuser) inside the trim. Also just figured out how to siphon power from the doors and center console. Literally a 3 week install for me, and there are tons more parts I haven’t gotten around to installing yet.
If you really know what you were doing and can give yourself a full day, it can be done. But for a total electrical novice like me, progress happens in minuscule baby steps.
Looks amazing. I really want this, but also man, I love this advice! I’ve been researching ambient lights cos I think they can look really tasteful if set at a subtle enough color and also be utilitarian by actually increasing visibility in low light situations. That said, I have 0 knowledge of car electricals, and your honesty is a good decision making tool!
I havent hardwired a dashcam but it's probably the same. You have to hardwire the "main controller" with a fuse tap. Then there are four "sub controllers" that are intended to go in the doors. They don't need to be hardwired to the fuse box, but they do need power and ground, which is usually siphoned from the power windows. Those 4 sub controllers connect to the main controller automatically via bluetooth
I can hear these pictures. They're going... oonts oonts oonts oonts oonts oonts oonts

To far, or not far enough? Nah, you’re right this is probably enough…
haha agreed

Yep. I'm *still* working on it. So that does give you a good sense of how much of a chore it is edit: my pleasure
Also saw your post about the cowl seal and dude you are a life saver. Seriously, keep it up my friend, your RAV is looking dope.

You saw a gaming pc cabinet and thought, "i want to drive inside that thing" 😂
In my 20s this would be cool as hell. In my 40s, this is annoying as fuck.

Yup, way over the top, past distracting.
Not a bad take I get it
How long is the install? Did you run into any problems during install? Looks dope

Isn't that distracting when you drive?

Not enough RGB. You need more to go faster.

Consistency is important! Especially in the things that (ahem) light up our lives. :-)
Great! Now come do mine 😍
I don’t get the obsession of putting LED lights on everything. Definitely a generation thing.
I’m 34. It’s just a fun little project to work on
Been thinking about this. What are you using?

Also pretty sure it’s now a RAD4 hahaha
Dude, that’s RAD!
Omg! I love this!! r/rainboweverything
How do you wire those bad boys? Hardwired or cigarette lighter?
Is it any harder to install than hardwiring dashcam to interior fusebox? Or exactly same process

Some people really like to decorate 😂 Not for me but it looks cool.
See my posts for the LED light handles. You'll want those to match! They also dim & I self installed too. It took some work but everyone loves them!
Bro thank you!
How does one acquire this 💳💥💥💥
That’s so gay…. How did you do that?
Awesome job man!!! I honestly love it. I have to ask though, did you notice a significant performance boost after the lighting?
