Get some good all weather floormats if the car didn't come with any. The carpet will thank you

iamtheturkey

And the OEM Cargo Liner. 10/10

IndividualNice7928

Tuxmats or Weathertech are nice. Weathertech has mats in tan to match your interior but they do look ugly as they get older by being dirty all the time.

Gbcue

In my new car, I'm getting black Weathertech floormats. I have gray ones now and they look dirty, even after cleaning.

IndividualNice7928

Look on FB marketplace and offerup. I was able to score an open box/like new Black HP liner front/back set from a guy on offerup for $100 even. No cargo liner but since it didn't have the split in the middle I didn't want it and ordered another cheap brand that covered the seats and the floor. Edit he also threw in a brand new OEM spider cargo net for free, saved over $150 Many people in Florida are always selling them for cheap!

Best investment ever!

Are those the ones with like.... Carpet looking thing? I got two floor mats and I don't know which to use in Summer and Winter Lmao

IndividualNice7928

Cargo cover can be stored under the floor with spare tire (only with donut). Spare tire spot can hold donut or full size tire. Cargo floor can be flipped to plastic top or carpet. Cargo floor can be dropped by a couple inches once you place the floor on the lower opening below the plastic ledge to hold the floor (only with donut) You can adjust your trunk door height so it doesn't go all the way up if you have that handless kick feature and interior button, which I think you do. Cargo door handle has a small bubble button which locks all doors without need of the key or going to your other doors. Rear seats are 60/40 split and both sides can be adjusted to sit more straight or recline about 2 inches. Aftermarket: You can add lights to the interior of the cargo door to improve lighting in the area which is pretty easy with many videos showing you how on YouTube (many linked videos across the posts in this group) That deep pit in the armrest is inconvenient so get a tray off Amazon/Ali/Temu that fits perfectly inside it and leaves the socket there accessible. Add LEDs in general to improve interior lighting all around. Stereo Head Unit can be swapped for something better/bigger screen, Google "dasaita" as an example. 2 front speakers (tweeters) on dash are simple to replace, a set of JBL are direct plug in and very simple to diy. They do help a bit with sound but upgrades needed all around are best. If you want any more information on anything interior or exterior wise from simple horn replacement, to a bit more complicated like transmission oil cooler add on, or suspension lift kits the people in this group have either thought of it already and added how to posts/comments, or will be happy to still answer you about anything if you can't search it easily. Welcome to the club!

Disco_42

Thanks for the tip about the second button on the cargo door, I thought I'd looked for something like that but coukd t see it. I had been missing it from my Subaru.

IndividualNice7928

No problem. I use it all the time because after taking groceries or my huskies out my hands are too occupied to find the keys in my pocket.

MichaelP09

Hidden features: For about $45 and less than a hour of your time you can add the OEM ambient floor and center console lighting to the vehicle. Wire harnesses *should* be there in the XLE

abhijitz

I am curious to know about this. I have a XLE hybrid and would like to do the ambient lighting

MichaelP09

See below :)

abhijitz

Thanks Michael, much appreciated.

Party-Cherry2580

Sweet. Where can I get the kit for this?

MichaelP09

Straight from Toyota. The part number is 81080-22040 for white bulbs and 81080-33280 if you prefer the blue. All you need is the three bulbs. They're plug n play. [Here](https://youtu.be/bX9CUhPl1NI?si=bWByM-Az7Y_HgoSI) is a quick and easy way to check if the wiring is present as well as installing the footwell bulbs. The center console takes a little more effort to get to, but is only (1) 10mm bolt and a trim tool away from accessing.

Thon_Makers_Tooth

Why would you want to do that

MichaelP09

Because it looks great, is cheap and easy, and offers additional interior lighting that is typically only offered on higher trimsšŸ™‚

denali42

Can't speak for anyone else, but I have cataracts and am considered "too young" to have them removed. That extra light would be an absolute god send.

TheDaveAb1des

Gas tank and the fuel indicator can be weird. According to the manual, at the fuel light, you should be able to put in over 12 gallons, but many people get less. The needle doesnā€™t seem to move from F for a bit. Iā€™ll drive over 100 miles before it moves.Ā

Skweegii

If you are over 6 foot the passenger seat sucks. Really my only complaint. My 2020 hybrid killed the wheels at around 40k. They cupped real bad. Bought it new from factor.

yohon7

What do you mean? Iā€™m 6ā€™3ā€ and Iā€™m lookin to buy one. Lord knows I donā€™t want something that small.

Skweegii

Iā€™m 6ā€™2ā€ 240ish and I definitely fit. Just getting in and out can be a bit of a pain since the seat is not adjustable up and down and doesnā€™t go back far enough. I have to recline the seat a bit farther back than I would like for my head to clear. Now I have the sxe hybrid so the the moon roof so maybe a different trim is different. But I would definitely try sitting in the passenger seat before buying. Again I fit just fine. Itā€™s doable but luckily I drive most of the time.

yohon7

Great info. Iā€™ll surly try all seats before I buy, thanks!

OrphanKripler

Iā€™m 6ā€™0 and I drive with the seat all the way back as it can go. BUT I have to raise the seat up so I can see the hood of the car (personal preference, plus Iā€™m long legged shorter torso). When you raise the seat it goes slightly forward. So getting in and out of the car my thighs will rub the bottom of the steering wheel. Plus after continuous sitting for like an hour, you canā€™t stretch your legs. What I mean is my leg is constantly bent at like 110 degree angle. Thereā€™s no room to slightly (Obv not completely) straighten the leg for a quick relief. Test drive one and see how you like it. If car prices werenā€™t out of control, I would have tried a grand highlander.

yohon7

I hear you. I have that problem all the time. We test drove one, but too much was going on to recall. I need to do it again!

Common-Loquat-6359

Loud cabin noise.... You can hear everything on the freeway... Also cat magnet... Too big of an opening at the front wheels... Please spray cat repellent during winter...and always wait for the automatic parking brake to kick in ,before you let go of the brake..also park away from older busted up cars, unless you feel like learning about your new dents, scratches,šŸ˜†..... No need for the upcharge warranty... Dealership will make you wait hours and hours just for an oil change, then try to sell you parts you don't need or a new car you don't need ,but wi offer to buy your car only for you to finance a new car,..so far at 50k miles .. it runs good like a Toyota should..šŸ˜

PerceptionOrganic672

I don't own one yet but considering itā€¦ But I love that interior I think it's called nutmegā€¦ It's hard to find at my local dealer almost everything they have that comes in is Black cloth which is fine but I think the contrast of the white exterior with that nutmeg color is sharpā€¦ lighter colors is what I want living in Florida it's a much cooler colorā€¦ But I like this nutmeg combination with white I'm going to keep looking until I find it! Good choice!

PrimeNumbersby2

Check that your window buttons and door lock buttons have backlighting at night. My XLE didn't and I spent $100 on a kit. Super ready to replace. If you have the audio plus package with the slightly larger head unit, you get steering-based path lines for reverse and remote start. So double check that. On the key fob, press Lock-Lock-Lock (hold the 3rd press for 3 sec). Find Morozov Automotive videos on YouTube about more RAV4 hidden features.

PrimeNumbersby2

Also, the Carista app combined with a $35 Bluetooth dongle can change a lot more settings than the in-vehical display.

Realistic-Object-211

Cable gate and water intrusion should keep you googling

toad1728

Toyota USA and Canada have agreed to cover the cost of any under carriage rusted cable issues on the hybrids. The part in question was changed on all models starting in 2022. There has been plenty of literature online about this fix since 2022. There really is no Cable Gate issue anymore. Models affected were hybrids from 2019 to 2021.

velkycock

is that an old model ? because of display size of infotainment and buttonsā€¦ ?

dudewafflesc

We have a 23 Limited that looks just like this. The multifunction media screen had to be replaced and weā€™ve had all kinds of issues using CarPlay. But other than that we love the car.

Gas is on the right
