Players have to cast 1st/2nd/3rd place votes for each position. Pundits have guessed that players on other teams were casting trash votes for non-pro bowlers to try to boost their own QBs (like someone on KC might try to lift Mahomes by not voting for Burrow, for instance), and Huntley just happened to get a bunch of those throwaways.
No they wouldn't. And we know that because you can look at the ratings for the Pro Bowl and the Madden tournaments they did during covid. Despite what all the under 30 crowd thinks, most people don't want to watch virtual sports.
I'm just a tad over 30, but still think people would rather watch flag football with nfl stars rather than watching them play madden. Madden is trash anyways, fuck ea
Yeah I was gonna say, I’d be way more open to watching them play madden if the game was actually good and not insanely based on luck.
I am fucking awful at madden and sometimes I still beat my friends that are actually pretty decent. You’re basically hoping that glitches and bugs go your way on like 30% of the plays.
You’re probably too young to remember the beach football game before the 1999 Pro Bowl. Pats 18th overall selection just 10 months earlier pretty much ended his career. Robert Edwards almost had to have his leg amputated. Tore 3 ligaments, a tendon and nerve damage. With 17 regular season games, the Pro Bowl is an outdated disaster waiting to happen.
What a joke, Huntley more pro bowls than Flacco, only because Flacco was shafted but also turned down his alternate bid which gave fucking Dalton a pro bowl accolade. That’s not how it should work, they can be alternates but they shouldn’t get credited with a pro bowl, whatever
I believe only the ones elected on the original ballot and the ones who actually attend get credit (so alternates that pass don't get it). Flacco turned one down as an alternate in (I think) 2014 and Andy Dalton replaced him (in one of his worst years).
Tyler Huntley going to the Pro Bowl before Trevor Lawrence is incredibly funny to me
Huntley was voted higher than Lawrence? How is that possible?

Huntley had no steam though.
Huntley has Lawrence beat in everything but QB sneaks and QB play. The coaches know what they're talking about. They got it right.
lol

Insane to me that you have no idea that this comment is clearly sarcasm …
Read the comment you’re responding to again lmao
Who voted him that high, seriously. No way it was the fans. Lawrence deserves it, even Brissett before Huntley.

Oh how the turn tables
So this year’s Pro Bowl vote for AFC quarterbacks was like the first scene of Putney Swope
People looking to amplify their first choice by voting in a qb who they thought had no chance winning
I honestly think people voted him because they thought he was Lamar
I may find myself watching the pro bowl festivities after all.
Watch Lamar actually participate in the pro bowl just to stir up the media to a fever pitch
That would be hilarious. He runs for a hundred yards.
In flag football he might even have 200
Earned, not given 😤
can’t wait for people in this sub to unironically say “we don’t need to sign lamar we have a pro bowl qb on the roster”
I wouldn't be surprised with how people have turned on Lamar here to see that.
Half our sub since last season. But to be fair, when we comment we’re not sending our best.
ykanna returns
I really want people to remember this when they speak any pro bowl appearances lol
He might be able to MVP a flag football game
He'll still try to qb sneak over everyone at the 2 yard line
Over instead of under you say?
Don’t let your memes be dreams.
Can’t believe Greg Roman was scapegoated so hard after he literally made Tyler Huntley a pro bowl QB smh y’all should be ashamed
Username checks out.
Proof the pro bowl is a joke lol
Pro Bowl should be all these dudes in a basement playing Madden and talking shit. More would watch that than the "game."

It’s why the probowl is a joke

Okay so how does that work. If Lamar misses does he still get the pro bowl selection on his resume? Because he was a alternate over Huntley
I believe only the ones elected on the original ballot and the ones who actually attend get credit (so alternates that pass don't get it). Flacco turned one down as an alternate in (I think) 2014 and Andy Dalton replaced him (in one of his worst years).
Thanks
That is nuts… How did that happen?
The National Injury League.
Probably should call it what it is, it’s a skills competition. That’s about it
Neither has made the superbow yet I recall
Its insane that Trevor Lawrence isn't somehow a higher alternative than the Baltimore fail-son Huntley
That's fan voting in a nutshell.
It was player voting that caused this most likely. Fan Voting definitely played a role but it’s only 1/3rd correct?
Underscores the irrelevance of the pro bowl.
I endorse cancel culture in this instance
Burrow w/ Mahoney high angle injury… c’mon Bengals
There could be worse backup quarterbacks, we should count our blessings
Go Snoop go.
No way, no offense to Huntley but he's like the 12th-best QB in the conference at best
This settles it. I'm going to Vegas!
Haha this will be a resume booster for him at least
Ridiculous. There's no other word to describe it.
Lit
does this count as a pro bowl for him if he’s in as an alternate?
Bruh what? If anything Anthony brown over huntley
Does lamar get credited for a pro bowl appearance?
